Tell me is your 2.0 equipped with a timing Belt or a Chain? Waiting for my 2024 Toyota Corolla le to be delivered, same Engine. Thanks.
@@nobsatthistime it’s a chain
Just got a 2024 Corolla. The gas mileage is great and we don't drive a lot so we pay next to nothing for fuel now. I love the precise feel of everything about this car, the steering / handling, ride and braking, it feels very well made for an inexpensive car.
I think it’s criminal they threw wheel covers on even the LE! 🤦🏻♂️ what are you doing Toyota?
Very good and informative video. Nice car.
Eureka! Not that you are foolhardy like I am but I have investigated and researched and did the hard work; I now know how to bypass the time restrictions, at least for my 2021 Rav4, on Lane keeping (tracing). As you may know, if you take you hands off of the steering wheel for longer than about six seconds, the bitch in the box warns you to put your hands back onto the steering wheel and TURNS OFF lane tracing. Solution? Buy a small plastic bottle of Pom juice (the one that looks like a two ball snow man), drink the juice and then fill the bottle up with tap water. Place the bottle in the three o'clock position of your steering wheel, with the "waist" of the bottle resting on the cross bar. Test it out. It works for my Rav4, from the PA border all the way to I271 onI90. Look mom, no hands. I just monitored the lane tracing and traffic to stay safe. BE CAREFULL!!! My lane tracing looses concentration when white lines are weak or turn to black from tar. Only works with GOOD ROADS. Remember this song; I do "(All together now, one, two, three) (Keep you mind on your drivin') (Keep you hands on the wheel) (Keep your snoopy eyes on the road ahead) (We're having fun sitting in the back seat kissing and a-hugging with Fred) "
thanks for the video! it was really helpful for me :)
Can the adaptive part be disabled so it's just a constant speed cruise control? Handy in heavy snow when sensors get blocked.
Did it fully stop the car at the stop light? The dealership told me it will apply the brake but can't fully stop the car.
Can you please locate the PCV Valve.. I want to get an oil catch can 🙏🏻
Anybody tried comma/open pilot vs tss 3.0? I have tried tss 3.0 in a corolla and was very impressed. But I haven't tried open pilot. I also tried tss 2.5 in a rav4 not impressed at all.
I'm doing a drain & fill every 35,000 miles on the cvt. I think it'll help keep the parts healthy for the long term. It's a sealed unit and somewhat complex so the dealer can do that. Quote was $323.00
Looks like it's revving about 1300 / 1400 rpm at close to 60 miles an hour. To the average Joe like myself, that's good for gas mileage and low engine wear / stress and that's great.
There doesn't sound like a whole lot to complain about. Our 2024 Corolla ( in the same color ) will arrive at the dealership as early as next month. We're looking forward to it.
Awesome. We have 26,000 miles on it already. Still nothing to complain about!
2013 Corolla S has 248000 miles.Only used Mobil 1 0-20 oil.Change trans fluid 3 times.White paint is peeling off since 2015.
First oil change is supposed to be at 500 miles, when breaking in.
Of course nothing is in writing but that seems a little early.
Waiting for delivery of my new Ascent Petrol Sedan. Can’t wait
I took a full self driving Tesla for a demo and was blown away with the technology. I drive 43,000 kms /year and it's mostly highway driving and how nice it would be not to constantly be having to do all the input in the car. The problem with the Tesla is insurance (almost doubles my insurance) and being EV battery depletes over time.
Just bought me a black 2023 Corolla LE 2 weeks ago with 14k Miles on it.
Is there a upper control arm in this type of setup? If so i want to buy adjustable ones to add camber.
The US toyotas look way better than EUs
1:00 Adaptive cruise will come to a stop at a light, and resumes without driver input, if traffic resumes within a few seconds. (not even 15 seconds as proven in the video).
Apparently this is excellent technology especially when you are doing long distance driving like a long road trip. Apparently it reduces driver fatigue
what i know that small cars does not need that expansive suspension in the rear end its small car will not make any big deference compere with big sedan cars like Lexus or even kia k5 multi link suspension is much heavy and have many bushing all over and to renew the rear end suspension will cost a lot of money ,,, i have 2014 chevy impala with multi link rear suspension and now need renew guess the cost each rear arm cost around 150$ and its have 5 arm in each wheel 🙆♂
I had a 2020 SE hatchback manual with this engines & now have a 2024 SE Hatch with the CVT. My longevity concern is with the CVT. They are as expensive as a hybrid battery to replace ($6000+) but may not be as long lasting.
Any issues with the MT during your ownership?
Is it able to handle a clover leaf type turn, or do you need to take over for that?
can music be played while google map is on the screen...?
Yes
Great video! Why have you stopped making update videos on your awesome Corolla!
I'm going to change my transmission fluid every 30k miles and the engine oil every 3k miles.
Is there anyway to disable the “simulated” shifts? Just kind of nonsense that I don’t care for.
Any difference in handling?
No not really noticeable in this car
@@rickm8456 you're not kidding I test drove them both today and I even sat in the back seat I could not notice any difference whatsoever
My wife has a honda cr-v with electronic parking break it too makes that noise you were talking about when you engage and disengage although it's not as loud as yours
I don't normally comment and like but this video was honestly exactly what I wanted. Straight to the point, concise and you showed us real world example. Thank you!
My dad has the SE and it's no engine top cover?
Thanks for the lane centering demo-- Question: how good is lane tracing assist at keeping the car centered in its lane on freeway curves? Thanks!
You managed to demo the system without explaining which buttons to press. Brilliant and useless at the same time!
I have 2023 Corolla se and I’m really disappointed about it. Engine has ticking or knocking sound. Dealer said it is normal. Engine roars like someone is shocking to go up roads. Transmission sometimes especially in cold weather does not shift and keeps the rpm high in flat roads. Wind and road noises are horrible.
Where did you find 0-16 oil so hard to find
Thanks for the video. Do you find the interior loud?
One of these days our cars will decide they don't need a driver and will lock us out of our cars
I just purchased a 2024 Corolla LE with the “Underground” Gray color. Same interior as yours. I too will be changing the oil at 1K miles. Thanks for the video. @TheCarCarNut is also a great resource.
Smart move doing the break in oil change. I'm also a big fan of "The Car Care Nut' on RUclips.
Does it vibrate at 1200 rpm?
Nice car.... Congratulations Make sure you keep up with regular 5,000 mile oil change interval or every 6 months - which ever comes first - and you're golden. I'm in Canada and bought the Corolla SE AWD.
I’m at 117k miles on my 2017 Corolla and I’ve only had to replace one wheel bearing, my friend has a 2016 Hyundai Sonata (I know different but still) and his engine let go at 85k. Then my work friend had a Kia Optima Hybrid and it also blew up when I actually was in the car 😂, I’ll keep my Corolla, idc if it’s boring to some people. I do like how they have the CVT with the first physical launch gear over the K313 that’s in my car. It’s a good transmission at least so far but it would be nice to have the launch gear!
Compared to my 2017 Corolla, it seems way better. It was honestly awful for whatever version the 2017 had. Also drove a 2023 Sienna which I believe has 3.0 and it was great as well. It can steer for up to 15 seconds I believe at a time before a warning comes up.
Hi, Is this Mississippi built or Japan? Do you think U.S Corollas would offer the same reliability?
As of 2024 - the only Corolla being exported from Japan to USA are the Hatchback models. I’m on my second & they are spectacular:)
The 1.8litre engine is what the toyota Corolla reputation is largely built on. Just imagine how good they are at making those engines by now. i have a 2022 toyota Corolla 1.8 liter. a well refined piece of mechanical artwork lol.
