This is what it sounds like when your positive displacement supercharger (in this case a Magnuson TVS2300) develops a loose upper pulley. I always replace the soft allen head bolts that come with these blowers with ARP 12-point hardware, and use blue loctite when I tighten everything back up.

Pretty basic setup on regular street tires and 4WD launch. Whipple 2.9L (Gen 4) Stage 2 kit. Kooks headers. Custom fuel system with ID1050 injectors, OZ Tuning. 3.5" pulley and E85 fuel. It would probably be a lot faster on drag radials on all 4 corners, but it's fun how it is.

I remember this truck from the forum days. I think I actually responded to one of your threads about tire sizes - I used to runs 265s on the front of my truck before I lowered it.
Do you think this cam would do good in a Magnuson supercharged ls3 ?
Are those stock npps?
Who’s is tuned by? Has it been reliable overall on the 3.5?
Damn she’s bad
sweet truck , i got the same truck with 3.5 and a stick.
What transmission controller are you using? Any other considerations needed when retrofitting this to any other car ? mainly on the operational side of the trans not so much install or clearance etc as i can sort that.
Absolutely fantastic.. nice job
Jesus fucking Christ…….I can’t even remember when e85 was $1.99/gal. 😂😂 this truck, video and pump prices really make me regret our precious few choices in presidents lol
This cam sounds amazing... not radical and a good lope... i love it great choice... probably drives good too
OP, can I ask how much you have in the swap and all the upgrades. What a cool ride!
At least $15k in parts. Then all my free labor
@@chrisedwards2624 it's a awesome ride. Looks like a blast to drive.
I come here often lmao Bro we need a first gear pull of this beast
It doesn’t hook in first lol
@@chrisedwards2624 i keep debating between the SS2 and the 8715 How crazy is the torque with this cam over stock?

Badass truck man
Fast as hell! Awesome run
How did you get your a/c, abs and other factory vehicle things to work alongside the supercharger. We’re they as simple as bolting them on the v8 or minor adjustments or completely different parts?
Ventura aye
No Jalisco way
Is this a RCSB? What else is done? Pretty fast for the regular pulley on pump 91.
stout build, still have it? you ever run into any issues?
No major problems while I owned it. I did revise lots of things to try and improve things like the suspension but it never left me stranded and I put a ton of street miles on it. I sold it to a guy and he had it shipped out to Virginia where he cranked up the boost, and Street raced it for a long time until finally the bottom end let go. Apparently he ran a 10.2 @135 still on the original long block and craigslist 4L80
@@chrisedwards2624 Thats deadly man, thank you for replying. I was always curious how these turbo LS's hold up over time.
@@ritchardposterior262 Assuming it’s assembled correctly, it’s all in the tune. E85 not only makes more power, it’s safer. I kept this one at 15psi on the street and I’m sure it would have ran forever.
@@chrisedwards2624 fingers crossed i do it right, first time i will have built a engine. FlowEFI (Chinafab intake), local turbo builders T4 S476 (82/87 1.10AR), CXRacing 31x12x4 inch Intercooler, 60mm BSI Wastegate, 50mm BSI BOV. 10AN fittings off both valve covers to a catch can. I have a TunerNerds Knock Monitor Pro which will be perma mounted with the OEM Knock Monitors in the Valley Cover. I am hoping for about 600rwhp on 91 Octane since we don't have E85 available in Canada. Everything i listed is massive overkill for my goals, i am well aware, but i am going to put a ballvalve on the Return line so i can easily drain my 34 gallon fuel cell for swapping fuel types. Eventually i'd like to run a duel fuel rail/injector intake, but the terminator only supports 8 injectors and i don't want to spend 3400$ on a Dominator. This build has already snowballed WAY beyond what it should have. My truck, currently with a SBE 5.3 and a Cam. ruclips.net/user/shortsEcTgXi0XQL0?feature=share
What kind of headers your use?
Custom longtube headers check out my Insta @cefbuilds there’s lots of pics there
Can you do a build overview? I’m wanting to build an LS Colorado and I could use some knowledge if you have any to spare.
I’ll try and upload something. Thing is a few of the parts on this truck are 1-off custom stuff like the headers which everyone asks about. But if you have specific questions just ask away and I’ll tell you what parts I used.
Any problems getting the 10 speed to fit?
Not using the Hooker motor mounts and Holley LT swap oil pan. It was tight though. Other mounts or pans may have issues.
U still can't make that truck even look good. Maybe run good.
Looks are subjective lol. But ya I’d say it runs pretty good 👍🏻
@@chrisedwards2624 u have to admit them are some ugly ass trucks.
@@hotrod76. I disagree man. I bought this thing new and back in 2006 it was a sharp looking truck that got a lot of compliments. People in this hobby like all sorts of different stuff. A guy who likes Porsches would think a 72 Chevy pickup is a pile of old junk and he’d pretty much be right but cars mean different things to different people, some are all about the looks, others all about the performance, some just wanna go off road etc. Personal preference is an awesome thing otherwise we’d all be driving the same car.
I thought they looked cool back them and just as cool now. This thing looks clean af and I love the fact that it been modded to this level but you kept the clean factory look. Cal-tracs and that mint sound is the only hints that this thing likes to party. Well done bro 👌
Sounds great. Funny folks complaining about the road track number and punisher lol. The skull is "Jake"...research corvette racing and how "Jake" came to be almost as iconic as the corvette itself. No one whining over the chrome wheel wheel accents tho !
beautiful friend
How low is this truck
Stock height ZQ8
Bad ass
What other mods than the cam? Pushrods? Springs? Oil pump? Chain? I am looking to do the same cam turbo stage 1 on my 4.8 turbo but wondering what else I would need. Beautiful truck by the way 😍
I edited the video with the complete mods list
I have a Colorado with a built LM7 that I'm going turbo with next. How did you get the factory rear end to hold up? I was thinking about swapping to an 8.8 but this looks like it's holding up fine.
I did an Eaton TruTrac in the stock AAM 8” rear end. Stock axles and gears. It’s been 1.6x 60ft a few times but it’s not a drag racer. Never had a problem in 12yrs.
@@chrisedwards2624 thanks for the info. What wheel and tire did you run for drag radials? It's hard to find wheels that fit the center bore. I got Sierra wheels that I'm getting bored out for my daily set in 18x8.5

