I hate to hear that he had such a bad experience with that church. Not all Churches of Christ are the same! If that church was teaching that there’s “power in the water,” then they are way off! There are some Churches of Christ out there who are so focused on telling people what they *can’t do* that they lose focus and neglect to instruct and encourage people in the love of Christ and teach them what they should do. I wish you had asked him to elaborate more on his bad experience at that Church of Christ. Especially on what he meant when he said at the beginning about the guy from the church and that “He didn’t like me.” I’m sure there’s a lesson to be learned for any member of any church if you listen to someone who leaves a church because they don’t experience the love of Christ. I’m glad to hear that Adam has been set free from addiction through Jesus! That’s the only way to truly beat it.
Too many Christians are unaware that modern Judaism is an entirely different religion than the Law of Moses. The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia (1943) says this: “The Jewish religion as it is today traces its descent, without a break, through all the centuries, from the Pharisees. Their leading ideas and methods found expression in a literature of enormous extent, of which a very great deal is still in existence. The Talmud is the largest and most important single piece of that literature … and the study of it is essential for any real understanding of Pharisaism.” Concerning the Pharisees, the 1905 Jewish Encyclopedia says: “With the destruction of the Temple (70 A.D.) the Sadducees disappeared altogether, leaving the regulation of all Jewish affairs in the hands of the Pharisees. Henceforth, Jewish life was regulated by the Pharisees; the whole history of Judaism was reconstructed from the Pharisaic point of view, and a new aspect was given to the Sanhedrin of the past. A new chain of tradition supplanted the older priestly tradition (Abot 1:1). Pharisaism shaped the character of Judaism and the life and thought of the Jew for all the future.” So modern Judaism is actually “Phariseeism.” And we know Jesus said that the Pharisees are “of their father the devil” and “of Satan.”
At the Transfiguration Moses was present to represent those who will be raised from the dead at the second appearing of Jesus. And Elijah, who was translated without seeing death, represented those who will be changed to immortality at Christ's second coming and will be translated to heaven without seeing death. At the Transfiguration the promise of seeing the Kingdom was fulfilled.
The event that Christ is talking about in Matthew 16v28 is the Transfiguration, that is why some would remain alive until after they behold that event.
People do not understand your Bible so if you go back you’ll see from the beginning they witness Jesus they handle him and they walked with him so either you’re mentally challenged or delusional but this scripture one John chapter 2, verse 19 is talking about apostles. They weren’t all apostles. That’s all that saying every time you people get your own understanding scripture you manipulate or make the other scriptures not true, so be careful when you’re reading the word of God this verse is only talking about apostles. God for knowledge knew that those he chose to be apostles would continue Paul and James and John so therefore you people breast scriptures out of context because that’s what you like to do. That’s all you can do. You can formulate your own opinion on the Scriptures but it manipulates the other scriptures. That’s why you guys have issues.
@@paulgross3067 actually it is talking about the spirit of antichrist
Revelation 22:6 says, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants THE things that must soon take place.” Notice it does NOT say, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants THAT ALL things must soon take place.”
Behold, the kingdom of God is "NEAR AT HAND" sin and death shall not pass away until all these things take place. did Christ not defeat and death at the cross? did he not say it is finished? Did he not say my kingdom is one with no observation?

As far as I am concerned, The key verses in understanding who is Israel and who is the church is found in Galatians 4... 28 Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. 30 But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” 31 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman. Paul speaking to a church that has both Jews and Gentiles says, ALL OF YOU are like Isaac, YOU ARE ALL children of promise. He does not separate Israel and the church, he links us all back to Isaac. We "both jew and gentile" are the True Israel, The true Church, the True Elect of God. It's 1 "people" not 2.

List of things that will prevent you from being saved, even if you are a faith-alone professing "saved" Christian: Galatians 5:19-21, Ephesians 5:5, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Hebrews 10:26, Revelation 21:8, among others.
