High energy Raoul Walsh classic from 1933, The Bowery places saloon owner and operator Wallace Beery against bitter rival and dandy, George Raft, with adopted street kid Jackie Cooper and good looking Faye Wray in roles that play in between their big rivalry. It's not clear exactly what the rivalry is all about, but everyone follows it in the daily tabloids. Plenty of wisecracks at the beginnin...

You and Me 1938 Film Noir George Raft and Sylvia Sydney Directed by Fritz Lang

Not a typical film noir, it is quite a bit odd, something you don't usually see in most film noirs. It certainly has more of a trademark German expressionist look. It’s a part romantic comedy, part Depression-era drama, part Kurt Weill musical and part illustrated lecture that “Crime Does Not Pay.” George Raft, a big star of the era who is often unfairly maligned by contemporary critics, gives ...

What an unexpected Christmas classic. The cast was excellent. Love Mamma, nothing more Christmas then that. Great Movie 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
What a riot!!!!
Edward Arnold too. A caged lion who gets it done when he escapes. WOW!
Never seen a George Raft like this. He is a tiger in full fury.
Ty ❤ nice
This movie ends with a prayer. Sweet. Pretty slick seeing major stars playing supporting roles, but the real supporting actor, Joe Swayer, is an all-time favorite. We see George Raft, a diminutive 5'7", next to all others, particularly Randolph Scott, but still a commanding presence. Thank you HTGA.
George Raft a manly man in his role, even though he always wears eyeliner on his top eyelid & false eyelashes too - he was no pushover.
You morones take care that Baby is driving me to drink❤
Too dark. Unwatchable. Pity. Bye.😮
Leon Shamroy was later renowned for his Technicolor work at Twentieth Century-Fox.
The description reminds me of "My Man Godfrey (1936)".
Poor video quality😞
Happy endings!!
Watching this on TCM right now. Enjoying the comments here. Loved the tea train. As a kid I thought a small train should replace "all the please pass the" requests. Never saw this delightful old film before but my childhood idea popped back into my head. Thx 😊
Love Miriam. Underrated actress.
IRL Matilda's sons were older that she is. She's only 45.
THIS FILM IS ONE OF THEE ,OST FILTHY, OBSCENE EVIL PROPAGANDA FILMS HOLLYWOOD EVER MADE WHITEWASHING THE FILTHY RICH YET YOU STUPID INSECTS LAP IT UP AND SWALLOW IT.
Don't you have a CEO to stalk?
? Why so angry 😠???
@@SavingOurRepublic What:? Angry?? One should NEVER feel anger! One should NEVER feel any emotions at all! Emotions are dangerous things! In fact all emotion is forbidden on the internet! Of course since I don't have any emotions and since I don't know what they are; I'm only spouting the internet party line because I've never felt anger in my life because anger is forbidden in my internet religion. One should never feel anger about anything... In fact one should have no emotions at all like me. We should all be emotionless drones like me. Anyone who has emotions is a dangerous freak.
All movie industries in all countries showcase the extremely rich, as well as the extremely poor. The middle class is notoriously boring and without sufficient drama, so relax, it’s just a movie.
@@carlabroderick5508 Absolute bull crap. How many films about poor people are made? NONE ZERO. You just admitted civilization brainwashes the masses to admire, emulate and worship the filthy rich. Movies are one of the best brainwashing venues there are. The fact is all people who watch movies have been brainwashed by them including you. The fact that you are completely unaware that you have been brainwashed is proof that you are brainwashed because you do not see and are unaware of all the subliminal messages and assumptions hidden in all movies.
Good movie however I'm dumb i guess because she kept saying i need my sons here you'll see why" so i was expecting more at the end.. lol..
Two of my favorite actors. Thank you!
❤ Beautiful movie.. Thanks Blessings to all's 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
At 67, i finally saw this. And Ann Sheridan, too !!! Thanks for posting this!
JACKIE COOPER. WHAT GREAT ACTOR. AND U GOTTA LOVE WALLACE BERRY.
Aren't or weren't the actresses Beautiful and elegant
From Terence Wise in UK………Wow! What a great film,I remember my late mother telling me that George Raft was a super star actor.
Good, thank you.
Raft was one slick character. TY!
This is a very good film. It's on two levels, black market racketeers and a wrongful court marshal. George Raft concerns both. Friendship is important, so are children. The underlying theme is attempted redemption. Did he succeed? No spoilers so watch the film!
😂 William Frawley with a full head of hair and and George raft as dancer other than a tough guy. Really great rare find 👏👏👏👏
I remember those registers they sure got easier after awhile
Marvin muller was the host of the millionaire. The show where you never saw the millionaire. But you may have seen what he did. Marvin gave the money away. For good or bad.,what the money would do to the recipients.
Look at his footwork makes me want to get up a d dance with him. I like george raft and his movie band!
gem of a movie, definitely one of a kind
Actually, Carole Lombard was a better dancer than George.
I enjoyed the movie .
I think this was pretty good in showing (in a Hollywood-stretch -the-truth kind of way) how bad the Black Marget was during and after WWII. Raft is always a fun man to watch, and the actors all did a good job. I always notice the details in the sets, and they made the most of the large, round window with Havoc dressed beautifully gazing from it. Good post-TY!
Different ending
This is a tough one to follow. I wouldn't say its a bad film, its just... As scatterbrained as that blonde, but, that said I find her likeable lol.
Damn good old movie. And, there's never been a bad George Raft movie anyways. Even if the title makes you go huh, could it possibly, but of course it is. So. I watch all of them that show up.
Horrible; absolutely nothing to do with Christmas
You obviously didn't watch much of it.
Most Christmas movies today have very little to do with its true meaning which is fine with most people who are not humble enough to admit they are sinners in need of a Savior whose name is Jesus.
Just love George Raft such a talented actor!!

A classic !
Good one . Thank you !
Absolutely wonderfu! Fantastic film!
Loved this film! George was a very talented dancer and had the most sensual eyes. Carole Lombard was beautiful and also very talented. The clothes she and the other women wore in this film were beyond stunning!
