Metal/Punk/Hardcore/Death not 1 of those types of bands are known for having fans that are hateful assholes, yes there are a handful of Darwin award winners that are the poster children for a condom ad. Chuck as you mentioned, Corpsegrinder and the toy donations, he does a lot more than that. You have a better grasp of the group of people I have been around since 1982.

I think in general the stereotype is wrong. However metalheads aren't immune to the usual anti-social traits that humans in general have an issue with. In particular how they see their opinion about music. I am 59. I was a professional musician and sound engineer for 20 years. I have a strong sense of music appreciation to the point where I know and understand what I enjoy in art is not what others may enjoy and I can acknowledge well played, well written music when I see it even if I wouldn't put headphones on and listen to it in my spare time. Somehow, along the way metal adopted 30+ genre/sub genre labels when it used to just be "metal". In the process of that some people adopted those labels as their religion even though I suspect many of those labels were/are just marketing BS. That's where you get the "metal gatekeepers" who's favorite phrase is "that's not metal". It's bad enough that I often don't answer questions online asking "who is your favorite metal band" because of the absolute firehose of nasty, ugly comments from people who I can only imagine are insecure about what they personally like to listen to so they proceed to insult everybody else's choices. This isn't unique to metalheads but metalheads aren't immune to it. These people think the art they enjoy is the only art and it's some fact that everyone should agree with because it's not just their opinion it's fact. The comment sections of social media posts from metal magazines featuring one band or another are usually full of these people tearing the band and the people who listen to them down. Those people are metalheads, not Taylor Swift fans who took a wrong turn. More people need to push back on them.

I find the vast majority of metalheads are good people. Yes, there are some that are arsehats. But that’s the same with every ‘group’ of people. I just take people how I find them. People just love to stereotype. And we all do to some extent. But we all need to grow and learn to see past it. \m/

Well, I'm not going rule out that ALL metalheads are hateful people. But the ones I've seen and met has been genuinely nice people.

I get that stereotypes are useful for evolution / survival reasons, but I can't imagine sitting down, talking to someone for 5-10 minutes and my opinion of them not diverging from my initial stereotypical guess about that person. To be honest, I'm usually judging "preppy" types as being a bit shallow, but often find common ground once I have a one-to-one chat with them. Interesting that you're a vegetarian. I've been a metalhead all my life, and vegetarian for 25 years. I recently started eating meat again though. Health reasons... Straight edge is cool though, I don't drink, and I would never do drugs.

As a black metal listener, i am not hateful. You know. Metalheads are people that listen to the music, they don't have a specific type of thinking or the ideology they would follow. So pretty much all of them are different. Some may be party animals, some may be calm and overall just nice to talk to, and some just blend into the society while keeping the metalhead nature. It's important to seperate us, people, from the music = metal. Because music is music. It doesn't necessarily mean that we are hateful and that we worship satan. (differently with NSBM since... well, yeah. I guess when you write songs about Nazism you mean it and not just for the music itself.)

Attack on Titan is my favourite tv show, my metalhead brother and I love playing Warhammer 40k, binge watch the LOTR extended edition once a year and I enjoy reading a bit of Dante's Devine Comedy now and then. Anyway, Rock On Elvenqueen.

I understand there's a fashionable hysteria about equity, but being "groped" as a man is different; don't let's go with the fashionable madness. It's not the same because it's not invasive or intimidating, as when a man would do that to a woman, it's a big deal, reprehensible. Reverse seems like kind of a different gesture, harmless and annoying at worst. We don't actually have to say things are all the same for men and women, it is a mass madness as happens in the world, particularly when it becomes overcivilized. We concoct controversy to be miserable, as is our habit. It's just politics. Groping women is invasive and indecent. I'm not saying that as some kind of "anti-sexist" or whatever, before the mgtards start up.

I've never listened to Napalm Death because I had already heard Repulsion's Horrifed and Terrorizer's World Downfall. Only grindcore I like, as far as I'm aware; they juat made ND sound superfluous to me.

I'm in my 50's and back in the 80's we didn't even call them battle vests, they were just a uniform of non uniformity. I'm starting a project of a new battle vest as mine got lost to history and bad relationships. I came across your channel while checking if I'm too old ha. We did used to sew our patches on with dental floss rather than thread back then, just a couple of stitches each side holds strong.

Have you read Harry Potter? I'm not enthused, but as I'm learning German I'm to read in German; never imagined I would-I was the only one in school that ignored it. Have you read philosophy? You might like Occult Philosophy e.g. Jakob Böhme or Mr. Ouspensky, and the less technical Mabel Collins. Increasingly, I feel I can prehend subtler aspects of reality from reading certain things. It's been said it finds you. "Occult" just means hidden; they even use it in medical terminology. I don't mean Satanic stuff. Pardon if rambling again, thanks for the video.