@@UserBR-v6l adding works of obedience for justification compromises the gospel of grace
@TheApologeticDog Your theology will not save the willfully disobedient. The Bible clearly states they will not be saved, as listed above. Fear God and obey.
@ you need to repent of your works based religion and trust in Christ alone
@TheApologeticDog I do trust in Christ alone. That's why I obey him and do as he says. And you can't make me do otherwise.
@ are you justified when you have faith in Him alone or when you think your faith has worked in obedience to the ceremony of baptism?
Good Bible study. While I’m only half way through, I don’t think you’re taking the allegory to its necessary conclusion. You’re interpreting the church as spiritual, heavenly Jerusalem, mother of us all, born from above, etc…but then your interpreting Ishmael, Hagar, Sinai as a literal nation. Paul is writing to a Gentile church who were falling back into the law. Ishmael represents ALL humanity trying to keep the law, just as Isaac represents ALL those of faith.
Thanks for you thoughts! My point is that believers are the children of promise not the nation of Israel
@ Totally agree. I just wanted to get your thoughts about those who represent Ishmael and Sinai. It would seem to me Paul is warning the Galatian church they’ll end up being children of Hagar, allegorically speaking, if they continue to flirt with the law. The point is that it extends well beyond just the nation of Israel.
@@TheApologeticDogIn fact, it just occurred to me that Ishmael was not the ancestor to the Jewish nation. He became the progenitor to the Arabs. That does complicate things quite a bit, but at least it does not limit Sinai in Galatians 4 to Israel.
Matthew 16:28 says, "Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.” BUT the very next verse in Matthew 17:1 says, "Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; 2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him." Jesus shows the three disciples His Kingly Glory in the Transfiguration. Revelation 13:5 says, "The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over EVERY tribe, people, language and nation. 8 ALL INHABITANTS of the earth will worship the beast-all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life." Are you telling me people in Africa and South America worshipped the anti-christ in the first century? There is ABSOLUTELY no historical evidence whatsoever to support that. This did NOT happen in the first century.

This was so helpful. I have heard so many takes on this and, coming from charismatic teachings most of our life, we have always heard that there is a ‘special plan’ for Israel. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as replacement theology, but I’ve learned a lot. I’ve also recently begun digging into covenant theology, and WOWZER what an eye opener. We also spent 20 years under dispensational teaching, and didn’t even realize that was influencing our teaching. Thank you!

Are you implying that ethnic Jews that have been saved by Christ have a special category over non-Jews that been saved by Christ?
@@TheContemporaryCrusader Romans 11:17 Now if some of the branches were broken off, and you, though a wild olive branch, were grafted in among them and have come to share in the rich root of the cultivated olive tree, 18 do not boast that you are better than those branches. But if you do boast-you do not sustain the root, but the root sustains you. 19 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 True enough; they were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but beware, 21 because if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. 22 Therefore, consider God’s kindness and severity: severity toward those who have fallen but God’s kindness toward you-if you remain in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. 23 And even they, if they do not remain in unbelief, will be grafted in, because God has the power to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut off from your native wild olive tree and against nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these-the natural branches-be grafted into their own olive tree?
The types and shadows only refers to the rituals of the mosaic covenant, not the the entire old testament.
If this were true then Adam couldn’t be a type of Christ like Paul says in Romans 5 neither could the Ark like Peter says in 1 Peter 3.
@@samuelharris1689 I'm talking about the way it's used in Hebrews. You're thinking of foreshadowing in a literary sense. Hebrews 10:10 Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come, and not the reality itself of those things, it can never perfect the worshipers by the same sacrifices they continually offer year after year. This is the basis on which many Covenentalists make the entire Old Testament fuzzy and uninterpretable on its own. This type of interpretation goes back to Augustin who was influenced by Gnosticism.
