It seems obvious in hindsight, but yes most artists are trying too hard to monetize the small group of 10 fans they have instead of forcing discoverability. But even once you've hit that number where your portfolio of content (and the algorithm) is finally working, it's only the beginning. That's when you need to bring these viewers into the community itself which is an entirely different set of skills. Then finally once you have your community you can at last art monetizing your work, but not before following the first two steps.

The community on Bluesky is more chill. This is such a relief because everything else is on fire at the moment.

Given that the people that were constantly attacking artists are moving to it... No thanks.

Cause art school is a waste of money

That first PewDiePie video made me buy a sketchbook and practice, now I've improved, not a lot but yeah

Honestly Art school is pretty much Useless There are a lot of people who teach for free anyways (and a little support would help too)

to be a good artist, it takes passion and hard working to master it. You will have to be "trial and error" first. You can never expect to draw something real good for the first time. but then, as time passes, your results will be better and more as you progress until you satisfy what you want to achieve just like how pewdiepie does

PewDiePie made me start again to draw. I have drawn once in a while, but without consistency, i never learned really. Now I'm in a 30 day challenge drawing everyday, i hope i progress and start a 100 day challenge, this way i will get the habit hopefully.

why would I post on a platform where no one but bots would see it and it's 10 times easier for AI to scrape and steal my art...? At least on Twitter, you have to have an actual account to view the content which makes it harder to scrape all the data... Unfortunately, appears to be happening. Blue sky is that everyone is banning each other into oblivion, and C P has essentially taken over

Pewds needs to start coloring with a hard round brush instead of a soft brush hard edges just makes you more decisive soft brushes just end up making things blobs .

Honestly, while his 90-day progress was impressive (that green-haired girl piece being the standout), his final piece at the end of the 365 days seems more like a realistic result. Which is not to disparage Pewdiepie and his tenacity and drive to learn, but more so to frame his year-in-art into view. Like yes, he made an impressive piece early on, but overall, his end result isn't as impressive because art is a journey with highs and lows, where your progress starts to lessen, the longer and longer you do art.

Besides the hard work, he clearly has either the talent or genetics for art.. regular people won't improve so fast to draw from imagination even if they drew every day.. I've been drawing most days a week and barely improving

If bluesky becomes less of a liberal hivemind echo chamber it'd be even better

If you’re making a portfolio to get freelance jobs/ you want to present yourself as blooming professional artist you post on *Instagram* and if you really care about your art and are a ligit professional you post on *Linkdin* ! If you’re a beginner/underage artist you post on *DeviantART* with the other children! Twitter and BlueSky are BOTH unprofessional/waste of time .🙄. The only “fun” social media that actually beneficial for looking for a job at Disney, Dreamworks, Blizzard, ect. is Instagram everything else is fluff that doesn’t matter and is a waste of your time! (This is what I was taught in my portfolio class in art school and it still applies to this day as when you apply for art jobs in the industry you’ll be asked for either an Instagram or a LinkedIn they’re never going to ask for Twitter or for this new BlueSky thing. . . If you have outgrown DeviantART your better off just having a really solid Instagram!

Tbh, I also want to hop onto Bluesky, but having lots of social media/art pages is mentally tiring, at least for me. That and jumping from platform to platform and re-uploading my art over the years has really gotten tiresome. Good luck to those who are on Bluesky or will try Bluesky! I hope it will be better than Twitter!

Does Bluesky allow slightly or uncensored nsfw art? Lol. If not, I can't go upload something there without censoring most part of the image of my artworks.

just remember that if you are moving to bluesky just because of X/Twitter new A.I guideline I suggest watching legal mindset title "BlueSky: Different Platform, Same Issues" its better if you have account in multiple social media so don't put all your eggs in one basket

My experience with Bluesky: My experience with Bluesky is more the story of my art journey, but my struggle boils down to being someone who likes to draw but is incredibly inconsistent on account of my ADHD. I shifted Bluesky really early on, like as soon as I got Bluesky invite, because the algorithm was hiding all of the stuff I wanted to see and it was killing any engagement with the work I was posting. I saw where the platform was going then under Elon and determined that it just wasnt for me anymore. Bluesky for me has proven a lot more enjoyable for me in that I was actually seeing what I signed up for and people likewise were seeing my stuff. But the third benefit was that if Bluesky were to blowup, it would essentially give me a first mover advantage since my profile there would have already been builtup. And the smaller userbase provided more opportunity to network, especially since my art seeked to fill a niche (bird furry art).That has really paid off to the extent that my account is included in starter packs for my niche with a name that was being killed off on Twitter. A lot of people like their algorithms but I find it to be detrimental in a lot of areas. We've seen it with RUclips and we've seen it on Twitter which is something that becomes very toxic to chase long term.

This is a lesson in modern marketing distilled into simple, straightforward concepts and terms, packaged in an excellent presentation. I think I'll be rewatching this later.

Is it only me who thinks Bluesky is worse than Twitter? my posts never get interaction unless someone reposts it, and even i joined art share, add tags, nothing works?? I have nearly the same followers amount on both platforms (20 ish) and on Twitter one or two people see and like my posts, while on Bluesky no one sees at all? I don't know, everyone has positive reviews except me. Is it because my account is shadow-banned? Or im just unlucky . 🙏
