Van Halen - Love Walks In - Sound Design Tutorial with an Oberheim OB-8
In this video, I'll talk you through how to recreate the keyboard sound of Van Halen's "Love Walks In" with an OB-8, a piano and...a Hammond Organ?
Both Upper and Lower patches use a modified A1 - "Brass Ensemble."
For the piano, I used Waves Grand Rhapsody Piano plugin.
The Hammond Organ comes with Kontakt.
The Hammond Organ sound I'm hearing is best heard in the third verse. Check out ruclips.net/video/8qcQ34iTswY/видео.htmlsi=vUILHgGfpOco8YES&t=201 at 3m21s. Do you think I'm crazy? I SWEAR I saw a picture online of Ed playing an organ in 5150 once, but Google was of no help. I even tried Binging.

I absolutely loved Twin Peaks back in the 90s, and the soundtrack became one of my favorites. Badalamenti had such a unique sound. I highly recommend his collaboration with Julee Cruise and David Lynch, "Floating Into The Night." I played this in a single take, with a synth setting then doubled with piano.