So true Jeremiah! The N.T. wasn’t meant to replace the O.T. It was meant to shed more light upon it. “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (Jn. 1:17). No wonder Paul described the salvation of God’s people as being grafted into one tree by faith in Christ alone, and how they are the “true Jews” or “spiritual Israel” by faith (Rom. 2:29; 4:11; 11:17, 20, Phil. 3:3, Gal. 6:16; 3:29, Rev. 2:9). God didn’t replace ethnic Jews or national Israel with His church (an error of replacement theology). Instead, He expands His church, builds His church and adds to His church, throughout redemptive history (Heb. 3:3-6). For the gates of Hell cannot prevail against His spiritual house (Acts 2:47, Mt. 16:18, 1 Pet. 2:5). Jesus has always been the Rock foundation of His church (Deut. 32:4, 2 Sam. 22:3, 47, Psa. 18:2; 27:5; 31:3, Isa. 8:13-14, 1 Cor. 3:11). Therefore, the everlasting gospel that came to the Jews first, is made effectual in a remnant from EVERY tongue, tribe and nation. Including ethnic Jews (Rom. 1:16; 11:5, Mt. 28:19, Rev. 5:9; 14:6).
With that said, I can't help but wonder if God is still doing something major in the actual, physical land of Israel (God's judgment, maybe). Because, once again, the whole focus of the world seems to be going back on that area. What are your thoughts?
Is the OT fulfilled? Yes. Only those that are in Christ at the true Israel.
@@paulshireman7692 I agree. I'm just wondering why God is allowing so much focus to go back on the very land where Jesus was crucified.
Canaan is the heavenly land. The land Abraham left was Ur and the land he looked forward to is Canaan. He did not inherit Canaan in his lifetime, but he will at the resurrection. Heavenly means it's source is from God, not that it's not physical.
@@EternityinOurHearts316 I believe the heavenly land is an everlasting possession, not a temporary one.
@@TheApologeticDog Canaan is everlasting
No, Romans 11 says the gentiles are grafted into the Olive tree and Olive branch is Israel and the olive branches are ungrafted for not believing in Christ! So how can they be one in the same? Also, Luke 21:24 Jerusalem will be trodden down by the Gentiles until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled ! Daniel nine The 70th week of Daniel, the last half deals with God, turning his attention back to the Jewish nation !
@@jjphank thank you for your thoughts :)
@@TheApologeticDog only twice Out Of like 175 times is the word ‘Israel’ metaphorical, so it means the Jewish nation, jewish people! The fact that Israel’s back in the land, according to Isaiah 11 a second time, the end of the world will come. I tell people all the time you get all the Jews out of Israel, the Bible is no longer true, because the end of the world will not happen as the Bible says. Matthew 23:36-38 Jesus curses the temple “ your house will let be left to desolate“ and so the temple came down 40 years later and He says they will no longer see him till they say “blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord“ the triumphal entry already happened in Matthew 21, so it’s not talking about that!
The Tree is Christ... converted Jews are the original branches, and then gentiles are grafted in branches... but they are both branches... they belong to the same tree... They are the same thing. It's not like one is a branch and the other is a vine. There are also many branches, not one for Jews and One for Gentiles. No,There are many branches of jews and gentiles. And all these branches belong to the same tree, therefore they are the same israel and the church are the same thing.
