Cook Forest is definitely one of the best State Parks in PA, hands down! But those stars at Cherry Springs😮... I'm definitely putting that on my "to-go" list.
B-E-A Utiful place truly amazing experience. I would suggest you check this sight before you go to se when the skies are most likely to be clear. I only ended up with about an hour and a half window that the clouds split enough to get those photos.

My grandfather's grandfather was the wheelwright of Elizabethtown, PA.
I have nothing but reverant respect for the old wheelwrights, that one attempt at making a wheel was easily the hardest bit of woodworking I've ever done.

Great video! My parents rented a house with a barn and found a horse-drawn covered wagon. My father ordered the canvas covering from Sears, and we kids loved playing in it. When we moved, we begged our parents to bring it with us. They said, how do you tow a covered wagon on the highway?
With a horse of course!

If you love nature and hiking, visit Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton, Berks County. Also in Berks is the Berks Military History Museum. Ty for mentioning Gruber Wagon Works, remember seeing them relocate it to where it stands now, quite a feat..My grandparents owned many of their wagons and are still in the family. Great site, just found it, ty for sharing.
Ah, an excellant suggestion! Hawk Mountain was one of the first videos I did and the sanctuary has an amazing history. I havent heard of Berk's Military History Museum, Where is that?

I just stumbled upon your channel. I watched few of yours videos I travel Pennsylvania extensively. Being a huge history buff geology nerd and a handful of other things. Excellent videos superb narration.

Thank you for your support! The channel is just small potatoes for now but I like what I've been able to learn from it thus far, no intentions of stopping! I'm glad you get the chance to explore the state. Given your interest in geology, I'm curious what your take on Ringing Rocks would be. Still seems to be some debate on the actual cause but I was surprised enough at the theory to talk more in depth about it. Let me know your thoughts!

@@keystonecuriosity I'm from north of Pittsburgh so I haven't been to visit them yet. But I would suggest a video on the old stone iron furnaces in pa.
There are quite a few ruins around. It's amazing some of them used 30 to 40 thousand acres of trees for charcoal over their existence. 30,000 acres = 46.875 square miles!
@@georgedavis6583 That is immense, I knew those would need a lot of fuel but i had no notion of the true amount. I suppose it contributes to the part of PA that was at one time regarded as "The Pennsylvania Desert" which wouldn't have been too far east of you
Out of curiosity, I'll heading up into that area in April, planned to see the Erie Maritime Museum and US Brig Niagara but am looking for sugggetions of what else to do in that area@@georgedavis6583

Old growth👍. If you haven't been to the Hammersely Wild Area and the F H Dutlinger old gowth forest hike, I highly suggest it. Close to Cherry Springs S.P.

@keystonecuriosity I've heard that 2 logging companies boundaries were in the area, and they left a buffer between themselves so as not to cut the others' trees.
For years I've had a fantasy of making a "fooler" feature length film called _The First World War_ that would open with a scene you couldn't tell the era of easily. Just before the opening credits, there'd be a bit of dialog, "What did you say your name was?" "Washington. George Washington." And then the title, accompanied by Knotwork's (Blood Axis's) music for "Wulf and Eadacre", which sounds remarkably like Morton Gould's theme to the _World War 1_ TV series. But I'm not a movie maker and I've few ideas for it other than these gimmicks.
Hahah I'd watch that! Yeah its always been amusing to me to talk about the first Real world war started in PA. Sadly underknown era of American history that i find fascinating. If its something you have interest in I'd suggest looking up "The War that Made America" made by Pittsburgh WQED. I used some clips for my video and watched the series in entirety.

Interesting. Cook's Forrest, wonderland. . .also there is a publicly accessible [true] wilderness not far from there.
The Allegheny Forest in general is an absolute dream for folks like myself. I could get lost in those trees and never regret it.
Pennsylvania looks better than I thought, i normally rarely go past Binghamton new york on it's northern border in new york.

My wife and I love riding our motorcycle out in Western PA !!!! we are in Allentown area and a 3 day trip in the Western pa woods always is a great time for us !!! 😊😊😊😊😊
@@artmchugh5644 I'm not at all surprised my friend! Beautiful area heading out that way. Depending on where you go, theres different kinds of cool things to see if you need a place to stop and stretch your legs.
If you go near Williamsport I love the Little League World Series and Museum they have.

I live near PA and like it. The only thing I might point out is that I don't think they have the money for the roads. They are worse than MD by far.
