Beatles Forthlin Road 1960 - Well Darling (short vs)
"Well Darling" is a slow blues song composed by Paul McCartney in 1960, in which Lennon and McCartney harmonise the title phrase several times before McCartney takes the vocal stage and does the solos. A rudimentary bass is prominent, played by Stuart Sutcliffe, and only two guitars are audible, presumably John’s Hofner Club 40 and Paul’s Zenith 17. George did not play or was likely not present for the recording. There are rumors that Stuart sang a duet with Paul on the second verse, although it sounds more like John’s voice at low quality. This song, along with other blues and primitive versions of compositions, was recorded between April and May 1960 on a home recorder at Paul’s house.

It's mainly because they didn't have a good rhythm section, if they had at this time and Paul on bass and George to take over guitar with John this recording would be a much different story. Buy you're still right, it is miraculous never the less, mainly Paul and Johns insane worth ethic.

I think most of these songs were recorded with the acoustics, with the exception of I Saw Her Standing There (both electric). George may have used the Duo Jet on a few more (Twist and Shout, Boys?) but I think the rick was only used on ISHST. See @Michaelsokil and @sampopkin who perfectly recreate the tracks. This is dope though. I would love to see some live covers from this era and I think you could do great covers of the star club tapes once AI further enhances the backing tracks!