Proof the 70th week of Daniel was fulfilled in the past: Based on Hebrews 12:22-24, the Messiah’s death in Daniel 9:26 cannot be separated from the New Covenant fulfilled by His blood at Calvary. See the words "church" and "mount Sion" and "new covenant" and "Jesus" and "blood" in the passage. Are we supposed to believe the angel Gabriel appeared to Daniel to reveal the timeline of the Messiah who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and then the angel failed to even mention the New Covenant. Or, is the covenant with the many in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the many in Matthew 26:28? The 1599 Geneva Bible is the Bible the Pilgrims brought to America, before John Darby showed up on our shores about the time of the Civil War. What was the earlier understanding of Daniel 9:27 found below in the notes of the 1599 Geneva Bible? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dan 9:27 And he shal confirme the couenant with many for one weeke: and in the middes of the weeke he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the ouerspreading of the abominations, he shall make it desolate, euen vntill the consummation determined shalbe powred vpon the desolate. Daniel 9:27 And he (a) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to (b) cease, (c) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (a) By the preaching of the Gospel he affirmed his promise, first to the Jews, and after to the Gentiles. (b) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection. (c) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against God, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them. ===== Romans Chapter 11: In its New Covenant context... There is no Plan B of salvation outside of the New Covenant Church in this passage. Plan A is found in verses 23 and 24. In Romans 1:16 Paul said the Gospel was taken "first" to the Jews. This time period can be found in Matt. 10:5-7, and Acts 10:36-38, and Gal. 1:14-18. Many try to claim God never gave the Jews a chance to accept Christ, so there must be some Plan B of salvation before or during the Second Coming of Christ. Romans 1:16 proves they are wrong, since Paul said the Gospel went "first" to the Jews. Many ignore the fact that Peter addressed the crowd as "men of Judea", and as "men of Israel", and as "all the house of Israel" on the Day of Pentecost, when about 3,000 Israelites accepted the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. The Gentiles were not grafted in until several years later. This passage proves Paul was right about the Gospel being taken "first" to the Jews. Were all of the Israelites "partially" hardened in Romans 11, or were part hardened and another part were not hardened? The answer is found in the "remnant" of Romans 11:5. Paul reveals two different groups of Israelites in Romans 9:6-8. There is an Israel of the promise, and an Israel of the flesh. This is part of the context of Romans 11. Paul speaks about the "remnant" of Israel in Romans 9:27. This is also part of the context of Romans 11. Paul starts Romans 11 with two different groups of Israelites. In verse one Paul reveals he is still an Israelite, even after his conversion. Then Paul refers to two different groups of Israelites during the time of Elijah. There were the Baal worshippers, and there was the faithful "remnant". In verse five Paul says there is also a faithful "remnant" of Israelites during his time. This must be the Israelites who have accepted Christ, as on the Day of Pentecost. Paul uses the two olive trees as a symbol of the New Covenant Church made up of believing Israelites, and believing Gentiles grafted together into the same tree. The unbelieving Israelites have been broken off but can be grafted back in through faith in Christ in verses 23-24. Verse 26 is the problem for many modern Christians. What does the verse actually say, and how is it changed by many in the modern Church. I have heard two of our nations famous preachers say the following. "And then all Israel will be saved..." I have heard another say the following. "And all Israel will be saved..." What does God's Word, recorded by the Apostle Paul actually say? Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: The English word "so" is translated from the Greek word "houto", which is an adverb of manner, instead of an adverb of timing. Some have changed the word from "so" to "then", in order to change the meaning of the verse. How will all of the "remnant" of Israel from Romans 9:27 be saved? The answer is found in the verses that precede verse 26 and are found below. Rom 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. Rom 11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? Paul quoted from the OT in referring to the Deliverer coming out of Sion to pay for sin. Did this happen at Calvary, or will Jesus die again for His people in the future? Rom 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. Verse 28 can only be understood by looking at how Paul started the passage. He started with two different groups of Israelites and he ends the passage in the same way. There are two different groups of "they" in verse 28. One group of "they" reject Christ and are the enemies of God, and another group of "they" are the election which accept Christ through hearing the Gospel and faith. Rom 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. Based on Luke 21:24b-28, the times of the Gentiles comes to fullness at the Second Coming of Christ. This agrees with what Paul said in Romans 1:16 about the Gospel going “first” to the Jews.
