Is a great venue
Pandas are badass
Mine is the 106 rallye Thanks for the review ❤
I got a toyota yaris myself, however there is something special about it. It has an iMT gearbox which isnt produced a lot specifically for this car. It is basically half automatic with proper manual gearshift, but without a clutch since it’s automatic. It brings extra feature like launch mode (kind of, since it holds at 2000 rpm), beeps in reverse. And others i might find in future. It is a 2000 model 1.0 liter. I will not sell my car no matter what.
Got the 2014 SE model of this car, it's super nippy around the city and fuel efficient
I myself bought my citigo from new in 2013, it has now driven 378,000 km without any problems, only wearing parts and timing belt have been changed ☺
I love mine I've got the monte carlo one and it's fablous
Brilliant car, very good. Perfect car for anyone, not just "first car". The gearbox is garbage though (reliability and durability)
You should actually walk round the card tho mate it’s like you show the car then just walk away
Noted. Apologies.
Keep clear the fucking things sioda citigo
Paßt nach England, bauen auch nur Schrott 😂😂😂
What's your verdict on the Aygo 2019?
I love this model twingo... esp the RS version!
The RS version is amazing!
Love the reviews mate, we need more of these cars and Reviews for first time buyers, as for me i got the chervolet aveo in 2012, super cheap in tax and its bigger than these cars but the 1.2 eco engine is so boring. But it have a sporty look and still going strong from when i bought it new. Will we see a suzuki Swift in the futrue Maybe? 😅
Thank you, appreciate it! I have a friend with a Swift, so who knows...
Lovely car! Had a 1.2GT for many years. So much fun after remap!
I've heard those turbo engines are good fun!
The 2017/2020 smart for 2 Electric Dr. was based on the Twingo.
That's true, weirdly.
Good video. I've had my 09 Twingo 2 GT for 12 years and nearly 100,000 miles now. They are great little cars. Mine has 124000 miles on it now. Never had any big issues / problems with it. It's still on its original clutch too, even after spending most of its life in and around London. The GT has the same 1.2 engine as your dad's but with a turbo. They were 100 bhp from the factory, but most of them seem to have been remapped to 125bhp, including mine. But on the other hand, the GT only does mid 30's around town and mid 40's on the motorway. Plus the road tax is nearly £200 a year. I noticed your Twingo is longer geared than the GT too. 70mph in a GT is 3500 rpm, 80mph at 4000rpm. (On the GT basically the red line is every 25mph. 1st gear hits the red line at 25mph, 2nd at 50mph, 3rd at 75mph, 4th at 100mph, 5th at 125mph). There is one thing about the horn though; it affects your muscle memory. Before I had my Twingo I had a Peugeot 106 for 7.5 years. It had the horn on the end of the indicator, the same as the Twingo. I drive a Sprinter van for work sometimes. A few years ago, someone cut me up in the van. I went to blow the horn at them. But I pushed the indicator in, as that is what I'm used to. I just ended up breaking the stalk on the van. I noticed the backboard is missing on your car. The board is fitted onto the boot lid where the brackets are. (The one you used to close the boot with). (On mine you can raise or lower the seat which can help with the driving position. There is a little lever under the seat on one side, it works the same as an office chair. When you are outside of the car pull the lever and the seat shoots up. Sit on the chair and pull the lever up, the seat drops until you let go of the lever. But I'm 5ft 11 and I have the seat all the way back too).
Thank you! I've heard great things about the Twingo GT, they sound like great fun. Pretty similar power figures to my Panda 100HP. The parcel shelf on our car doesn't quite fit, I think it must be from a Clio or something... Didn't know that about the seat, I'll look into it.
One of the best channels out there. I'm not a fan of modern cars in general but the twingo is one of few that i love. I always think back to Clarksons test of the renault sport version years ago. Nearly sure it was the mark 2. Cool car
That's really kind, thank you Andrew! Clarkson's review was with a MK2, I must rewatch it at some point. Would certainly make an interesting video trying to drive ours upside down in a tunnel...
