Messe Pour Les Couvents - Couperin - IX. Basse de Trompette
The basse de trompette is a technique where the melody was stated in the bass with the trumpet stop used along with a 4' Prestant (Principal or Octave), while flute stops provided soft accompaniment. Here, I use the trumpet stop with the 4' Principal on the Great Manual, and for the accompaniment, the 8' Stopped Diapason, 4' Flute Harmonique (Harmonic Flute), and 4' Swell-Swell coupler. I perform this work on the 1901 historic Felgemaker Organ at Our Lady of Divine Providence-St. Casimir, Milwaukee.

The Dialogue Sur La Voix Humaine is a dialogue where the melody starts out with soft flutes, and the vox humana stop is used in the right hand, and basse in the left hand. Love the video. I worked at Summerfield for 5 years handling audio/visual and building maintenance. I would sometimes play this organ when nobody was around. I miss Summerfield.

Yes, it is. Mathieu Lanes was a French organist during the Baroque Period. He was at the Cathedral in Toulouse and lived from 1660-1722. The next time I post a more extended work of Lanes, I will make an effort to include more biographical information about him.

It's Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish on Milwaukee's East Side. Yes, it's very good for the sound in a beautiful setting. The organ is a 1998 two-manual 27 rank Robert Sipe with tracker action. I really enjoy playing on that organ and playing horn in this church. Thanks for the question. I hope to more subscribers to my channel. More videos to come.