@@SpotterVideo you can’t separate his death on the cross, and his kingdom coming -the new covenant kingdom will come at the time of the church age basalia is the word in Greek , His kingdom coming and the church are synonymous with each other! This makes no sense... Ishmael was never conisdered to be Israel... Why does he state Ishmael is israel and Isaac is the church??? Nooooo Isaac is Israel and Ishmael is a pagan... Again this makes no sense whatsoever. The significance of Ishmael and Isaac is that Ishmael is the 1st born, Isaac is the 2nd born.... 1st Born signifies born of the flesh, natural birth... 2nd Birth is the spiritual Birth, those who are born again.... God chooses the one who is born of the spirit and not born of the natural flesh. The 1st born is a slave to sin, the 2nd born is free from the bondage of sin. Same with Cain and Abel. Cain is 1st born, Abel 2nd born... God loved Abels sacrifice because he was of those who are born again. Same with Esau and Jacob, God loves Jacob because he is the 2nd born. He is the one who is born again. This is why God loves David and not Saul. Saul is the 1st King, David the 2nd King. God loves David. Even Jacob, he loves his 2nd wife not his 1st wife. And the one who saves his brothers comes from the 2nd wife, who is Joseph. It's a pattern. Even Jacob when he blesses Josephs sons, he blesses the 2nd born not the 1st born.
Thank you for your comment :)
@MrRainone99 You are correct, Paul does not refer to Ishmael as Israel and Isaac the church. Two covenants, two cities, two seed types, and two mountains, no mention of Israel. Technically, Israel (northern kingdom) was scattered among the gentiles after the Assyrians conquered the northern kingdom. “The Jerusalem that now is”, if we were to associate that statement with a people, would refer to Judah, or “Jews” of the southern kingdom (Judah and Benjamin tribes), not Israel. Samaritans were considered gentiles, and also referred to as “the lost sheep of the house of Israel”, as opposed to the Jews who were of the house of Judah.
@@TracyVanwyngaarden-l9s actually the present Jerusalem was cast out like Ishamel and only believers are represented by Isaac :)

God Bless you for speaking about the New Covenant. New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the questions below? Who is the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Who is the “son” that is the “heir” to the land in Matthew 21:37-43? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary? What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. God is not now a “racist”. He has extended His love to all races of people through the New Covenant fulfilled by His Son’s blood at Calvary. The Apostle Paul warned against using “genealogies” in our faith in 1 Tim. 1:4, and Titus 3:9. If the New Covenant is "everlasting" in Hebrews 13:20 and the Old Covenant is "obsolete" in Hebrews 8:13, why would any Christian believe God is going back to the Old Covenant system during a future time period? ==== Who is really teaching “Replacement Theology” ? (Did God fulfill His promises to the Jewish people at Calvary? Matthew 26:28, John 19:30) The advocates of modern Dispensational Theology often accuse others of promoting “Replacement Theology”, or some may even say “Antisemitism”. What does the Bible say about their accusations? 1. Who is replacing Christ as the seed of Abraham through which all the families of the Earth would be blessed in Genesis 12:3, with Abraham’s modern descendants? (See Paul’s interpretation in Galatians 3:8, 3:16.) 2. Who is replacing the one people of God in John 10:16, with two peoples of God ? 3. Who is replacing the one seed (Christ) in Galatians 3:16, with the many seeds? 4. Who is replacing the children of the promise in Romans 9:8, with the children of the flesh? 5. Who is replacing the word “remnant” in Romans 9:27, with the word “nation”? 6. Who is replacing the faithful “remnant” of Israelites in Romans 11:1-5, with the Baal worshipers? 7. Who is replacing the word "so" in Romans 11:26, with the word "then"? 8. Who is attempting to replace the Church made up of all races of people, with one made up only of Gentiles? Why did Peter address the crowd as “all the house of Israel” in Acts 2:36, when about 3,000 Israelites accepted Christ on the Day of Pentecost? 9. Based on Hebrews 12:18-24, the New Covenant cannot be separated from the Messiah’s death. Is the covenant in Daniel 9:27 connected to the Messiah’s death in Daniel 9:26. Is the covenant with the “many” in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the “many” in Matthew 26:28? If it is, some have replaced the New Covenant in Daniel 9:27 with a future covenant made by an antichrist not found in Daniel chapter 9. (See the 1599 Geneva Bible used by the Pilgrims.) 10. Those promoting the Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology often accuse others of teaching “Replacement Theology”, but are they the masters of it? Are they promoting a form of Dual Covenant Theology based on race? (See “genealogies” in Titus 3:9) Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? 