@DanielDrives and into the sea😅
Your car sticker says: Go Brittany!’ So I assume it went few times to that lovely French region. 😊
Ahhh okay! That's good to know, thanks :)
All these tiny shoeboxes on your channel. Got to kit you out with a proper old American land yacht! Nice work!
Haha, it's relatable content! ;)
I really loved your style of presenting, this video was exceptionally well made and it feels like you are reading a script but in the best way, making remarks and pointing out the features and the specs of the car. Also love the panda, cheers from Italy 😊
I appreciate that, grazie! :)
Kidnappery 😂
Hahaha...
Well done, another entertaining video. Keep it up. Bit weird people want to see you test the boot space like that!
Haha, thank you! :D
A great review Daniel!
Thank you!
Hi Dan, I am planning to buy a Mitsubishi mirage/space star hatchback as my first car. What do you think? It has a very low cd value and great poppy 1.2L 3 cylinder engine that can work even in -30 celsius degree according to a Canadian youtuber.
It will probably be very cheap to run so that can't be too bad as a first car! I don't know a great deal about them if I'm being honest, probably worth reading/watching some other reviews online.
Thanks for the answer @@DanielDrives
THANKS FOR A' BEAUTiFUL ViDEO!! 😉👍😏
For a young lad you have great potential as a car reviewer and you will definitely go places so keep it up. Myself I’m an old fart as I’m in my late 50’s I’ve driven many cars over the years and I’ve always found smaller cars more fun to drive. I recently bought an Up gti and it’s one of the best little cars I’ve owned.
Thank you, I sure hope so! I really love the Up GTI, it's a car you can extract everything from and still be within the law.
I like the Twinkgo... er, Twingo.😀 But it looks like that center gauge cluster was designed for LHD, and they didn't mirror it for RHD?
Hmmm, might be! I'll have a look at that next time I'm in it...
Door handles always get people on this car as well.
Very quirky design.
Just wanted to comment that i got a car just like this as my first car. 13 plate in white. I bought it last year with only 2000 miles on the clock. It’s done me well and i’ve enjoyed it. 3500 miles later wishing i got my licence sooner and driven more.
Wowzers, that's super low mileage! Look after it :)
Excellent Dan. You have a talent for this. I see a lot of these cars in NL.
Cheers Gary!
Hi Dan, Harley here! Happy to see the little twingo is treating you and family well! Once you spot those left hand drive wipers you will never unspot! Much worse on the Peugeot 206, I'm sorry you'll never unsee it! Happy travels!
But even worse on the second generation Scenic in my opinion
We love it! Great little car :) We got a slightly longer wiper blade for the driver's side which has definitely improved the corner it missed previously, big improvement!
i have just bought a second hand clio 2013 reg was very close to buying a twingo, i think i should of gone for the twingo now, great video.
The Clio is a slightly bigger car which is a plus 🙂
The Fiat Panda 100HP - the car that will make you not want to own a car! :P Brilliant vid as always, love your natural delivery and character in these! :) Was only slightly expecting you to lock yourself in the boot... :P
That’s true! I just love my Panda too much! 😅 Thank you Simon, glad you enjoyed it. Getting stuck in the boot would’ve been a big problem…
I don't want to seem rude or a rabid Toyota fan..and I know that Renaults are the best French car brands... but.. for this money I can buy 2 Toyota Yaris MK2s in perfect condition, or 3 Toyota Yaris MK1s... which are somewhat more reliable than this Renault. Maybe I don't understand something, but this is my opinion. but! I still want to try Clio. ..either someone will talk me out of it or I will buy it)
Not everyone wants to drive a Toyota for whatever reason.
