CREATING EPIC DOG PHOTOS in Northern Ireland - Part 2
PART 2: In this video the saga around Northern Ireland continues to the south of the country. Come up to the Morne Mountains with us where we ran into quite a conundrum trying to find a suitable place for a mega multi-week-old Tamaskan-Wolfhound puppy shoot to take place.

PART 1: This trip was a pivotal moment in the Scarf Project, resulting in one of my favourite photographs from it - heck, of all time! That green scarf portrait of Cody REALLY did it for me. This adventure crosses the Irish Sea to Giants Causeway, where we met Cody - a movie-trained Northern Inuit for his Scarf Project session. Loving all your videos 🐕 I started doing photos of my dog years ago then gave up on it all. My dog died last year but I have now came back into dog photography because I miss having a dog in my life and it's what Sashka (my dog) would have wanted. Your videos have really helped me with getting back into learning it all again. Thank you

Aaah! This brought back so many happy memories of this amazing two day photoshoot! Cody loved ever second of it, and Cat's vision is just mind blowing 🤯 the result is perhaps the most epic pet portrait ever, and I still pinch myself that that is my boy every time I look at it 😍 ❤️

Ahh yay that's so nice to read - thank you. I manually set my light, generally, I find TTL doesn't give me the power I need - that or too much XD

I'm also curious of which light sticks you use, I know you mentioned it in the video, which sounded like 'Pelex Light Sticks' but I can't seem to find them. Ahhh thank you so much for this lovely comment. I win in the enthusiasm department though right? ;-) The lights I'm referring to are Westcott Ice Lights, although you can get similar products by lots of different brands. -Cat

That was marvellous. What flash do you use and do you carry a spare battery pack with it?
For this photo shoot, we used a Profoto B2 and two Ice lights, no spare battery was used, although I do have one. To be honest I rarely need to use a spare for one shoot, it's only when we have a few in a row having the backup is handy.
@@CatsDogPhotography Awh thanks guys, much appreciated as I'm at a loss where to start with portable flash. We live just up the road from Durdle Door so it is fantastic to see you guys doing your thing so local to us. There are so many great locations around the Dorset coast line. Portland Bill is very dramatic.....especially during bad weather/high winds etc, but more challenging for those doggo shoots. Love your work....so inspiring, thank you. :)

what was the first lens? and settings?
The first lens was the Canon 70-200mm 2.8 USM II. Settings = 500/s F/2.8 ISO 640
