What’s the battery life like when using on the trail?

Thanks so much for doing this video! I have a HoverAir X1, and while it has some OK moments it is overall a disappointment on our tight trails with dense vegetation (most of our trails are similar to what is shown in your footage at around 6:40, if not even closer and denser). I have found that I have to ride SUPER slow and also stop to go back and retrieve the drone after it inevitably crashes. Over and over and over. I also have to ride so slow that it results in pretty boring footage of my already boring riding 😆. I’ve stopped using the X1 for MTB even though it is quite good if you stay within its design constraints. A while ago I backed the new version X1 Pro (not Max), and am hoping it does a better job. I just learned about the Neo recently. It’s cool that DJI has come out with the Neo with a good feature set at an incredible price. It also appears to work pretty well overall based on your testing. I actually think you could probably pick up the speed to normal, but expect to help the drone find you more often. But then you could assemble a decent video with good editing. You just wouldn’t be able to “ride your ride”, but honestly you can’t do that no matter how you’re capturing non first-person video. Hopefully the competition between DJI and the makers of the HoverAir will result in even better options sooner than later.

You seem to have had a lot more issues than other mountain bikers with this. Maybe the dark top makes it harder for it to track you? Also, when starting it off in follow mode pointing in the wrong direction, you need to pass it further away or more slowly for it to track and turn around. If you try again, put a bright top on and let us know how it goes. 👍🏻 I should be able to get out next week for my first ride with my Neo.

Really honest test. Maybe u can test the typical Instagram shot. Where the drone is not moving but follows in the rotation while u riding past the drone.

I love it. I got mine but i would be careful my speed actually on MTB. Hopefully DJI would do something about the resolution? Like 4k/60fps that would be great for the coming firmware. Thanks you earn my Subscription. Keep it up.

doesn't this drone have a beacon?

I have a Skydio and it has excellent tracking but its hard to concentrate on and enjoy riding while worrying about where the drone is.

Been watching so many videos of the Neo and the new Hover drone and I'm realizing the Neo is too slow. Would be cool to have a wrist band or something the drone can follow rather than some pixels it thinks is you.

As a slight correction, I was actually eight years old when I had to do the purification rundown and was propped up proudly as the youngest person to have ever done it in Europe (as of the year 2000). I do think one of the reason why parents let their child go through such things is because of status and to show how great their child is. I feel that children who do well in Scientology become a badge for the parent to show off to other Scientologists. Maybe not in all cases but in many.