@@chrisedwards2624 that's awesome. ZQ8 wheels are almost impossible to find at a decent price now. I was looking at those and the OEM 18x8 Colorado wheels but ended up settling. Not paying $1300 for nice ZQ8 wheels or $800 for beat up ones.....
Thank you for listing all the mods, awesome truck.
It's the overlap that chops, you're on the wrong side for the chop it seems
Jesus all mighty that truck is mainey AF 🤙
Wow! Another badass video! No useless babble! Love it!
Bitch eats!
Awesome 👏 love this! 🇺🇸
It's not a ghost cam because the car really is cammed 🤣
You’re right, the cam does have a somewhat noticeable chop to it. But compared to some of the huge BTR and TSP cams, it could be considered somewhat mild. And imagine going to all the trouble of putting a cam in and having it have no chop? That would just be sad
Hey thanks for the video, how are you finding the S4 size? how tall are you ?:) I'm 180cm(5"11') and I'm killing myself to decide between S3 or S4. Thanks for your help
I am 5'11 160lbs and I recommend the S4. I came from a medium frame (different brand) and the bike shop urged me to go to a Large (S4) and I'm glad I did.
@@chrisedwards2624 thanks a lot for the advice, I think I will go for the S4 as well :)
that thing sounds nasty as hell.
What type / brand of supercharger is that?
Magnuson TVS2300 supercharger kit for a 99-06 Silverado
I am surprised no one has commented on this. For a cam that has no overlap it sounds really good. I was kind of second guessing my choice because I bought the cam not for sound but still wanted some sound if that makes sense lol. Beautiful car Chris.
This cam won’t necessarily win peak dyno rwhp number awards but it makes a really strong and flat torque curve with respectable peak HP numbers and honestly I think it sounds badass. You can totally tell it has a cam and of course it drives 100% stock since no overlap. I also like how quiet the valve train is but most of that is the OEM lifters and correct pushrod I implemented. Overall I like this cam and its perfect for what I use it for which is drifting where I can pedal the throttle in the mid range and control the car easily. This cam would also do well with a blower.
@@chrisedwards2624 It's a mild build with approx 13 PSI and 408 cubic inches lol. I think it will make a lot of power and drive amazingly well. I can't wait. I should have it running in a week or two. I pray for my C5 trans and diff lol.
@@chrisedwards2624 what kind of numbers did you make with this cam?
@@amplezemi4 All the numbers and supporting mods are listed in the video description. 456/439 on CA 91 and 482/462 on E85. I’ve seen guys make 470/440 on 93 on unported heads
@@chrisedwards2624 great numbers from such a mild mannered cam.
Awesome!!
Not sure if I just missed it in the description but did you do anything so beef up the front dif, I got a 2012 4wd with the 6l80 and I'm afraid launching in 4 would shred some stuff
The front diff in all GM trucks 1988-present is very strong and needs nothing to launch in 4wd. I had new axles from Oreilly just cause the originals were worn out, otherwise nothing!
@@chrisedwards2624 sweet, thanks for the info, I do have a 3in lift that required me dropping some spacers to lower the front diff a bit, so I'll probably hold off on 4wd launches until I do something else but good to know the transfer case won't shell. Am thinking of replacing the torque converter while the engine is out, (180,000 miles) think a 6l90 swap is worth or just get something aftermarket?
@@chrisokelley8337 The 6L80 is very strong even stock. The torque converter is the weak link. But if you’re n/a or stock I would not hesitate to have some fun. The lift won’t affect anything.
I think the truck lost the race.
Ya can't lose what ya never had! Neither one of us were racing, just testing.
This is one serious pick up truck. I think a set of racing slicks could really make the Colorado a good match for majority of the vehicles on the road in almost any city and/or state.
It’s pretty fast on slicks, yes. High 10s @ 130mph. But being a stick shift it’s not a great drag racer, in fact I sold the M&H slicks since it’s more fun to spin the tires
Absolutely bad ass. What rear end are u running? Is there enough room to get a 4l80 in there to hold the power?
@chrisedwards2624 I was gonna drop an LS3 in mine from a corvette, and was thinking of keeping the stick that came from the vette. I've never driven a stick before and I do wanna try it on the strip, should I go the automatic route for the tranny?
@@chrisedwards2624what fuel pump/ assembly
Do you still have this truck, if so, how’s it running?
I sold it to a guy in Virginia a few years ago. Last I heard he cranked up the boost, ran low 10s, then blew the motor.
Blew the 5.3, picked up an lq9 for a steal and it’s running as good as when I bought it. Daily driven 700hp street truck. Trans hasn’t had anything but fluid change, 4wd needed a new motor but that’s the only maintenance so far for a lot of hard miles!

Did you do a burnie in front of the police station? Lmao
what drop ?
QA1 front coilovers, Atomic Fab front coilover brackets, in the back it’s Belltech hangers, overload removed, CalTracs, VAS rear shock relocation, QA1 double adjustables. If I was doing it over again I would 4-link the rear for ride quality purposes
