How do I get out of the design segment and back to trying to play a normal round of golf. Thanks.
Thankyou for checking the courses out, greatly appreciated, feedback is great and very honest, have been watching a lot of your videos and using the techniques and advice to try and give a more natural and realistic feel. Im also taking into account the distannces and sculpting, i sculpting like ive never scukped before :)
Love your Videos Gforce. Keep ‘em flowing 👈🏻
Thank you! Trying for 1 a week!
@ excellent, I have a 2nd course named Chanunpa Club and I’d love some feedback on it if ever possible. I Love your feedback on all these playthroughs because it helps everyone. 💪🏻
I just finished a 9 hole called Aspen Falls, Colorado USA. Been watching your videos for tips and info. Went too hard with my objects so I could only fit 9 in but this was my first attempt at something bigger and better. Let me know what you think?!! DirtyBird429663
HI, i have just completed 'Lost Island Of Olympia' would love if you could check it out. All feedback and criticism welcomed. Legend whispers of a mythical course., lost beneath the ever-shifting embrace of the Aegean Sea. Once a playground for the Olympians themselves, the Lost island of Olympia is said to rise from the depths every eight years, a spectral testament to a bygone era of celestial competition. Haunted by the echoes of forgotten cheers and the ghostly apparitions of long-vanished spectators, the course presents a unique challenge to even the most seasoned golfer. Mythical hazards guard ancient greens, while the wind whispers tales of Olympian triumphs and defeats. Some say the course is cursed, others claim it grants divine inspiration to those brave enough to conquer its secrets. But one thing is certain: the Lost island of Olympia is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a chance to walk in the footsteps of legends and play where the gods once played.
will give it a look soon!
@GForce41 thank you.
Awesome looking course. I'll be getting a play over the next fee days for sure!
Thank you!
This is awesome. Having grown up next to this course and caddied there this brings back great memories. Well done. Thanks Gary !!
You are quite welcome!
love the historical insight, you really went into a deep dive creating this one. love hearing all the stories, can actually visualize what it must have like been through your highly detailed commentary. Reminds me of the way my grandfather used to tell a story, 'speaking in color' if you will.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. It was fun to piece together the past!

Thanks for the kind words Shane!
Played this course and loved it. 👍🏻 loads of fun and I live in NewEngland (NH) making it that much more interesting.

Just rewatching this. Must get back and rework this course using your tips. Have some time off in January and i'm working on an island course atm, i'll let you know when its finished if youd like to take a look. Trying to make my greens less flat
Where to find the club? I don’t see it in societies?
It's right there on the front page! Top right corner...Casuals Golf Club (Erasergib) over 16,500 strong!

My course El Diablo Yacht Club might be worthy for casuals.
will take a look soon!
I'd love for you to rate my course. Just surpassed 3,000 plays. About to start my third course and trying to get better! Called Moose Tracks GC. Some holes resemble Augusta. 12, 13, 18.
Thanks for reviewing the White Iverson! I always like advice! I think I get better from course to course. Like on this one, someone told me my framing wasn't the best off the tees. So on my last one I really worked on framing my views better... The great thing about the design community is that there's always advice out there if you're looking for help! My advice to new designers is just keep on designing and listen to advice and you will get better
Hello sir, I've been watching your video's for about a week now and I thought they were very helpfull in creating courses for our favorite golfgame. As a coursecreator who is busy for more than 15 years already, I learned a lot in the last week how to approach creating a golfcourse. I thought I was fairly good (not an Arctic fury though) but good enough to produce some fun courses with a view. I discovered by watching your tips I had a lot to learn yet. I made an amount of courses but I guess I can improve a lot in the future, just by listening to guys like you. Just to inform you, my default settings are most of the time: fairway very firm, greens very soft, greenspeed very fast. That is because I like to give the slopes on my greens a satisfying ending when attacking the flags. Although it's not the case at "BOG Lost Landmark GC (B)". Besides playing my courses on my PC with a controller I also play my courses at a Trackman simulator, hitting balls at a screen. That's where the BOG is coming from in my courses names. BOG stands for "Beats of Golf", a company in Antwerp, Belgium where Thomas Pieters (former Ryder Cup player, LIV golfer and (not important) a guy I