    You apply the urethane adhesive warm, like 90F. Also, you do not spackle it down, you leave it in the peaked shape that the v cut gives from the tube and you mush it down by pressing the window into the body so you get 200% contact all the way around the window . The adhesive only has about 10 minutes open working time so that portion needs to be done quickly.

    Nice job! The laundry shoot is a great idea! Not sure if I would replicated it the same way but maybe? The idea that the laundry flows to an out of the way area in the garage is awesome! I was intrigued by the wheel well covers which you didn’t mention? I never heard of a Rhino liner, and I don’t see a link for it ? Is this a solid material that you attached to the back of the wood panel or a material that gets rolled on like paint? So many good ideas! I love the vegetable/fruit hammock, and what seems like the biggest issue for most people is a fixed shower vs some kind of pop up or erectable shower stored in a cabinet. I was kind of set on a fixed shower, but now that I have seen your solution and the fact that I most likely would never do any winter time travel, I think that replicating your solution would be the best, and would allow for a shorter wheel base. Maybe, adding a cedar slat floor mat that could be rolled out would keep your feet off the ground? Now, given that I’m 61, I just have to get the courage to try building out a van!

    Cool fact. This is how to easily make a igloo survive the whole summer starting from the spring until next winter. 1. Make your igloo Icy. And 2. Use some very thick insulated white tarps and cover the igloo because providing insulation for the snow igloo allows the cold air from the snow to be completely trapped keeping the temperature inside at below, freezing at all times, and keeping the heat from outside and the wind from entering in and because of the thick insulated tarp being coloured white, it’s reflecting the sunlights heat keeping the suns heat from entering in underneath. Get a thermometer and put it in your igloo and you will see the results after that and that the temperature inside your igloo is still below freezing and keep in mind, the more thick layer, white tarps you add on top of your igloo, the more your igloo is going to survive even warmer temperatures. Thank you 😊

    Nice job on the video. Thorough coverage of the process, not a glossy marketing wannabe video. Wish they had a no-drill solution for the mount. I do like that you don't have to remove your hinges and add "spacers" there. Also looks like the license plate is obscured enough to get you a citation - so it would be nice if they offered a relocation holder for that.

    After driving the Alcan 100 times over 40 years, i have never once seen radar. No one is being targetted. Also the ww2 hanger in Watson lake is awesome. The village bakery in Haines Junction. Atlin Bc, 1 hr detour is where Alaskans escape too. Whitehorse, miles canyon, where the Yukon River is actually green. Kluane Park, monster mountains and beautiful lakes You may find there are smaller crowds, more wild camping, cheaper groceries and restaurants in the Canadian portion. Take your time. Cheers

    I like the idea of a camper van, and maybe if you're alone living and traveling in a van is okay, but I can't get past not having a shower inside and toilet inside. Like a wet bath with the toilet on something to slide out or literally anything with a hint of privacy if I am sharing a van. I just cant' fathom going to the bathroom where I cook with my partner watching from where we sleep LOL

    You mentioned a different reason for doing the vertical "studs" on the walls. But there's a bonus. The vertical supports create far less thermal bridging since the wood only minimally contacts the metal. Much better than if you ran the supports horizontally down the ribs, which would have the wood in 100% contact with the metal, thus lessening your insulative properties overall. Good choice.

    Hey, I know this is pretty old but im wondering if you will answer this question: I am about to start framing my ram promaster and I was wondering if you filled the smaller triangle holes that you out the ends of the 1 x 4s in with anything? Did you insulate it or how did you cover it up? Thank you in advance!

    • @LKseims
      @LKseims 10 месяцев назад

      Hey!! If you're talking about the triangle holes near the floor, they are surprisingly deep! So we stuffed any scrap insulation/emptied extra spray foam cans into them and then had the closed-cell spray foam ppl fill in the rest. (But also, they drop below the floor of the van so idk if insulating them is that important, we did anyways just in case 🤷‍♀️) And as for covering them up, when we attached a sheet of plywood to the 1x4s it hides all of that:) Let me know if that made sense or if you have more questions!! Congrats on your van build 😁🙌
