One of things that needs to be considered is that Xenogears is very much a product of its time. It's not just the risks of financial management, but narrative. I played this game as a baby when it released and it is by far one of my favorites if not my favorite JRPG story. Look at other remakes, however. Not even something like FF7 remake series could keep and maintain its darker elements. For Xenogears its dark elements are vital to its atmosphere. Even if they made a miracle and remade Xenogears, it would lose all its hardest hitting magic for me. I fear a remake, because remakes tend to eliminate the risks in a story and make the story more bland because of it. That's just my thoughts though. I want everyone to be able to play it, but I already know that the remake they would create would get rid of the color the original had.

Any body else getting a yellow tint over the intro? skipping past seems to get rid of it but also skips the intro

Some fantastic games played this year. You definitely have plenty more to look forward to. Im in the same boat too. Still so much to play. Will be replaying rebirth though again hahah

I never expected anyone would ever want to use my art for anything like their channel avatar/socials! 😲 Even if it's just like...me copying XG's (Tanaka's) style 😅 even still, it makes me so happy hearing that it fit with what you were looking for and that you like it so much 😄 I really liked hearing about your year, hearing how the games you played and the subjects they touched on affected you, helped you through a tough time, or changed your perspective on something. It's the kind of thing I've really started to pay attention to a lot more in my own life ever since playing Xenoblade for the first time and in subsequent games since. How much of a positive impact these stories can have on our lives, even if it's as simple as giving you comfort during hard times. I don't see many people on RUclips talk about *that* aspect of playing games for the first time, like usually it's all focused on their streams and reactions and less so on the quiet deliberation that happens across the months or perhaps even years afterwards. Because like, that's exactly what happened to me with Xenogears a full *8 months* after I played it and it continues to be a big positive influence on my life since. Like, that game is the reason I'm still an artist today! But yeah, that's a really cool addition to add to your year-end Nishquik Talks videos and something that a lot of people would really enjoy in future years to come, I think. Happy holidays! Just found you through your Xenogears Perfect Works tutorial and have been watching your other content. You just seem like a chill dude which is a nice change to a lot of this platform. Unfortunately I never played the Xenoblade saugus I wanted to but I mainly played PlayStation in a little Xbox and unfortunately never got my hands on that but I did get to play xenogears and it is one of my favorites RPGs of all time and I do believe it deserves a remake as good as they can give it

A lot of the games I've played this year were either older releases, or were games I have started years ago and just beat. I've hardly played any new releases this year. My gaming backlog is massive! Some of the games I've played and beat this year are: Super Mario RPG Remake, Earthbound, Cannon Spike, Silent Hill, Sonic Rush Adventure, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, Sonic X Shadow Generations, and Elden Ring.

I actually played less new games this year, but that was on purpose. I decided to replay somethings i haven't touched in a while like the 2 Golden Sun games or replaying FFVII Remake in time for Rebirth. It was nice, but also challenging because there's alot i wanted to play. But I'm also trying to be more budget conscious as well.

Even though this was a very down year for Nintendo, we managed to have one of the best gaming years yet! Here’s to broadening our horizons even further in 2025!! Or if Nintendo brings the heat, here’s to getting back to our roots! I’ll be along for the ride either way lol

I'm so confused about the "texture replacement" renaming. Do we rename the folder to the file we received from the Perfect Works patch? If so do we need to make a copy of the texture replacement file for both discs?

I gave the 1 and 2 a try but the gameplay mechanics is too complex for me. But I am looking forward to Xenoblade Chronicles X next year. It looks really good.

I agree that a remake is not in the cards. But with Xenoblade being so successful, maybe (it's a long shot) SquareEnix could work with Nintendo on a Switch exclusive remaster instead of a full remake. Perhaps they could do something about the ending. I've never played Xenogears, and I find myself putting it off in hopes that someday we'll get a more complete version.

Disc 1 should get a widescreen remaster or 2D-HD remake. Then make Disc 2 its own game.

Can I patch the game on my android handheld without windows or am I going to have to get and use winlator for this game patch?
