    What watering schedule do you set the timer to? Is this just a trial and error thing? I’m growing outdoors and in a hot climate. (Zone 8).

    • @completegrowing5427
      @completegrowing5427 Месяц назад

      It does depend on weather, what grow media you are using, and plant size. Start with 4 times a day (15 minutes each). In the hottest time, you could even leave it on during the daylight period. You can't overwater because it continually drains.

    Im assuming the watering recirculates? How do/often to clean? What can/not be planted? What I need to install grow lights like I read need to be installed if I were growing things hydroponically indoors? Also are these buckets with perlite only used for starting to process, replanting something that has already sprouted, or from start to finish? I apologize for all the questions have never done anything like this but I want to very badly.

    • @completegrowing5427
      @completegrowing5427 Месяц назад

      Water recirculates saving water. Just top off water, clean maybe once a year if needed. Literally anything can be planted. Even have papaya trees in the buckets. Grow lights indoors are needed. If only leafy plants you only need 6100K cheap LED. If flowering types like tomato and pepper you would need full spectrum lights. You can transplant anything into the buckets or start from seed. Thanks for the questions. Hope tis helped.

    • @completegrowing5427
      @completegrowing5427 3 месяца назад

      absolutely. Use gravel and a screen about 2" from the bottom of a few 1" holes. One on each side would wok best. Just one would still work if there are no downpours.

    11:40 Hey you mention keeping algae down. Is the idea that you're putting the tubing down a few inches into the perlite, so that the top layer - exposed to light - stays dry? Algae grows so readily where I am it's insane

    • @completegrowing5427
      @completegrowing5427 3 месяца назад

      Yes, but it still stays moist, so the best way to combat the algae is H2O2. Light spray of diluted solution and also some in your nutient tank takes care of the problem. (also great for the plants) I will do a full video on that next week.

    • @completegrowing5427
      @completegrowing5427 4 месяца назад

      With 270-300 gph pumps, 14 is about max if you do the tubing as shown at the end of the video. Rather not do too many anyway because it it easier to keep the nutrients full and controlled. Also the electric usage of that size pump is very low. Thanks
