Air Matters - Harley Davidson 2021 Snake Venom Road Glide Special
I have Tri Glide and added the hd torque cam and tuner, no dyno , made all the difference. Nice to see trikes getting upgrades also. Cycle Rama will be next in my Road Glide , 480 or 483. Your videos really are informative for making the decision correct the first time.
I've been dying to see if you guys can wake up a trike. I'm nearly certain it's my next step and comforting to no you make it run !
Dave do you think this 508 cam would work good in the new 2024 117 with its larger 58mm throttle body and the upgraded heads with the stronger valve springs already from factory, or would the fueling 521 cam work as well? Thankyou
Apparently these are no longer produced. Cannot find them for sale anywhere online, even Jim's Facebook page has had no activity since 2020. Maybe I dodged a bullet on this cam.
I am going to install a cyclerama cam in my 2022 SgS. Do I need to spend the money on the cam plate and the oil pump. Looking to improve my torque. Changing everything low but the cam plate and pump...
You do not need to replace your stock cam plate and oil pump on your 22. Harley fixed the problems with them in 2020 . If you do use an s&s or feuling oil pump, be sure to use the oil pump to main bearing seal.
@JDsCycleWorks I think I'm just going with what I have in there already with new cam, adjustable rods and new bearing.
I bought an AN Inverted air breather after watching your stuff months ago Dave for my RKS.Im glad i did.Im looking at the MT now. Thanks for the great work sir.
Thank you!
Partial throttle is more important than WOT.We arent at WOT very often on the road.
My experience with the 475 aint good.22 Fat Bob,v&h big shots,SE heavy breather.Sounded great, went great when youre on it but the bike wanted to carry a gear lower. It wanted to rev.It was not nice just off idle when leaving the clutch out in 1st.It was road tuned.
It sounds like it needed proper tuning,
@JDsCycleWorks Maybe but a well known tuning shop in the US said to me that 70% of their phone calls are to do with getting the 475 dialed in.
Interesting, I dont find tuning that cam in any diferent from other cam. It tollerates compression a little better than some higher torque producing cams so less timing work is required.
@JDsCycleWorks Timing work? Can you elaborate on tmwhat timing work is and why it might be needed Dave please? Is it ignition timing?
Another great one Dave. Keep them coming. Appreciate you sharing.
What KW pipes are you using full 2'' or Dominator 2-2 thanks David for all you do keep up the awesome work 👍
I recommend the full Dominator systems with the louvered or spoon type baffles. If a customer has a good slip on muffler and wants to keep it, we will recommend the aggressor head pipe by khrome werks.
No question Dave has learned his craft from learning the best techniques and tool use so he avoids the problems of the newbie technician who most always use a power tool to assemble/disassemble. From a machine shop and mechanic 25+ years experience this is textbook perfect. Thanks James : What lifters are you using?
Thank you!, We use feuling race lifters on our builds.
@@JDsCycleWorks Thank you Dave I think you are the best technician/Gearhead in the entire Harley after market builders space. Be well from James B.C. Canada 2019 RKSpecial 114.
@@flamenco1 Thank you!
I need that CR586 or 568 cam for my VVT 121. Gonna have to plan a week off and bring you my baby. Great numbers on this one tho💪
Sounds like the owner of the bike needs a no loss filter
I have the 480MT in my 124 130/146 Great cam Just wish it didn’t sign off at like 5200ish But I did the hp cam thing before and sucked riding around at 4k all the time (rather the time I wanted to be in the power ready).. even tho it says 1800-5k or whatever on the MT.. on my bike at least it really wakes up at 3500 HARD.. (tq curve on dyno is a table top from 140tq at 2200).. it’ll PULL from like idle tho.
JD it’s a 2020 road glide 114
I do enjoy your videos JD and my question if and I do run a extreme hi flow and what would you suggest that flow better and don’t laugh but I have the 447 cam and Reinhardt slimeline header with the 4inch DBX mufflers
Very interesting Dave. I know the “right” exhaust set up is critical for the best results, the trouble is finding the best sound & look and still get the numbers 🤔 ( on the first try).
Have you done a Thundermax vs Impact shootout on 23.5 and newer bikes? If not, is that something you would do?
Great video
You a hard worker man! I appreciate it. You answer some of th questions. I'm thinking about. Thank you!!
Thank you!
Dave thats fantastic. That's what I need for my fatboy 107! Do you think it would work as well with Screamin' Eagle Street Cannons, or are they too restrictive? thx for the vids.