11. Watch the RUclips video “Genesis of Dispensational Theology” to see the origin of this man-made doctrine, which is less than 200 years old. It was brought to the United States about the time of the Civil War by John Nelson Darby. The doctrine was later incorporated into the notes of the Scofield Reference Bible, and then spread through much of the modern Church. Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas Texas was created in part to promote John Darby’s Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology. Lewis Sperry Chafer, the first president of Dallas Theological, had the following to say about the difference between Israel and the Church: “The dispensationalist believes that throughout the ages God is pursuing two distinct purposes: one related to the earth with earthly people and earthly objectives involved which is Judaism; while the other is related to heaven with heavenly people and heavenly objectives involved, which is Christianity.” Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dispensationalism (Dallas, Seminary Press, 1936), p. 107. Chafer states that, ‘Israel is an eternal nation, heir to an eternal land, with an eternal kingdom, on which David rules from an eternal throne,’ that is, on earth and distinct from the church who will be in heaven.” Lewis Sperry Chafer. Systematic Theology. 1975. Vol. IV. pp. 315-323. John Walvoord, another prominent voice of Dallas Theological stated… "...it is an article of normative dispensational belief that the boundaries of the land promised to Abraham and his descendants from the Nile to the Euphrates will be literally instituted and that Jesus Christ will return to a literal and theocratic Jewish kingdom centred on a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. In such a scheme the Church on earth is relegated to the status of a parenthesis.” John F. Walvoord, The Rapture Question.1979, p. 25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are there two peoples of God in John 10:16? (See also 1 John 2:22-23, 2 John 1:7-11.) What is the land promise to the Old Testament Saints in Hebrews 11:15-16? (See what Joshua said about the Old Covenant land promise in Josh. 21:43.) Based on 2 Peter 3:10-13, is this earth “eternal”? Will it be replaced by a new earth? Based on Acts 2:36, and Romans 9:6-8, and Romans 11:1-5, and Hebrews 12:22-24, and James 1:1-3, can faithful Israel and the Church be separated into two different groups? Who is the New Covenant promised to in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and is it fulfilled by the blood of Christ at Calvary in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 12:18-24? Will modern Orthodox Jews ever be saved outside of the New Covenant Church, if the New Covenant is “everlasting” in Hebrews 13:20? (See also 2 Thess. 1:7-10) If the New Covenant has made the Old Covenant “obsolete” in Hebrews 8:6-13, why would God go back to the Old Covenant system during a future time period? The prophesied re-gathering of Israel didn't really kick into gear until May 14, 1948. This certainly IS prophecy fulfilled nearly two thousand years AFTER the first century. Jeremiah 30:1-8 says, "For behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,’ says the Lord. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it...For it shall come to pass in that day,’ Says the Lord of hosts, ‘That I will break his yoke from your neck, and will burst your bonds. Foreigners shall NO MORE enslave them." This says, the Jews will come back to their land NEVER to be enslaved again. Hitler and his Nazi regime enslaved the Jews in concentration camps and tortured them brutally to death. Six million Jews savagely murdered. The whole context of this passage is God will bring Israel back into their land, NEVER TO BE ENSLAVED AND TAKEN FROM THEIR LAND AGAIN. This says, NEVER AGAIN. It definitely happened with Hitler and the Nazis. So, this was a prophecy that ABSOLUTELY was NOT fulfilled in the first century.
Of course baptism in, with or by water does not save simply because it is a good work to be baptized after a person is called into the kingdom of God, as in Acts8:25-39; Ro.8:28-30 and Eph.1:3-14 for example. No one believes unto life until after God did the good work of saving by grace at His call... not fallen man's call, at God's call. Acts13:48. Furthermore, these 4 prophets called by God are always, repeat, always ignored as God's method of salvation. These 4 were redeemed, saved by grace, born again while yet unborn in their mother's womb. Where was their "free" will to reject redemption and these never heard of Jesus Christ since these were all called and redeemed before Christ arrived 2000 years ago... all were OT prophets. These are Jacob, Ro.9:13; David, Ps.139; Jeremiah, Jer.1:4,5 and John the Baptist, Lk.1:15. And, BTW, who baptized John the Baptist so as to prove water baptism saves?
that is the problem with the CoC, they think their working participation in a ceremony is the means of washing away their past sins....false gospel
@@TheApologeticDog Agreed.
