  • Mozart may have not liked the flute, but he composed some wonderful works for the instrument. In 1777, Mozart composed the Flute Quartet No.1 in D Major as a commission for a Dutch patron, Ferdinand Dejean. This work is one example of Mozart's excellent writing that had to come from someone who appreciated and understood the instrument.