know in person) is one of the owners (since shortly). They run the 2019 software on their simulators. That's why I started to increase creating courses on this platform. I remastered my older courses to what I thought was playable at a simulator. Some are ok others are quiet a challenge for an even fairly good handicapper. So after watching your video's and some others too (crazycanuck) I began to approach my newer courses with care. Like visuality from the tee, lightning and shadows, treelines, planting, greenshapes, etc.... As I saw you try out courses and commenting the goods and the bads I was wondering if you would take the time to try out my (what I find) my masterpiece creation, so far. I like all my courses but not all of them seem to be playable at a simulator. For example "BOG Royal Spa the Belgique" has 371 plays but is a nutcracker on the simulator. To many blind shots from the tee is my own opinion. "BOG Manicure Island" , "BOG Eye candy heights", BOG Playa Cuba Libre, BOG Playa St.Anna and BOG Golden Ace Park are stunning courses to play on a PC but quiet hard on a simulator (Correction.. Golden Ace Park I played -8 on the simulator. I had a good day and the gimmies were set at 4 meters). I've tried them and it was ok for the score but again to many difficult teeshots to accomplish to a good end. And those courses were made before I learned some vital tips to make a course visually correct. There are more BOG courses to evaluate and to be repaired to be a good course. But I'm aware of that. What I wantend to ask was if you could evaluate "BOG Lost Landmark GC (B)" please... playable at 2019 (the course creator where it was made on because I 'd like to play them on the simulator). That course is ported to 2K21 (and a bit tweaked to be OK for that version) and it's also ported to 2K23 (where I had a ton of work to produce the same product as in the previous versions). The reason I ask for this course is that I made it with the knowledge how it would be on a simulator aswell as a videogame, or also if it would be playable as a real existing golfcourse. (which it is not but the "lost landmark" refers to a real lost landmark as you might discover playing my course. I'm not gonna tell you which but if you are a bit familiar with geography I think you will see it. Something with an Azure Window in Gozo (Malta) To give you an idea who I am... I'm a Belgian gamer with the fantastic age of 54 who loves his golf at the homeclub (and other courses ofcourse) and loves his golf at the indoor "Beats of golf club" from Thomas Pieters. www.beatsofgolf.com/ try this website to give you an idea where I'm talking about. But the bottom thing is... Is my course "BOG Lost Landmark GC (B)" a step in the right direction? Kind regards, Rudi Geubels (aka Bones or Major Bones) P.S.: I always put the name "BONES" somewhere in my courses as a signature. Sometimes in the form of flowers, bunkers, or as in BOG Lost Landmark... stones on the beach. Just saying😉 Looking forward to your reaction, sir. Update: BOG Lost Landmark GC (B) rocketed to 2048 plays in the first week. Guess I hit the sweetspot on this course.
Thank you for the positive feedback, its great to hear they help other designers the way other designers helped me along the way!
Enjoy the comments they educate me playing a course and which ones I end up saving and playing again.
Thank. you!
Thanks for the playthrough! My greens have usually been overcooked because of my color blindness 😂. I would give The Chop another look. It’s probably the easiest course I designed. Way forgiving off the tee with the width.
Oh my goodness! I never even thought of colorblindness, thanks for pointing that out. Will take a look at The Chop, it was on my list but no notes, not sure what happened there.
Hi there, newer designer here and I just uploaded a new course I’ve been working on - Royal Oasis C.C. - Default wind is Southwest. If you have any tips it would be much appreciated! I mostly struggle with running out of plant meter and wanted to get your input on avoiding that.
will try to check it out soon!
Beautiful course! And another great video!
Thank you! TrailDucker did a great job on this one for sure!
Can anyone get in a casuals tournament?
Yes, it's listed as Casuals Golf Club. The administrator name you will see is EraserGib. It's right on the 1st page of Societies too as we are Top 5 or so in terms of size.
I don’t design, but enjoying your course commentary reviews. Can you name a few of your courses? <> Thanks <>
Thank you! Commonwealth CC (Newton), Cuyahoga Downs, Carthwick, Grasmhor, Taconic State Park - Blue, Taconic State Park - Red, Romanov na Murmane
@ Thanks!
Check out my two newest courses, Caldera Cove Golf Club and Castle Ridge Golf Club. I’d love to get some plays on them.
@@scotte664 I'll have a look, I hope you get some people playing them. I've just uploaded my first course the other day called Lemur Valley Invitational, it's just a par 3 course but I was lucky that MonkeyPutter played it and uploaded it on his channel last night.
will do soon!
