Shoei GT Air 3 Helmet | 500 Mile Owner's Review
After about 5 years with my Gt Air I decided it was finally time for an upgrade. My previous Shoei helmet never let me down and still performs admirable considering its age and that was enough to keep me loyal and make another purchase from this great company. Some of the upgrades I mention are the aerodynamics, the dropdown internal visor, the new coms setup and how it functions with my cardo unit, as well as the weight and airflows and a few other things. All in all I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend Shoei products. The Neotec 3 and gt air 3 are currently not available in the united states but I was able to score one from

New Riders: The Life Force of Motorcycling | A Rallying Cry To Perspective And Veteran Riders

Any group is either growing or shrinking and motorcycling is no different. In particular motorcycling has a long of ways of shrinking by default such as people quitting or dying or just getting too old to ride. So the thing that keeps riding going is new blood being attracted to the space. In the video I talk to people on the fence thinking about getting into the hobby and I also discuss how ne...

Passion For Motorcycling | Obtaining And Retaining Love For Riding

Our love and passion for riding ebbs and flows at different points in time. However, there are certain strategies I've employed over the years and certain actions anyone can take to make riding more enjoyable and to make riding a priority. Time is going to pass and years can go by with minimal riding on the part of a motorcyclist if they let their passion and excitement fade. Sometimes we make ...

Where did you get that mirror I love it
@@motosmith1997 i got them on Amazon. I should have a link for them in the description of any of my long form videos.

where did you get these mirrors?

Nice single mirror placement.
Nice video I found myself in some of this , am still riding but many times had chance to quit .
Worf would call an FLH a warriors steed. Pee Wee Herman would never ride. Throwing a leg over sends a message: FNW. Fool Not With, and if you think I really meant fool, you are one.
My mistakes never killed me. The reason I took a long break from riding is those around me... They make fatal "mistakes" happen to those who continue to ride. It's not fear. It's the idea that if my family or my company I work for lose me... South Florida snowbirds kill riders here every damn day

@@admireinspire its not even an opinion. You just effectively said there are different motorcycles... yeah no shit sherlock. this is not a check list when buying a motorcycle. Wouldn't recommend it to a beginner
It's cool! Great bike!
Just bought one, in blue same as you. Delivery is tomorrow (England). Very much looking forward to it 👍

Hey, what’s the benefit of changing the handlebars like that
@@mrgrump2534 lower position is a little more aggressive and it gave me a little more space to angle my mirrors out to see a bit more. I've since lowered them even more by removing the spacer. Looks more cafe to me.
@@admireinspire oh ok 👍🏻 See I love the comfy upright position. I specifically stayed away from getting another liter bike because I can’t stand that hunched over gargoyle like position after about an hour I’m wanting off the bike.
That’s not a inline tho that’s a flat configuration I got a flat and a inline
@@ZacharyFernandes-y3c listen again
Its so insane to me that people actually ask if you can wheelie this bike 😂. Ofouce you fucking can you can wheelie a 125 or 250 with correct Techniek. Obviously this torque monster can wheelie its yhe same engine as a mt09 its just limited in fitst 2 gears but thats fixable with a ecu flash.
Ever try TCS-OFF? Seems like it might be a bit spicy..
@@rexsr900 sometimes the tcs will interfere more than usual when I'm trying to do a small wheelie and in those times I heavily consider turning it all off but at my skill level I think I'm safer with it all on. Our roads are always dirty and messed up so I assume those electronics are helping my bike not just wash out. It would be me doing all the work and placebo though and I'm just superstitious at this point lol.
@@admireinspire I feel that. I’ve been riding for just under 3 months, on a Svartpilen 401. Just picked up my XSR900 from the dealership yesterday. On the 2 hr ride home, I started on D-Mode 4. I have no idea why Shoei is lagggggging so damn bad on bringing these to the US market
I am the weird one I guess. I love the seat. Never once have I felt uncomfortable even after long rides. This is coming from a early 40 year old dude, 175lbs, with hemorrhoids.
I just order the Shoei RF-1400 in the Sheen blue. Matches the Legend blue so nice.
Where did you get those mirrors?!
@@riggomoto I have an Amazon link in the description. They are sold as singles and barely work but they do keep the bike legal.
Why not make some helmets with the comm system and some without? I was always a SHOEI user until they went to their proprietary comm systems. I am a Cardo user, don't like Sena at all. Show and Sena teamed up and it's all about $$$.
@@rleon8339 fair criticism. I too am a cardo user it works too well for me to convert to sena.

