A mega day with No Limits at Cadwell Park on the CB500 only trackday
A bit of footage from a mega day at Cadwell park with No Limits in the CB500 (only) group. Such a good day, the weather was incredible! Great bunch of riders and a lot of fun being on a track day with only the CB riders in my group. It made for a fun day of riding!
Let me know your thoughts on the video. If you own a CB500, you really need to give these days a try.

    I'm in NL looking at buying a cb for a project. Might take it to the track, but it definitely won't be racing. What have you done to the front forks other than the pre-load adjusters? What do you have for the rear suspension? Sorry if this is somewhere in your socials, I couldn't find it easy

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing 10 дней назад

      @@thedijon Hi. The front forks have standard springs in them, with a 130mm air gap and 20 weight fork oil. That is what majority tend to use for the front forks. For racing in the UK we can't use the pre load caps. But I did find them good on a track day. The rear shocks are Hagon and all they have is a heavier weight spring on them, that's it. Again, we can't modify them. All I do is run them on the most compression setting. There's also YSS shocks which you can use a heavy weight spring, and use a heavier weight oil. Which I'm going to try at some point. They are a fun little bike to have 👍

      @@SuggyRacing Thanks so much! I suppose you don't really have much experience to know if it's worth it to do a full suspension upgrade then? Full upgrades get expensive quick of course

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing 10 дней назад

      @thedijon You can definitely make it better. You could go all out if you wanted, with a custom cartridge kit. But yeah, it will get very expensive . You can also get better rear shocks with compression and rebound on it, but again it's just cost. Depends how much you have to spend. The fast lads who ride these bikes, have some serious lap times all with standard equipment. So a lot of it, is the rider if I'm honest. 😁

    • @thedijon
      @thedijon 10 дней назад

      @@SuggyRacing I think you're right, and I think I should stick with a few small upgrades first and see how that feels. Front brakes are definitely #1. I'm gonna try to find that armstrong brake disc you had paired with the standard brake setup, do some lines, revise the cyljnders, and throw in some sintered pads I think

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing 10 дней назад

      @@thedijon Yeah if you changed the to what I have, that will make a huge difference along with a smaller air gap. On track it works well, but on the road it's no good. Yeah brakes are good place to start, Armstrong disc is brilliant. The standard disc is terrible, it gets too hot on a track. Sintered or race sinter pads are good along with stainless lines. Get some good tyres too. We use Dunlop sportsmart TT. That's pretty much it really. We use flat bars instead of the standard ones, but that's just preference.

      @@andywilliams4063 It would definitely be good on a road bike, it all helps it with performance. Ben can probably answer better than me, but if you only do porting it will help, but not as much as having the other work done too. It's a balance getting it all running well. A good set up on the Dyno would help a lot too. 👍

Not to mention the 3 angle cut etc,etc.you in good hands there bud.the overall build with no stone unturned when it comes to every nut and bolt and cycle part paid detailed attention to its a beauty. @@JeanMelim Hey. Thanks for the follow, appreciate it. We are hoping for around the 60hp mark. Which isn't enormous, but for a small engine it would be quite the percentage increase on what is standard. My bike made 48hp, the maximum these bikes make as standard is around 50hp. So it's slightly under at the moment. There's loads you can do to these, we decided to do it a budget friendly as we could. The next stage is doing larger pistons and much more work. Hopefully this will be a noticeable difference in performance alongside other CB500 bikes 😁👍