I could be mistaken, but it seems that most of you have little knowledge about studying Gods word they way HE prescribed: 2 Timothy 2:15 kjv: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" Are any of you considering WHO wrote the letter you are reading, to WHOM it was written, WHAT was the letter about, ect? Acts chapter 2 rightly divided is all about the Jews in the commonwealth nation (singular) ISRAEL getting thier sins remitted. Why? Because without water baptism, the Jews would be breaking thier law. Why? Because the Jews rquire a sign or they wont believe. Raise your virtual hand please, it you understand that the Book of Acts is transitional. So my question to all the people here that believe they must follow Acts 2:38 to earn favor with God, what about Acts 2:44 and 45? You are obeying those verses too.. RIGHT? If you are not, you're in BIG trouble. Does Annanias and Saphirah ring any bells? If we are in Acts 2:38.. Where are all the dead bodies? There is only one way that would be possible. If Scripture is not inspired by God. Oh wait, It is...
These two guys are presenting a radically different kerygma than what Paul proclaimed. They completely negate the foundation of Paul’s gospel: substitutionary atonement by the death of Jesus on the cross.
1 Cor 15:1-4: 1st coming of Jesus was his death, burial, and resurrection (penal substitutionary atonement) 1 Cor 15:20-26: a believers blessed hope of the gospel is a future bodily resurrection, bodily 2nd coming of Jesus, at the end of history to physically to restore all things
Jesus paid the penalty for sin, which is death, so that those who believe in him no longer pay the penalty for sin- death. In contrast with Pauls theology, your theology has believers continuing to die because of sin, because your false theology claims biological death is caused by sin. You may give lip-service to substitutionary atonement but your heretical theology negates substitutional atonement.
@@TracyVanwyngaarden-l9s actually death is the termination of physical life. FP is heresy
Why did you change the subject? Is it because you don’t have a response to the issue that I raised with your false, unbiblical doctrine? If biological death is the consequence of sin (your position), then Jesus’ death on the cross was ineffectual, because of the simple fact that believers still die biologically!
@@TracyVanwyngaarden-l9s Do you think our position is that believers stay dead?? 🙃
Sam cracks me up😂😂. Everyone listen up closely, make sure you have it all squared away before your body dies and your spirit goes to heaven to be with the Lord while you wait for your body to be raised. You need to have your biological bodies properly mummified so those ears don't deteriorate back into dust, because if you don’t there wont be any “ears to hear” the voice of Christ while in your grave when he comes. Maybe there is going to be an announcement over some sort of intercom in heaven saying, “ok boys and girls, let’s get ready to go get those bodies back, sorry for the interruption, you will be able to get back to whatever it is you were doing up here shortly”.
At the 56:23 mark, quoting Paul in Romans 6, you are completely oblivious that what Paul says in that verse (the entire chapter for that matter) refutes just about everything you said up to that point.
@@TracyVanwyngaarden-l9s you mean about physical death? 🙃
What?
For everyone who says FP is CLEARLY heretical, just consider that Doug believes and in fact teaches that roughly15-20 (maybe more) passages of scripture, of THE COMING OF CHRIST, refer AD70. But for some inexplicable reason, when it comes to first Corinthians 15: “but each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at HIS COMING those who belong to Christ”, Doug presumptively assumes that nobody will question his hermeneutic as to why this isn’t the “coming” that he affirms occurred in 70 AD.
