As an ex drummer, this is a technique I am particularly fond of. In DaVinci Resolve timeline, tap to the music on the M key. You can then lay down markers and accents to as a guide for cutting and pacing. ruclips.net/video/yAKCEjBRn9U/видео.html

Greetings! The McConaughey spot was a single camera, separate takes. There were multiple cameras shooting the mannequin falling, though it's possible I also used separate takes.

Great video, very insightful. Could you please shed some light on some of the ways to end a music track?
Great question! One tip: instead of simply fading out the music when you want it to end, try using the end of the track even if you have to insert a cut in the music to match your timing.

This is great! Any suggestions on how to change tracks during a scene? And also when to cut the music out and bring it back in mid scene?
That is a GREAT question and deserves a video of its own! One tip would be to bring in the intro of a new track mid-scene. Try and start the new track on a shot that benefits from the emotional lift of a music change.

Like, you could dress it, sound design it, layer it, give it a premium music track with height, width and depth, package it; but the edit calls for a less than serious nature. It calls to average Joe, who’s 51 who doesn’t want to see that 8k color spectrum… he wants M.A.S.H. White wash? When you edit, it’s always for an intended audience right?

There's also feel. It's hard to explain but people who do edit knows the exact frame to cut. You play the clip and hit space as fast as you can the moment you feel it should cut. You'll know it if it's a frame off or it should be a frame more but you'll know that feeling when it's the exact timing to cut.
