    why plates

    • @andyvincentpt
      @andyvincentpt Месяц назад

      The pad behind is what my knee goes down to touch. So every plate I add moves me further away from it. So the more plates means greater range of motion. Making the exercise more challenging. So within the context of progression it’s a way to make the exercises harder 👍🏼

    It depends on your occupation if you have an active job, then it's half the battle. The fitness industry is about vanity probably at the expense of a long healthy life. You only have to peak a few times in your life for it to benefit overall,.you don't have to keeping pushing your organs in the body, just peak every 5 years.

    Bench angle?

    • @andyvincentpt
      @andyvincentpt 2 месяца назад

      The angle is to position the upper arm behind the torso, putting a stretch into the short head of the bicep (that inserts onto the coracoid process). This creates more length tension specially at the bottom of the curl. The bench could be a little bit more upright and if I’m being picky with my video I’d also have the cable set up a bit higher the the line of pull is directly on the wrist in the bottom position 👍🏼

    Are there any upsides to doing such kind of exercise routines (not taking into account muscle building )???

    • @andyvincentpt
      @andyvincentpt 2 месяца назад

      You can argue that any exercise is always better than none. Even in the world of random workouts, if you are consistent to 2-3x per week, your body shouldn't start to adapt to movement as a whole, so soreness should dissipate.

    How many slow controlled reps should I be able to do before moving to the next range of motion progression

    • @andyvincentpt
      @andyvincentpt 6 месяцев назад

      It really depends on what you want to focus on, more volume or more range. I usually opt not to take them much over 8 reps before going into the next range focus. Then the overall goal can be to do the fullest amount of shoulder extension you have available for 3 sets of 8 reps. After that, I'd start to load them with plates. This is a fun way to have endless progression available to you

    Props, brother. I've never personally deadlifted due to a very bad back that required surgery but have respected those who could. My brother barely ever deadlifted and pulled 685 off the floor in street clothes like it was 315 according to the former owner of our gym who has since passed away. That brother now owns the gym. He pulled it at 220-pound bodyweight. His back is so strong it's ridiculous whereas mine's so weak it's embarrassing. LoL

    from experience, I've learned that not cooling down enough after intense workouts, whether cardio, strength or mixed, your body feels out of sync and hours after, you still feel hot and your muscles feel like they're asking for action. Great video Andy! I wonder if temperature plays a role in all of this. I live in the tropics and cooling down takes more time compared to an airconditioned environment or in a colder climate.

    • @andyvincentpt
      @andyvincentpt 10 месяцев назад

      Yeah agreed. Trying to switch the body's autonomic nervous system response is really the aim of the game. This could be focused breathing, low-intensity cardio, or static stretching with regulated breaths. I live in the Mediterranean, so i also get very hot from a workout i always take 5mins to breathe at the end of a session, and I'm not too fond of it when im in a rush and have to blast straight out of the gym.

  • @Nothing12769

    This method of learning push ups is stupid. On push ups we focus on going down with a proper form, then, going up while trying to push the ground with our hands. If someone really wants to learn how to do push ups they should start with doing wall push ups, then, inclined push ups, then, knee push ups after someone masters all of these then they can do classic push ups too.

    • @andyvincentpt
      @andyvincentpt Год назад

      Your inclusion of kneeling push-ups shows you have no idea how to coach push-ups. Stick to gaming and leave the exercise to people that actually coach this stuff.

      @@andyvincentpt Respectfully, sir you are no better than me. I left gaming a very long while ago and now I do calisthenics, I can do many things like Archer pushups, one hand pushups and hollow body push ups in reps like 20-25, I know what I am talking about and also know how to do the things.

    • @andyvincentpt
      @andyvincentpt Год назад

      @@Nothing12769 funny, so now you're being respectful. If you'd had bothered to look before firing off your first comment, you would have seen this video said Part 2. In Part 1 was an incline push-up. You might have yet to do concentric-only push-ups, but they are a great tool which I'd encourage you to try before discrediting.

      There is certainly a point in which you have to check why you do an exercise. Yes, tweak the technique. But also some exercises just aren't. a great fit for some people. They aren't a necessary exercise selection. You can do many other exercises to train the hinge pattern.
