If one of the speakers becomes faulty, the system is disabled. P01625 Front Parking Assist Warning Buzzer. I guessed it was the right side one but it could have been the left side. I bought the replacement unit from eBay by searching ‘VW Golf parking buzzer’. The part number is 8E0 919 279.
How to test hydraulic lifters

There is a lot of miss information about when they are good or bad. Some say if they are solid, they are bad. Some say if they are squishy, they are bad. I say let’s find out how they actually work so we can know for sure. In the process we clean them out as well.

It would be great if the EOS sounded a bit more like a GTI same they share the same engine and running gear. We didn’t want it too loud though so just removed 1 of the 2 mufflers, leading the rear one in place. WOW what a huge difference! DSG farts but not too loud when driving sedately.
How to replace the struts on a VW or Audi.

Why does my VW (or Audi) never get to full operating temperature?
Просмотров 23 тыс.Год назад
For a while now my 2013 VW Passat Alltrack 2.0 TDI has rarely reached full operating temperature. I even replaced the main thermostat which is NOT a quick and easy job. Finally, after doing a lot of research I found that this car MAY have another in-line (in hose) thermostat, which could exhibit the same symptoms. I need to service the car so now is a good time to look at replacing the 2nd ther...

I found this video because all my lifters are hard and I didn't understand how they work. I thought they're only supposed to expand and lift when they receive oil pressure. I still don't understand. How is that valve which you press with the drill bit actuated inside the engine?
@@charvakkarpe oil enters through the same small hole and is allowed to enter the chamber to fill the space. Now the lifter is stiff/solid. If the oil can leak out, the lifter becomes filled with air and becomes squishy/soft/spongy.
I looked up another video that showed the internals and theory of operation. The name gives it away, they're lash adjusters, not really valve lifters. It's not like when there's higher oil pressure at higher rpm, they lift and increase valve duration. All they do is expand to take up slack as cam lobes wear down or due to temperature variation. They're supposed to leak out very slowly. The valve which you depress to release the oil is a one way check valve with a ball and spring that's supposed to only be one way. The oil then leaks out slowly through the internal gaps. Now I understand why some valve trains make a little clatter after having sat for weeks, and why that's okay.
@@charvakkarpe SPOT ON! 100% correct. Thanks for sharing.
Great video this info is hard to find. As you say there is also a lot of misinformation
Why did u bother taking out the bushing?
@@scotts6955 because it was very worn. The shaft wears and the bushing wears.
Did you find doing this with both the squishy ones and solid ones fixed both and are all good ones now?
@@dustyfruitypie1633 Yes. In fact I did not find any of mine that were bad. Engine is back together and running perfectly.
@@PetesWorkshop Thank you for your reply. I have some squisy and some hard so will clean them all first before buying a new set
My 14 year old Golf (2010) started to leak last month. I tired hot glue it but it doesn't really work as the glue would get soft and the new part was only $20. It was a pretty easy job, didn't need the funnel, just pour the coolant from the old tank into the new and that's it. One thing though, I wish I didn't touch the washer fluid filling tube because it was so brittle, I just moved it a little bit and a big piece just crumbled.
I wish I had known to do this when I changed out my alternator. It was right there. But it is not as problem yet. My problem was my upper hose on the rad reservoir has a baffle in it and was plugged .it fix my issues imidiately
Any VW DI engine fuel injector service kit will work off Amazon. About $32 USD.
You gotta be a mechanic genius to do this! Not to mention, have the correct tools to succeed in the job. Thank you this your contribution 🫡
do you know what the oem part number was? trying to find the oem thermostat part number and compare it with aftermarket stuff!
Had the same problem on an audi a4 b8, changed the small one, temp does raise and stay at 90 but raises slow. Drops at +5C and lower if i drive downhill for 5 minutes with cabin temp at 21C Are there 2 or 3 thermostats in the 2009 model?
Smart nice video
I know this is an old video but hoping for a reply. My only question is won't this method damage the internal components of the shop vac? Does the shop vac need to be flushed afterwards with staight water? Maybe a silly question but I just don't want to damage the only shop vac I have, which is an expensive milwaukee vac. Thanks!
Getting ready to do this next week. My plan was to clean it up real good with water when done. Don’t see how it would damage anything as long as the housing and filter are rated to get wet
As long as the vac is in ‘wet’ mode it will be fine with just a clean water rinse.
@corptusion I didn't even have the patience to wait for a comment and I needed to use the truck lol. It was over filled (by me) because of a stupid mistake and I did exactly what you just described. I flushed the shop vac tank, hose, and sprayed the underside of the unit with water, ran two gallons of fresh water thru it, rinsed, 2 more gallons, rinsed. Might have been overkill but I did not have to correct type filter for the vac so I just ran it with no filter. It should be fine and the cost to replace the vac if it eventually fails due to this, it's far less than the damage I could have caused by running a 6.7 powerstroke with too much coolant in the expansion tank. But thank you very much for a reply on a 2 year old video! Much appreciated and good luck with your endeavors! @@corptusion
@@PetesWorkshopThank you for the quick reply on a very old video, much appreciated and did exactly that!
hello, the same problem passat b8 2015 manual I'm not sure if this car has such a thermostat?
I’m not sure either. Most likely it does though.
Thank you so much! This helped me fix my washing machine. I didn't have a soldering iron so I bought replacement board for just AUD$25 online. Fixed!!!
Good work. Glad that parts are still available. Fair price too.
Well we repalced the small thermostat today and we now have a warm car so thankyou so much for this

Two things: Before replacing the RPS turn the bowl by hand past 180 degrees one way and then the other. Sometimes the RPS just needs calibrating. The green circuit board in the RPS can be purchased separately. No need to buy the whole assembly.
That easy?? No way. Good job I guess
can i reuse the turbo oil lines if they are not damaged?
Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with us 🙂
@PetesWorkshop Hi Pete. I had the same situation today. Car suddenly stopped changing gears. Did the usual procedure i.e. disconnected pole, waited a little, connect pole back, press brake, turn on, heard gear box calibrating at full capacity.....BUT just a dash on screen and still can't change gears. Note that Auto and Battery are NOT flashing. Everything is normal except for that dash on board instead of indicating the gears. What are your thoughts? What's the reason? What to check next in your opinion?
@@vkouroub it is worth trying to connect battery jump cables to another vehicle (with engine running) to ensure the voltage is good.
@@PetesWorkshop Tried it multiple times and nothing unfortunately. "Dash" instead of gears showing on board. Battery started flashing and car is in eco mode although i charged it (the battery is 1 years old). Did a diagnostic test and P1351 fault appeared. Cleared the fault retried the same. Checked fuses all good. For some reason the sensodrive refuses to calibrate even with 14+ volts from jump cables. I have no choice but to bring the to Citroen dealer workshop.
@@vkouroub I’m out of touch with this car for a couple of years now sorry I can’t offer any support.
Is there a part number please. My 70+yo mums' F@P is throwing Error 136. (10001000) I can't fault find stuff on a circuitry board, as my eyesight isn't the greatest (inherited from mum.) I'm hoping to buy the part and replace it outright. Any leads to a part number are greatly appreciated.

Id like to think you have a vacuum leak somewhere its common on this engine to have a rear main seal leak that causes a vacuum leak any codes ?
Typically the pcv valve/diagram fails and blows the seals out
I suspect you guys are correct. I will spray brake cleaner into the rear main seal to confirm (the engine idles up). No current codes but it did have relevant codes to bad PCV before I cleared them.