@GForce41 If you have a chance, it would be great to get your thoughts on one of my recently published courses, Pine Valley (New) by kcsvln18.
I’ll check it out soon!
You have a cool channel and outlet for newer designers to showcase and learn the pitfalls and strategy choices of their designs, really unique and respectfully done, good job man, i always think the biggest mistake and the thing to master is sculpting, forget about planting and assets, once you can sculpt and resist the idea to be too elaborate with hole designs the rest will come in time, i like your emphasis on sight lines that is the key to great designs
Thank you and quite a compliment from a tremendously talented designer such as yourself! Totally agreed on the sculpting. Everything I am reviewing lately is flat, flat, flat. Need to revisit the concept of starting w a plot first on next video.
@@GForce41 hey man credit where credits due, its a channel with a different spin i enjoy it, your welcome and thanks appreciate it, yeah scuplting some elevations at the start of a new plot will certainly lead to a different approach to hole locations and design from the outset agreed
I would love if you could give me some tips on my course. How do you pick courses for quick tips?
Mainly viewer requests, just give me the name and I will try to get to it! I have a bit of a backlog at the moment but will try to get to some through the holidays.
@GForce41 will do! I still have some work to do on it, but I plan to publish it before Christmas. I still have some planting to do to cover up water edges
Just played Commonwealth CC (Newton) beautiful course. I shot -3 pin 1 blue tees and default settings. You are an artist sir!
@@nickwoodworth7638 thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Your videos have helped me alot. I'm sure you get alot of requests, but I'm a brand new designer and would be honored if you could play my course and give me feedback
I think Peter made the greens default med/slow was because that was about the speed back then. I play this on fast greens and high wind and it's a fun challenge. Which lost Ross course are you re-creating?
The current Newton Commonwealth Golf Course. It's not lost but "semi-lost"...it used to be a Private CC called Commonwealth Country Club. Hit financial difficulties and they sold off land and lost a number holes, had to consolidate the remaining ones. I built it to full scale at its prominence, 1941-1959.
Loads of great advice there. Thank you for the critique. When i designed this course i was learning as i went. Having played it since its pretty boring 😂. Agree with everything you said though. Hopefully the next course will be better. Thank you!
Its a big learning curve, you just gotta keep making them, keep getting feedback, learn from other's courses etc. Keep up the good, hard work!
Thanks for all the Quick tips they have been very helpful to me. I.m in the middle of doing my second course (My first was Rock Lynx) I was wondering if there is any way I could send you my latest course for recommendations before I publish it. If your inclined do this Thanks.
Hi Brian, no unfortunately there is not as I am a Playstation guy, not PC. PC you can exchange files. However, you can release a "beta" and get feedback, then update and publish a true final version.
@@GForce41 Ok Thanks
Thanks for still being around G. Golden Pond Remastered and Twisted sister Remastered are out. Currently working on Fantasy Spyglass, will be out next year. Your videos are soooo very appreciated 👊

My 3rd course caldera cove is out. Would love any feedback. Except for the lack of OB. I got too excited and forgot about it; so, keep it in play.😅
will try to give it a look soon!
You often go on about smoothing bunkers. 99% of bunkers i play in real life are full of lumps and bumps and are uneven 😂
Yes, good point! But what I am usually talking about is basic surfacing. Most bunkers are slightly concave. You can tell when a designer laid down a bunker spline or shape and didn't sculpt it at all. OR they overdid it and created a big "bath-tub" like bunker. You want something in between but to your point it doesn't have to be perfectly smooth.
@GForce41 ah thats a valid point. I have struggled with bunkers. I think i try and make them "challenging"
@@roromc182 Yep you certainly don't want to do that, check out my Links Bunkers video for more details. But you don't want them to be more than 3 to 4 high in general (unless you are doing something unusual or very elevated green).
@GForce41 I have a new course up - Lenore's Rest. Feel free to give any pointers. Would be most appreciated
Do you check out courses from first ti.e designers like me?
yes, that's what Quick Tips is for, newer designers
@GForce41 I have one getting close to completion
Love the videos and explanations. Would greatly appreciate a review of my first stadium style course with tournament objects and crowds. Whispering Pines.
will take a look soon!
Laughing at "still warm enough to play golf" 5°C here in Ireland today, hailstones and sleet and the local course was still busy 😂 Great videos, always enjoy them. I've had a go at a few if you fancy having a look. Forest Manor Resort Old Castle Golf Club Feedback would be valuable.
