Coda (original composition for handbells)
This is my second ever composition! The title "Coda" (the end) describes my graduation from high school, and the piece aims to encapsulate the wave of emotions that comes with that. I wrote this piece in January 2024, and this is a live performance by Bellissimo of Redlands Adventist Academy.
This time I tried to incorporate counterpoint and motivic development into my compositional style and I'm particularly proud of how it turned out. It is my hope that you would be touched by the feelings I have (hopefully) expressed through this piece!

Bach - Prelude & Fugue No. 14 in F-sharp minor, WTC II, BWV 883 (Hewitt) [Score]

0:00 - Prelude 3:02 - Fugue My favorite Prelude and Fugue from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier I'm a big fan of the triple fugue in particular. Hewitt maintains a beautiful tone throughout, and takes the fugue at a more lively dance-like tempo. As expected, her voicing is impeccable.
Chopin - Etude Op. 25 No. 5 "Wrong Note" (Gevorgyan) [Score]

Pianist: Eva Gevorgyan 18th International Chopin Competition, preliminary round 2021 Gevorgyan really nails the "scherzando" aspect in the A section: it's perky, light, and filled with tasteful rubatos. She also brings out some less frequently heard LH tenor lines at 0:36 and 2:27.
Chopin - Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante, Op. 22 (Rao) [Score]

Pianist: Hao Rao 18th International Chopin Piano Competition, second round 00:00 - Andante spianato 04:33 - Grande polonaise brillante An extremely underrated performance from the 2021 Chopin Competition. There's a lot of great stuff going on during this performance, including: The way Rao subtly varies the repeated passage at 3:40 through subtle voicing (he brings out the bottom RH note at 3:4...

How relaxing classical musics are
I didn't see the part on the score where Proctor and Gamble's unskippable Fairy Liquid Ad suddenly appears
Listening in 2025 in the US brings on new meaning, if you can interpret it ;-)

30:23 - 31:44 is personally my favorite part of the second movement. Also the siren part with the trombones is really good too!

ypu can hear ol Lenny . death is all powerful
20:44
The second theme of the first movement is absolutely killing me... so simple, yet incredibly emotional and powerful, especially around 4:12-4:22 where he shortly modulates into the parallel minor key (g-Minor). It's like a short, nostalgic memory of the past. Gosh, I love this man so much.

Give him a break guys he was only 19 when he composed it. Im learning the 2nd movement love it

The second movement is very underrated.
I was just going to comment that. As I get older, the second movement has a beautiful nostalgia that brings a tear to my eye.

This is the music that I would’ve wanted to hear at my birth. 😊
my butt clenched so hard for so long

31:45 … incredible
Chopin : need to add the 4rt movement... uhh yep extremely difficult hanon scales that have the main melody hidden in them and its nice for a pianist who is tired after 20 min😊😊
Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏
Nerd
Viel zu langsam!
Thank you.
10:47 this is the best use of the octatonic scale I’ve ever heard
Such an atmospheric symphony, particularly the first movement. Wonderful stuff.
Are you playing this? Or are you just getting it from other videos.😮
Andras Schiff has the intelligence and spirituality of understanding and performing this very demanding suite of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Mahler interpretado por Bernstein es incomparable !!!❤😢

Cry every time listen to this
第四小節那邊只是單純的雙節號,並不是反覆記號,這影片的樂譜是錯誤的😅
i truly believe that the cello solo near the end is the most heartbreaking and devastating point in all of classical music. as if mahler, who sees himself as the might french horn had tried to speak through his favorite instrument, only to hear a soft, delicate, cello, all alone, call out to death itself.
The theme that the violloncello plays at the end reappears throughout the whole Adagio and disappears again and again, as if fighting its way. I have always called this leitmotif the theme of death. It has a finality that complains and resigns at the same time. It is beautiful and true that it almost tears me apart.
İts soo dramatic

월광 소나타 제가 정말 좋아 하는 곡이에요!
Or better yet, follow his own score and markings. (NY Philarmonic Digital Online.)
The 'oppression' section of the 9th of January movement has to be one of the most awe-inspiring but also horrifying sections of classical music ever written. Reminds me of the climax of the 13th symphony's first movement which has a similarly horrifying subject.
This one of the finest renditions of this I have ever heard. He does EVERYTHING indicated in the score down to the last staccatissimo!
The Beatles are a bit more DRAMATIC and THRILLING than Alkan.

The fugato part is amazing
