The only life partner we are guaranteed to have is ourselves. I allow no one to decide if I buy bikes and ride. I started taking my son with me on motorcycles and sidecars when he was eight. He now rides. Pass it on. PS: Having an element of danger about one’s self, like it or not-or, believe it or not, is an attractive feature for a man to have. Men are generally wired to seek some form of physical risk. Just the way it is and always has been.
I completely agree. That sense of being near the edge is intoxicating for us as well. Life and normalcy is just so boring without that excitement. Clearly everyone doesn't feel that way but bikers get that. I feel like that's why with riding buddies we become quick friends so often and so easily. It's a topic I want to expand on in a future video. It's giving me goosebumps that you've brought it up.
I recognized those bumpy roads about 10 seconds in to the video. I live in loreauville. Enjoyed the video and have been through this quit a few times (24 bikes). Keep up the good work and maybe see you on the road soon.
Whaaaaaaat small world man. I have a buddy who lives there he made me aware of the construction finishing I've been doing laps around there recently! I've got a couple marks from accidently taking the unfinished road and having the crap bake onto my brand new exhaust but that's life. Its a bike not a museum piece. Thanks for reaching out!🫡
I finally got my wife on my old bike and she loves it. This Saturday I’m picking up my xsr900 and I used the rider modes and lif, slide and other safety feature to get something that was faster. Which I don’t ride fast anyways plus it is going to safer when she gets on with me. Be safe
Congrats man! I got my wife on my r1 a few times but I fucked up thinking I could do some fast riding and she would get excited. Instead i made her hate it even more and she wants nothing to do with bikes😭 I think if I eventually get a motocross bike for trails maybe we could get her on something small or an atv. I've taken the foot pegs off my last bike and this one because ive totally given up lol
Newsflash my wife is still not OK with my motorcycle purchases lol got my first bike in 2021 (21 ninja 650) she was still bitching about it a yr later went down got a (22 zx10r) Still have both bikes to this day and I’m still hearing about it, so it is what it is
@@admireinspire I didn’t really have much to lose so that’s whyI bought the bike. My wife is the type of woman. She could either take it or leave it as far as sex wise so unfortunately, it was like once every month or two I would get laid. I just bought my wife the house. I did not want at the time and a golden retriever so I told her I met all my husband duties I’m buying a bike. I did 2 I was 38 when I bought my first bike I just turned 40 I wanted a motorcycle since I was six years old and then she’s gonna tell me that I can’t have one no not happening lol
Just talked to my girlfriend the other day about getting my first bike and it started out very rough. The one that got her was the fact that the bike I was looking at would be comfortable for the both of us. She said fine very angrily and after a couple minutes mentioned how much fun it really would be.
Including them is something I never tried because my wife has the 20/10 fear. But thats a huge accomplishment man I'm jealous! I got my wife a helmet a few years ago and we rode about 40 miles one day and she hated every minute of it but it was an r1 after all so largely my oversight is to blame. The passenger seat was about 3x4 inches lol
I have an fz09 for me, and a gs1100 I ride with the wife, as long as she gets an occasional trip on the comfy bike, I get to take canyon rides on the fz with my buddies.
Ya I think that's what it takes. I had her on my r1 and I freaked her out so bad she kind of never wants to ride again and that was mt fault and I feel bad. I think something more comfortable for her might change her mind that's a great idea
@admireinspire Yep, if you want your wife on board you have to include them, and make them comfortable. I guess I'm kind of lucky, I never had a problem with motorcycles in general, she knows I've been riding since I was a kid, whenever I leave for a ride, I tell her, don't worry I'll drive fast and reckless 🤣

Great content! I definitely went through this part in my life and ended up just buying a bike. Definitely one of the toughest months of my life. By the way what mirrors are you using?or if anyone else can answer this question 😅
I have a link in the description I hope if not, it's in my other videos. For the xsr900 and mt09 they don't work very well honestly. They keep the bike legal but I kind of had no other choice to fit it into my house. Congrats making it through that hurdle. For me I'm on bike number 4 and it's still an issue just to a lesser degree lol but that's still progress!
Or you just get lucky like me with a girlfriend whos dad has ridden for years and knows the risks, and even now through my 10+ month recovery has been caring for me and even gets excited for me when i buy replacement gear and is all for me buying another
After I retired I wanted another bike after 15 year break. I looked at my age big cruiser bikes were to heavy. So kept looking at smaller and smaller bikes. A Suzuki Burgman 400 that came up for sale and she thought that would be “safer” bike to ride. That’s what I got. Not in love with it but it is alright. Interesting spot for mirrors. Not as much fun to put on my motorcycle jacket, boots, helmet and gloves. When I was younger just put on your helmet and go. Take care.
First time hearing of the Burgman. I googled it and It looks comfortable as hell. Low seat height for easy on and off I can definitely see the appeal just ease of use and price looks great too.

Well I think it's a healthy and motherly urge to want to keep those close to you that you care about safe. Not always the advice we want from our girlfriend or wife but valuable non the less. A true adversarial reaction I do think is uncalled for but a healthy dose of "kind of wish you wouldnt" means maybe you get it and try to be more careful for their sake which I think is valuable.
Bro with all due respect I constructively disagree with the overall premise of the video. She's neither your partner, nor mother; she's your wife/gf. You don't need her permission to do what you want to do. I'm assuming you pitch in more, are responsible for more; you are the authority. Responsibility without power/authority is slavery and power without responsibility is tyranny. Just sayin' The whole happy wife happy life or else sleep on the sofa of your own house that you work OT to pay for, never sat well with me. Feelings are fluid, they can't ever be met. Feed the feelings and watch the psychosis blossom. Been there, done that few too many times. Your 'partner' should be complementing you and not combating your needs. You assured of the financial security aspect, that's enough imo. Divorces are happening for financial reasons, they leave regardless of whether you go broke on a motorcycle or a yacht haha
That's a valid point of view I cant say your feelings are wrong. In my situation I do spend my own money but I do so in dumb ways at times and so having a person whose opinion I trust and value on purchases is something I like to factor in. And in some cases our purchases can weigh on them for yes the financial aspect but also the safety aspect and so I think its worthwhile to at least try and ease that possible tension. In some relationships I think the wife can outright prevent the man from buying things they want or need which I am opposed to, but the situation I'm referencing in the video is more so I CAN but I want them to be okay with that before I DO if that makes sense. Thank you for watching and thank for sharing your thoughts man!