The 700 maybe as a beginner not the 900 I just went down on my 900 and it is an awesome bike and it's still sounds like it's running great,... I wouldn't want anyone on my bike that was a beginner it's got over 120 horsepower and it barely weighs 400 lb... Maybe if you turn the traction control all the way on put b mode on and not have any of the upgrades I have like the intake exhaust and power Commander I never got to ride one without it but it's a difference of like 15 to 20 horsepower it can't be that much of a difference but then again I don't know what my sprocket setup is right now either I just bought this thing and crashed it f****** big ass truck screws in the road I'm so happy the cops picked them up and showed me I was really feeling like a squid after that fall❤😂
@@Tommy-s7j damn man I'm glad you're okay and also heart broken you barely got any time to enjoy the bike.

@@toppo-ducati I rode mine today. Only at 4k miles but I love it every time. I hope you really enjoy it!
Seems like everyone talking about "wheelieing". Not sure where you are driving these, but I am not aware of anywhere in the United States where wheelies are legal or desirable on a regular road. Seems like a dumb idea to have that as a criteria. That having been said, I appreciate the reviewers thoughts on being usable at normal speeds. The bottom line is it comfortable, can i get my girl on the back for a hour or two without her ass falling off. Can does it corner stable without drama at typical road speeds. Reviewer here gives some good thoughts on this.
@@rtzzz9772 you're not wrong. It's illegal dangerous and just outright stupid. I mostly do short ones when kids ask and no one else is around so at least then I'm only endangering myself.

@@zacharyfountain9741 1 on everything.
Dang made me rethink if I want a 636 or a Xsr.
@@gnatss I've had both. The xsr is a different look and feel. I think the 636 has a few more horses on the top end and less torque at the low end. More aggressive seating position and a more aggressive look overall. I like the low end torque on command with the xsr, I like that the triple is a more unique engine style but my 636 never let me down and I loooooove the 16k rpm sound that is just unbeatable imo. @@vergedrums they don't work well. You were 85% right lol
sweet! do you have more detailed pictures of the handlebar setup? i am thinking about getting the same ones!
I don't really have any photos. The install uses all the stock hardware everything just works other than one of the things that mounts on the handlebars having a small plastic thing inside of it which holds it's place on the stock bars. I had to file that down but otherwise it's simple. I've recently removed the 1 inch spacers on the stock riser to get the rizoma bars even lower. They are damn near clip on height but I find I can get more leverage than I was able with my previous bikes that had clip ons. I'm happy with the bar overall.
@@admireinspire i've got them and installed them yesterday. i had to drill a hole for the plastic tab on the throttle housing. also i had to relocate the clutch cable to make it fit. very happy with the looks now! and way more sporty/engaging seating position😁
@@markay_ I had my clutch cable at an unhealthy bend for a while with no ill effects but since lowering it further I did just re run it from the right side of the frame. I actually had bought another cable but never ended up needing it. Sorry I didn't respond sooner but I'm glad you like it!

@@Ken_Naoko I have the full race one it's catless
How's the visibility on those mirrors?
@@MrGoodKat625 horrendous on stock bars, better with rizoma bars, kind of acceptable once I also removed the spacer from the stock riser. So now my bars are a little higher than clip ons and the mirrors are better. But useless til now lol
@@admireinspire Yeah KEMIMOTO has similar mirrors but there different mounting options.
I just want to add my experience to maybe help someone. Coming from a GT AIR 2 I planned to buy a GT AIR 3. Long story short, I returned it after 10 minutes only. The sun visor on the GT AIR 3 goes down if you ride with the clear visor open!!! it even lets air in. very bad quality IMO, Also, side note, it actually seemed worse in terms of noise than the gt air 2. So yeah, if you're like me, stay with the GT AIR 2.
@@soeu10 I've never experience the sun visor falling on its own but idk why anyone would be riding with no visor so I've also never done that. I love the helmet but your opinion has just as much validity as mine.
@@admireinspire what? hold on. I was saying the sun visor down and the outer clear visor up. and what happens is that the sun visor rattles and actually goes down leaving the "shell"
RF1400 is still better and quieter
Quickshifter sounds amazing - is that standard on the bike or aftermarket?
@@verothacamaro yessir it comes standard with up and down shifter. The brand new 24+ had a little better programming so mine will only let you shift down when you're off throttle and a few other little things. I still love it I just wish I could use cruise control under 45 and I think the new ones do that as well. I think that's the only differences.
It's just for looks, just for looks...never mind.
My take on Flip-up helmets like the Neotec is that 1) It isn't as safe (Sharp give Neotec 3 a 93% latch success rate, and only a yellow score on the sides) 2) I wear earplugs, so in most situations I'd have to take the helmet off anyways, and 3) I'm afraid that my long beard will get in the way of opening it, as some people have reported 4) With a quick lock strap, there's less of a need for modular But for instructors and police officers, a modular helmet would be great
@@Asbiss ya the rare case when I'm in a conversation I actually want to have while riding I feel a little longing for a modular but that's super rare and I'm happy with a full face in pretty much every other situation.
