I am on HRT and testrol. I wish I had been more assertive and enquired re: keyhole surgery etc. I am a nurse and Reflexologist and feel my life has been ruined.

But my cholesterol is borderline 190-200 Through out my life I have been always on lower BP person but in 1.5 years of menopause i am noticing my BP is elevating like 130- 139 upper band 80-90 down band I am so scared. Plus I am generalised anxiety and hypochondriac since 30 years.

      @katehartley7566 16 дней назад

      As I'm not a medical professional, talking about BP specifically is out of realm, however if you are suffering with anxiety that might well be making things worse particularly as your stress hormones naturally go up during perimenopause and beyond. I would focus on stress management such as eating healthily, moving your body with intention, time out in nature, becoming aware of your inner dialogue. If you feel you need deeper support, we can arrange a 20 minute free call - please refer to the psychotherapeutic form in the description box for more details.

I need to change my mindset, which is going to be a huge struggle , I have fasted for 20 years now. Menopause changed everything :( Thanks once again I am definitely going to try your method....it makes sense.

    I switched from black coffee to black tea and also lost the joint pain. I think there is something other than caffeine in cofffee that was causing the pain and stiffness in my ankles and knees. P.S. I also have had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 13. By eating keto since 2014, I was able to get it under control without meds. Recently, I have been forced to become even more restrictive in my anti-inflammatory diet. That means beef and eggs. I stubbornly held on to the coffee but decided to take a break from coffee last week. Within two days, the pain and inflammation left. I know it was the coffee because I only consume 3 things.

    I’ve started with my eating and 2x week strength training. In the menopause transition. My health overall is great, but stubborn belly roll across my middle. My goal is not so much scale weight but getting this largest part of my belly below 35”. Which I know, of course, involves losing/shrinking fat tissue. My goal is to eat the equivalent of my ideal weight in grams of protein each day. Mostly to prevent muscle loss and promote muscle gain.

    • @katehartley7566
      @katehartley7566 18 дней назад

      that sounds like a good plan. Once you're comfortable with strength training 2x a week, add in another session to make sure you're adding lean muscle as well as possible. It makes such a big difference to your overall health.

    Does anyone take Estroven? It's basically rhaponic rhubarb. It actually helped me with sleep, stools and night sweats and vaginal dryness. I'm 61. When i got a bad lot of palpitations i decided to go on HRT and an struggling along with it. It's made my boobs sore and over over sensitive. I don't really like it but I'm feeling other benefits like no tinnitus and sleep is fairly good. And my palpitations got better. I came off the Estroven though which i miss.

It helped to trigger my quarter life crisis but ultimately led to humility and acceptance. At least for a good decade. Maybe those experiences don’t at us often enough to keep us balanced. Our ancestors got them more often. You’re right, we are all too comfortable nowadays.

    I had a hysterectomy via keyhole surgery at age 48 due to a lot of fibroids. Kept my cervix and ovaries. But sadly my ovaries started to fail almost immediately so it became a surgical menopause. I also lost the testosterone my ovaries made. I went on oestrogen and testosterone hrt. I tried progesterone as well but I didn’t react well to hrt- it gave me IBS and histamine intolerance. The only symptom it alleviated was hot flashes. Insomnia, weight gain, anxiety, depression, brain fog, headaches it didn’t resolve. After 2 years on and off hrt I discovered I now have 2 liver hemangiomas and a brain meningioma - benign tumours in other organs. So I have now come off hrt. Both types of tumours grow with oestrogen - even though I was on a very low dose.

      It sounds as though you've had your fair share and more of problems. I'm really sorry to hear it's been such a rough ride for you. I found that hot flashes were linked to what I ate and drank. If I was thirsty, bam! It would set off a hot flush - so did caffeine, alcohol, spicy foods and feeling stressed. Do you have to have the benign tumours removed?

      insulin used to scare me half to death, but once I dove into it, I realised it wasn't rocket science and makes good sense when you consider how as oestrogen falls, we have a tendency to increase cortisol and insulin. And also to understand that muscles suck glucose out of the bloodstream which can help to improve our insulin sensitivity.

    this happened to me too....i put it down to caffeine exciting the cortisol levels in your blood and causing the muscles to tense up which makes you feel stiff.
