Not the best period of Simple Minds' work. From Life in a day to New Golf Dream, their work was avant garde and highly creative. They made a 180° turn and started to get very very commercial which is a shame. Today, people remember them for Don't you (which is not even theirs), instead of Big Sleep and that's very unfortunate.

I LOCATED THIS BUILDING THE "ARTIFACT." WELL, IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE THE CASE. THERE IS A SIGN, "WARNING, HUMANS BELOW." THEY ARE APPARENTLY LOCKED UP FOR NEFARIOUS PURPOSES, AS IN WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY. I WISH MORE THAN ANYTHING SOMETHING WOULD JUST CHECK IT OUT; IT'S ON "TRELLICK ROAD" IN THE U.K. IT THE ABANDONED "BRUTAL ARCHITECTURE" OLD BUILDING SITE. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE IT; IN THE VIDEO BOYS ARE TRYIING TO ESCAPE; THEY ARE CAUGHT AND RETURNED. IT'S STRANGE... CREEPY, AND I WISH SOMEONE WOULD JUST "LOOK." THE VIDEO IS IN THE 70s; IT APPEARS. THIS VIDEO IS MUCH LATER.

Miss those concerts, everybody's having fun, jumping and dancing. Nowadays it's all seated!

The keyboard flourishes in this version are just amazing, just like in the original demo. Wish it would have been kept in the album version. Maybe they heard it and felt it just didn't work, same for the bass which was compressed in lower but still worked. It may have overpowered the rest of the tracks as it was. Their song, their album.....still one of my fav SM songs ever.