I have a 2023 Road Glide 114 stock engine with a Trask Turbo. Because of the turbo lag, I’m considering the CR480MT to help counter it. The turbo is a hp maker as you probably know.
I’d check with cyclrama on that one. They do make a turbo cam
@@geraldgoodiii6993 Trask use 475 S&S & 550 on stage 2 kits & they sent a Dyno sheet on it. So essentially they’re isn’t a per se “turbo cam”
Will those cams work in a 2004 95" twin cam?....it already has fueling 525 cams, they seem to be a midrange cam. Would the tts100 be a good upgrade and noticeable torque increase, seat of the pants?...
I have a 95" twin cam with 525 fueling cams on a 2004 road king. I love every the new road king and the m8 114, but idk what I'm gonna do, freshen up the 95 t.c. or put that money towards a new road king and get a pipe and cam chest kit....the 95 runs really good....
484??????
Bloody great work.
Thank you!
I have that same pipe (but tab medium baffles ) 480mt 124 11:1 130hp 145tq.. 140tq from like 2200 or something.. Tq curve is a damn table top not a dip in sight.. Mind boggling that a 2-2 would do that. Solid pipe *im gonna swap it for a 2-1. But still if u want 2 pipes out the back and not a ghost pipe .. that KW2-2 is really good and will perform on a 107 or a 124 or bigger
C&S said you cant do math on FB when i mentioned it...Jason might need help understanding UNDER THE CURVE and how the math equates...LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
That was a short and sweet video. 👍That 107 makes my 2018 look pretty sad. Mine came in at 113 tq and 102 hp using a Red Shift 468 cam S&S 2-1 exhaust and DK 585 air filter. Obviously I did not select the correct combination of parts. Thanks Dave and Jay.
I have that same cam in my 107 to 124 build. But I have the tab performance with zombies baffles. The builder said should go with a different pipes for better results. Guess that’s what will be my next purchase. Dave what pipe do you think will pair well with the 107 to 124 build with the cr483 cam?
I wish I was closer to you. Thanks for a great channel.
Thank you!
I made the trek to their shop3 yrs ago from Minnesota. It was totally worth it. Dave and Jay are fine people.
Thank you!
Thank you for the great information. Hopefully you will get to do 114 trike with a good cam. Great as always.
Can’t wait to see the CR480mt results. I just finished my install on a 114.
More TQ and less HP
@@gnd111 certainly not less hp than stock. I’ll post Dyno numbers when complete.
@@gnd111 you meant when compared to the cr483, got it.
Wow, that’s amazing. Thanks Dave.
Thank you!
What do you think of this cam in a 122 stage 3 kit?
This cam will work great in a stage 3 122" kit.
Haters gonna hate but CR cams are solid!
Just got my 22 Rg limited back today. Cr483. It's amazing. With s&s sidewinder vo2 intake. Sounds so good!!
What baffle did you go with in these?
I used the quieter spoon type Khrome werks baffle with this job.
There is a shop in Florida that uses this can quite often and always gets great results.
We all know who that is
Nice job! What type of seat is that?
Is a 480 lift with stock springs gonna cause wear thats an issue?Something to worry about?I think they say 485 is the highest lift with stock springs but sometimes the real world can say otherwise
You will be fine running the stock valve springs with the 480 cam.
@JDsCycleWorks Thank you sir
I thought it was just my pressure gauge not reading right. Lol
Great meeting.
@DS - what KW Head pipe is that?
Hello sir.Is there any lope atall compared to stock with the tts150?
Man he’s ceiling lights is lighting up my room via zoom. Crazy!
This is one of my guys I ride with motorcycle he swears by Dave I am patiently waiting for my appointment I know my bike will run 10x better than what it does now
That motorcycle looks familiar. Lol can't wait to get mine to the mad scientist
There are no shops in my area like JD. I'm thinking of shipping mine to him.
Would this be a better low down torque cam than the 447 SE?Will the power and throttle be linear all the way through like a stock bike?
The TTS 100 cam will be simular torque in the low rpms as the HD torque cam but it will carry a lot further with more mid range torque .A properly tuned bike will be smooth in every area of the riding range with out any hesitations or dead spots.
@JDsCycleWorks Thanks sir.I asked as the 475 in had in my 114 Fat Bob had a horrible soft spot when going from a stop to just moving let's say.V&H big shots exhaust.A 2-1 may have been better as I heard that the 475 is very exhaust sensitive. This tts100 has me interested
@JDsCycleWorks What's the lift of the tts100?
@@JDsCycleWorks I have a 2024 Road King Special now