Those would be some hearty golfers...I draw the line at hail and sleet! Might make putting a challenge!
Congrats on the new subscribers! I finally published my latest course. It's called "The Van Buren -Buffalo,NY"... It could be a week day casuals course. It's not tour ready, but if you want to check it that would be cool.
I'll check it out!

Thank you for your dedication and videos. I think im finally figuring this out. Just created 'Old Castle Golf Club' if you like to have a look. Would love some feedback and critique
Quick Tips 15 is up featuring OCGC!
Course looks insanely nice, just some weird things on it. Always go 4 pins! If you want only 1 tee box that's fine, but always use 4 pins
Thanks Shane! Yes, always 4 pins for sure. Have you been designing lately?
@@GForce41 yeah I got one that's just about done. I took a little break from it a while ago though, I just felt kind of burnt out by designing. Hopefully sometime this week I can finish it up. I got about 10% plant meter left so I'm going to go around and hand plant a bunch of grass then I'm calling good. This might be the last one for this game depending on if they announce a release date for the new game
thanks for the kind words shane, would like to know what you considered weird though. and also a list of your designs
Some of the holes were a bit too long. I wouldn't suggest a 300 yard par 3 or a 570 par 4, that's a little too tough. The split green on #3 I thought was odd... Your planting is beautiful though. Try to keep trees out of the way off the tee, show off that great view and nice planting. Was it #2 with the little pond short and left with the big pond long and right? I agree with Gforce, a bunker would've been better instead of the little mud hole. That makes the hole risk/risk with no reward if you use driver off the tee. I'm trying to think of the last courses I've done... It's been a while since I've finished one. "Ro Shogun no Hokori" is a one and "White Iverson Resort GC" I think are the last two I've done. The White Iverson is ok, it never turned out like I pictured in my head. Ro Shogun no Hokori is better. I try to come up with unique concepts in my head when designing but always think, could this work in real life. I can think of my first course's name too, "Whaler's Widows Wail" I think was its name. There are others but I can't remember all the names of them. Some I was happy with and others I couldn't ever get to play right with what I had in my head
@@michelleroberts-z6uI just finished golfing the course. It's tough, I was +8. I set the time of day to morning and weather to clear. Your planting is awesome and your color scheme is beautiful, better than anything I ever planted on my courses.
thanks for all the suggestions and tips, if i can muster the time and mental patience to build another it will definately lean more traditional. looking forward to your new designs, and i hope the NEW pga2k5 considers TACONIC blue for one of their offical course offerings. thanks again for using VERA LAKE on course design quick tips14 and your effort and time as well as the nod to Pristine Vistas. Your season 5 guest appearance was extra special, so on behalf of pristine vistas and my self, THANKS again!
You're quite welcome! Good luck w future designs, keep your creativity and originality, don't feel the need to be too bound by traditional constraints.
i'm glad your still designing, seems like that hole has good bones as the norm for all your designs.
Thanks! Pretty sure that was a Ross designed hole as it looks to have been there since at least the 1930's!
Course looks terrific! With all the design reviews, Have you compiled a list of your favorites? Thanks!
Thank you! Good idea, but no, I don't keep a true list of favorites. But I do have a working list I use to manage Casuals Golf Club and you will notice I do schedule repeat visits to the best and well received courses.
Can you take a look at my course? I'm struggling with fairway layouts and want to see what you think. I have made a few, but this is the first one that I actually spent some time on. It's called Grassman Golf Resort.
will try to take a look soon
there are so many good designers out there, i wish they would put more emphasis on tournement atmosphere, like architex Clonmel, that course just begs for tournement crowds, if memory being an issue just throw some cheap peoples around, i hope you respond with a list of your creations because if i remember correctly, i think you had a course or 2 that i really liked, maybe they were on 2k21. i will send you a friend request so as to be able to search your creations more easily, no worries if you choose not to except.
2k23 courses are Grasmhor, Taconic State Park Blue, Taconic State Park Red, Carthwick, Cuyahoga Downs, Romanov na Murmane
If you meant Allan...his course can be found here on TGC Tours Course Designer profile: www.tgctours.com/Designer/View/51688
Love all your stuff. Thank you so very much.
Thank you and you are quite welcome. More on the way soon!
