Kill the Indian, Save the man! The Carlisle Indian Industrial School -CUMBERLAND County
The majority of history is filled with uncomfortable stories. Tales of how we as humans have failed and taken advantage of other for any number of different reasons. While learning about these times does nothing to sooth the hurts of the past, they do allow us a chance to learn. That is the lesson of the Carlisle Indian School. Here children from the Native American tribes were re-educated and had their former culture stripped from them. The scars of which are still present to this day. As I stated learning about it will not heal those scars, but I implore you to do so in an attempt to prevent a recurrence.

For years I've had a fantasy of making a "fooler" feature length film called _The First World War_ that would open with a scene you couldn't tell the era of easily. Just before the opening credits, there'd be a bit of dialog, "What did you say your name was?" "Washington. George Washington." And then the title, accompanied by Knotwork's (Blood Axis's) music for "Wulf and Eadacre", which sounds remarkably like Morton Gould's theme to the _World War 1_ TV series. But I'm not a movie maker and I've few ideas for it other than these gimmicks.

If its something you have interest in I'd suggest looking up "The War that Made America" made by Pittsburgh WQED. I used some clips for my video and watched the series in entirety.

We live in Beaver County. Cook Forest and the National Forest are our favorite destinations for a weekend drive. We go often, so much so we are practically regulars at Cougar Bob's, the Blue Jay Inn and the Knotty Pine. We've been seriously considering a small getaway cabin just to better be able to relax and soak it all in. I used to camp a lot, but these days my 55 year old body doesn't take to sleeping on the ground in a tent any longer.y doesn't take to sleeping on the ground in a tent any longer and the convertible we prefer to go in doesn't have room for so much as a grocery bag let alone a tent when the roof is stowed in the trunk.
