Three Dances from Het Verde musyck boexken - Tilman Susato - I. Ronde III. Pavane II. Salterelle
Belgian composer, Tilman Susato, was a cornettist, and flautist during the Renaissance. He was also a music publisher in Antwerp and traveled Europe over the years. His most significant collection for brass is “Het derde musyck boexken” dating to 1551. The three movements in this work are Ronde, Pavane, and Salterelle. The Ronde is a round, Salterelle, a saltarello, an Italian dance, and the Pavane is based on the French chant, “Si Par Souffrir” (If By Suffering), which is in D Minor. In all three dances, the melody is stated by trumpet.

Out of the Suite Francaise et Irlandaise, I perform the Prelude, Duo, Recit et Basse de Trompette ou Hautbois, and Toccata and Chaconne. I use Adore Te Devote and Be Thou My Vision in this work as I perform these four movements on the 1979 Wicks Antiphonal Organ at St. Mary Parish in Burlington, WI.

I saw a drawing of what this organ looked like without the pipes being covered. They are beautiful.
Love the video. I worked at Summerfield for 5 years handling audio/visual and building maintenance. I would sometimes play this organ when nobody was around. I miss Summerfield.

Yes, it is. Mathieu Lanes was a French organist during the Baroque Period. He was at the Cathedral in Toulouse and lived from 1660-1722. The next time I post a more extended work of Lanes, I will make an effort to include more biographical information about him.

It's Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish on Milwaukee's East Side. Yes, it's very good for the sound in a beautiful setting. The organ is a 1998 two-manual 27 rank Robert Sipe with tracker action. I really enjoy playing on that organ and playing horn in this church. Thanks for the question. I hope to more subscribers to my channel. More videos to come.
