It's time to see if the "budget" LS rebuild on my LQ9 LS 6.0 Gen III engine in my 2002 Cadillac Escalade was a success or a mega-mega-fail. In part 1, I did an engine rebuild and everything seemed to go along swimmingly, until it lost oil pressure about 100 miles in. In part 2, I found out I left material in the engine that starved it for oil and spun all of the bearings, so I tried again. And ...

I'm rebuilding my 02 LQ4 right now. Mine locked up at 275k cause the doorman oil cooler lines I put on a month prior failed at the worst possible time. 4/8 rod bearings spun and welded to the crank but the mains managed to escape unscathed. Got a 4 inch stroke forged crank to go in there with forged rods and pistons. Sure it might of been a little cheaper to buy a used one but I like the route of having a fresh rebuilt engine thats a 408 stroker

good video, i'm inspired to tear mine apart..then i think 2 self, no , it works, don't do it, leave it till it starts to make noise. engine almost together, having issues with the bigger oil pump gears.. do you have any vids on that area? also i noticed the suspension [clarks improvement on geometry] your strut rod is on the upper hole, the one i got has only a lower hole. how is your handling? have you tried to put strut rod on the lower hole in the rear end brace?

67 impalas are expensive to build ive had 6 of them in my life currently i have 2 of them i drove a 4 dr sedan "post" car every day for 12 years as a daily driver after putting a ton of money in it all the welding disc brakes modifying all the suspension over to rack n pinion steering tubular control arms i did so much work to make it drive n handle like a newer car and one day not to long ago i was on the beltway leaveing work one day and some guy on a cellphone didnt look n switched lanes into my lane wen i was going 60 mph he was about to slam into the side of my dr side fender so i slammed the brakes yanked the wheel so he wouldnt run into my front dr side fender it was wet out and i slid into a concrete wall totalled it i just finished all the welding on my 69 c10 and now im starting the work on the second one i have it literally looks just like the one u got its black 4 dr hardtop but unfortunately a tree branch fell on it during a storm and smashed the hood down windshield in smashed the upper cowl and dash down it was a huge tree branch so im gonna salvage everything from the sedan i wrecked the upper cowl ect alot of welding the thing that made me mad the most is i smashed up the front corner light on my sedan but my black one has a set on it and i have a spare set i have 3 sets n if u know these cars like i do the front corner light "housings" are hard to find and so are the bumper guards but ive been working on 67 impalas for a long time so i have acquired alot of parts for them.🇺🇲

There is no way there was that much lint from just cleaning the cylinders. Plus, most of the left over lint would probably be burnt or blown out the exhaust. Unfortunately, somehow, something did get stuck. Maybe you plugged the pickup tubes to keep junk out and didn't remove it? I feel your pain. I've had a few engine boo boos myself and they are never fun. P.S. Don't trust plasti-guage. It's close but usually off enough to make me not use it. I "C" mic the crank journal and then dial bore gauge the bearings after torquing the down.

Just a tip, diesel is GREAT at removing sludge and burnt oil. If you can run a quart through the motor before tearing down and keep a small moving tote near by with 5 gallons in it. You can soak your parts for 20minutes and pull them out clean CLEAN