What does the Bible say about: WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT BAPTISM Baptism is probably the greatest debated and misunderstood command in the New Testament. The Church of Christ emphasizes the importance of proper mode (immersion) and the proper subject (believers only). The question is, why? Jesus gives us an example: Luke 3:21 (KJV) Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, Jesus gives us a command: Matthew 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Paul gives us a visual representation: Romans 6:3-5: "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Paul gives us a reason: Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Peter gives us an analogy: 1 Peter 3:20 (KJV) Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 1 Peter 3:21 (KJV) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Why do we find and see so much about baptism if it is not important? Why is this simple act of obedience such a stumbling block to so many? Let's look at the story In 2 Kings 5:1-14, Naaman, the Syrian army commander, suffers from leprosy. He is advised to go to Elisha, the prophet of Israel, who instructs him to dip seven times in the Jordan River. At first, Naaman is reluctant, but after obeying Elisha's instructions, he is healed of his leprosy.--- In this story the dirty water in the Jordan river did not physically cleanse the man of leprosy; it was his obedience. Likewise, the water involved in baptism doesn't physically wash away sins. it is our obedience to God.
You guys don't even know what baptism means or why God commands us to do this. Jesus didn't tell us to enter baptism working he tells us to go into baptism believing before we can enter Baptism. Mark 16:16. He tells us to believe so yeah if you go into baptism working you won't be saved by your works. These people are false teachers don't listen to them listen to Jesus
sure we do its not hard lol, baptism is a ceremonial rite of being immersed into water to signify the forgiveness of sins. You may want to go back to watch ole TT :D
The prophesied re-gathering of Israel didn't really kick into gear until May 14, 1948. This certainly appears to be prophecy fulfilled nearly two thousand years AFTER the first century. Jeremiah 30:1-8 says, "The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, 2 “Thus speaks the Lord God of Israel, saying: ‘Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you. 3 For behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,’ says the Lord. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.’ 4 Now these are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah. 5 “For thus says the Lord: ‘We have heard a voice of trembling, Of fear, and not of peace. 6 Ask now, and see, whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor, and all faces turned pale? 7 Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it. 8 ‘For it shall come to pass in that day,’ Says the Lord of hosts, ‘That I will break his yoke from your neck, and will burst your bonds. Foreigners shall NO MORE enslave them." The whole context of this passage is God will bring Israel back into their land, NEVER TO BE ENSLAVED AND TAKEN FROM THEIR LAND AGAIN. All the way up to Rome, the Jews suffered periods of enslavement. And AFTER Rome the Jews did NOT possess Israel UNTIL May 14, 1948. God says, "For behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,’ says the Lord. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.’ AND..."Foreigners shall NO MORE enslave them." Remember Nazi Germany enslaved them in concentration camps, all the way up to May 14, 1948. Is this NOT fulfilled prophecy that came two thousand years AFTER the first century?
The NT says the promise is to u n your children, our children are sanctified by the believing parents. We baptize sanctified ones from infant age on up and include them in all aspects of the covenant. The NT does have unbelievers in the church called tares who were baptized, took communion and participated in all the church function. The covenant of grace was at work in the OT in the salvation of the elect, who were also circumcized. In the jailors salvation in Acts he is now commanded to baptize his whole household, all that were in it. If he had been told baptize all the adults then credoes would be right, but that's not the case. Along with Jesus instructing us to permit the little ones to be part of the kingdom in Lke 18. If we include our babes into all aspects of the physical family how much more to include them in all aspects of the spiritual life of the church. The promise is to u n your children with no age distinction. It's crazy that Baptists would not want to raise them up in the fear n admonition of the Lord and teach n include them in all things. Children who feel included and treated like saints tend to stick around and stay in the church. Baptists tend to see there teens grow n leave, because they r not included. I have only been a Presby for several yrs and my church is young but Doug Wilson's church is 40 yrs old and they see most of there teens stay n thrive. Why is that. Many saying that they cannot remember a time they did not love Jesus. How sweet is that. I was credo for 52 yrs only taking what I was told until I was challenged to search the word, I did and hallelujah the word convinced me credo is wrong being very shortsighted and paedo is right being biblically sound once I broke thru all the yrs of tradition. Many r having the same results. I believe one day the whole church growing up into Christ will be paedo and a strong bold witness to the world as we along with our babes grow in grace.