You’re not being rude, you raise a decent point. We had a Mk1 Yaris a few years ago, we bought it for £1200 and it was mint. However, similar to many other Japanese cars, it became very susceptible to rust :/ So yes, a Yaris would have a more reliable engine (depending on the example!) but it would be much more corrosive and in the more expensive tax bracket. We did look into it :)
@@DanielDrives so is the 2005 Renault Clio less rusty than the 2005 Yaris?.. I didn't seem to notice that. Volvo S80 rusts less, I know this - because I had it myself. It was made in 2000, and in 2019 it had NO rust at all
@@DanielDrives Would have to agree here, used to have a MK.1 Yaris and though it was a great car, it definitely had rust issues. The Twingo's I've seen from people I know definitely seem to have held up a bit better.
Another great vlog Daniel, it’s like chatting with a mate. Renault have always had good seats, the most comfortable car seat I’ve ever sat in is a (way before your time) Renault 9, that included some so called luxury cars! If it’s not too rude how much did Dad pay for it? I’m with you on white cars. They look great when sparkling but a pain in the butt keeping them that way 😮 Best wishes, David
Thank you very much! I’m glad it comes across that way :) They have, I remember doing huge road trips as a passenger in our old Scenic and Laguna and they were always so comfortable on longer journeys. We picked up our Twingo for about £1850 from memory, a very good price for the condition! 90k miles on the clock.
Hi 👋 im viewing from New Zealand. Im in my sixties in age. I like French cars. We had them here in limited numbers. We assembled Renault and Peugeot models in the 1960s/ 70s. The Renault 12, and Peugeot 504 sold well. My favorite French car is the Citroen ID / DS models. There were many recent cars on show there , and not so many oldies . The Citroen SM is stunning , very nice in that plum red colour. No Simcas on show ? Thanks for your video. From Carl.
Yep definitely one huuuge show!!
I definitely need more than just a day next time!
I met Chris at a petrol station recently and spoke with him about his podcast which I had happened to be listening to. Very interesting interaction I'd like to make a video about it.
I really enjoy his podcast each week, like having a conversation with your mates.
Hi Daniel hope your doing well. Great video. I really like how you are true to your self and don't try to be someone else. Really interesting video. Love all of the Mini's. Keep up the fantastic work. Best wishes, Michael. (:
Hey Michael, thank you very much, that's kind of you to say! :)
Great video mate
Thanks! 👍
Early Lagunas were a fantastic design inside and out 🤩
They definitely were!
Great show and vid! I must get to an NEC show (maybe the Restoration show would be better for me!!) as dad has been going and filming for many years
I haven't been to the restoration show yet, I really must!
I didnt go this year, as the last 2 years its been really disappointing in that it was 70% Fords and not much else. But looks like they did change that ratio this year.
Oh definitely, the variation was insane.
Went on Sunday , as well , and I usually go on the Friday , think the most busiest day is Friday ,less busy Saturday (i think) less less busy on Sunday , Great opportunities to take photos videos etc . My favourite best car of the show, had to be the BMW E32 735 i S E 1990 white
Very good choice, I enjoyed seeing that!
Looks like a great show, I think I need to get to that next year! Renaults in the 60s/70s were know as R5, R12 etc, so they've brought back the old naming with the electric 5 :) After what we said on the podcast, that C63 is definitely /not/ a classic car, it could only be 13 years old, tops! Beware the Boxster, it's cheap to buy, but wait until something breaks... Nice to see Euan too - and no bleeps required!
You really must, you'd love it! Whilst the C63 isn't a classic, it certainly will be in the years to come. The last of the truly great AMG V8s. Can't beat them! Very true about the Boxster...
Another video of this show. Not sure I can cope watching another 😂
Hahaha, this one is better! 😉
Yeah it was better!
Insightful, thanks 😊
My pleasure!
Was epic seeing you! Yes , thank God you didn't come on the Saturday as it was mega busy! It's probably better to do a few days next year hahaha ☺️
Good to see you too! Hopefully I’ll be able to do the full weekend next year 😄
You totally missed the baguette bashers club stand 😂 , was some beautiful cars on there
Ahhh apologies! How could I?! 😉 it really was a great event
