Jacksons Artist Watercolour Paint Review - Cheap Price and Artist Quality?
Thanks for those words... An inner positive mindset can be our greatest quality - a part of our character that can protect us from the shocks of Life... And yes, Art also helps. Thanks for posting this.
You’re welcome ☺️ and also thank you.
@@leahevergreenart Oh, and I neglected, unfortunately, to tell you - If I only had half your talent with colors and painting - Oh, it's so sad - But I like what you do on your RUclips channel!
Do you have an ebay? 👀
Where did you buy your watercolor set? I want to buy one just like that but I haven’t found one like yours.
I made that set buy collecting all my favourite colours and placing them in empty half pans and full pans. The metal palette I got off of Amazon I believe.
What a clever idea! I just purchased a Beechman sketchbook, paper is wonderful and thick but just too big so I tend not to use it. So simple and smart
Beautiful painting and topic!❤
Thank you ☺️ glad you enjoy it !
This sounds so good ☺☺
Thank you ☺️
Yaaay! Exciting update. I think a pdf with the color info is most useful. Looking forward to the launch.
Thank you for your feedback back on the PDF, so excited you’re excited! 😊
Awesome!! Count me in!
Oh thank you! So glad you’re Excited!
I also do not like the feel of soft pastels…and clay…though there is some sort of hand cream that is supposedly to help block that…liquid gloves or something like that.
I’ve really been enjoying my neocolours, they do the trick. When i tried oils, i tired to wear gloves but it felt wrong, though i didnt know there was a hand cream alternative, that is very interesting
such a satisfying video ☺☺
Thank you, so glad you think so ☺️
Fantastic tutorial and really informative. I also love that your dogs with you while your filming it’s real. My little Shih Tzu would throw a tantrum if I didn’t let him in my room. Thank you for sharing this video.
So glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful. Awe that is adorable, fur babies are precious like that
Ooh...Sennelier Oil pastels...these are considered some of the best ops...I have a a portrait set that I haven't made much use of. (I just did a small size oil pastel piece w/Cray-pas SPECIALIST ...harder, but great blending, artist quality ops on heavy tone paper and was wowed & LOVE them now.) A couple of years ago I did use Sennelier's D'Artigny spray fixative made esp for op's on another piece I did with a different brand of ops and it worked fabulously. It's aerosol w/strong fumes and you do have to spray outside, but follow directions on the can and it will seal your work beautifully. There are other fixative brands, but Sennelier's version seems to have the best success. Cons: pricey and it (or any fixative) may change the colors slightly. 😊
Watching this again a year later...I didn't comment on the migraine triggering ...ouch 😖! I deal w/that some too. I've been lucky 🍀 with various color media I've bought in terms of odors. But if I use something one time and it triggers a headache or a nasty migraine, I won't likely try it again...but I understand why you wanted to try w/these lovely acrylics. Too bad. Wondering if you ever tried an electric desktop air filter? I bought one to use when I'm using pastels and they really do capture a lot of the fine particles of dust, (I don't like wearing a mask) and I think they may help with odors too? Not sure. The HEPA filtration (replacement filters are available) that most of the brands use these days is very good. Amazon has a lot to choose from and they're not that expensive. Mine is a Clorox brand and was around $40. Take care.
That is a good suggestion, i should get a purifier for the studio. Thank you for that.
The thicker you put Inktense on the surface will move. I also found it more common with the blocks than the pencils. Personally I prefer the pencils.
Thank you for the tip, I’ll make sure to play more with this for sure! ☺️
I'm so curious to know if the nova colors are light fast! I'm so sad that they don't say it on the bottle :'(
Im not sure about the older bottles but the ones I have, have lightfastness rates on them. What colour are you curious about? If I have it i can let you know.
@@leahevergreenart omg thank you so much! They are actually colours that you swatched! Black, white, azel yellow medium, ultramarine blue and quinacridone magenta ❤
@@OmbresulLegno I looked at them and they are all labeled as Lightfastness of 1 and one is their highest rating

Such a gorgeous tutorial ☺☺
Thank you ☺️ so glad you think so. Have fun creating!
Loving my novacolor paints. I must order more!! I’ve been trying to find the pigment info for NovaColor and I can’t find the info anywhere. I’ve reached out to the company and haven’t heard back.
That’s how i feel! They are lovely
My favorite colors so far are the Fluorescent magenta and Fluorescent Pink! Mixing these two together makes the prettiest pink! You can add white and it’s beautiful. I also love mixing the F. Magenta, a touch of Phthalo Turquoise and white and it makes a beautiful violet! Reminds me of my fav, cobalt violet light in watercolors.
Oh and that Indian Yellow is amazing.
The Indian Yellow is beautiful, I keep turning to it and the Flourescent Magenta. Those sound like amazing colour combos!
The empty paint markers are Montana brand. I love them.
Thank you, yes they are and they are really good. I’ve been enjoying using them too ☺️
Unfortunate that shipping costs on Nova Paints are expensive. 5 paints was going to be 14.95 to ship plus taxes etc. too expensive for me
I hear you, shipping costs can be expensive depending on where you are.
Pastel mess? I like to feel my colors, but I've started wearing some snug fitting disposable gloves for the soft pastels...esp with some colors containing cadmium or cobalt it's best to avoid skin contact. I also use a tabletop air filter that really helps with airborne dust. A face mask is another option, but they feel a bit annoying sometimes.
Oh and air filter thats a great idea ☺️
I like to use acrylic markers rather than paint bc there no leftover paint to wash down the sink or even much clean-up. I think your empty marker brand is Montana ...I have a few of their empty and paint filled ones. They're excellent.
Paint markers do have many bonuses, thats why I love using them outside in summer, no need to worry about dirty water and where it can be disposed.
Thanks for sharing! I think most artists have a weakness for buying art supplies...especially color media. It doesn't help that watercolors, for instance, look like little candies or Himi gouache? Looks like fruit & dessert flavored pudding. My last big buy was for one item...last fall when I spent $105 for the Sennelier Paris Collection of 120 soft half stick pastels for a pastel course I was taking. This was a "couldn't resist price"...some sort of a promo. Now that same set is $160! If you're into soft pastels, I can tell you these are some most gorgeous and vivid colors I've ever seen in any color medium. But there are even more expensive brands from smaller makers that I didn't think I could afford to indulge in...and I still need to complete the online course 😮And then it's best to buy the sanded paper that the pastels adhere to much better...and it's also very pricey. Yes, creating art can be an expensive habit!
That is a great find for your soft pastels from Sennelier, their colours are so beautiful
what a gorgeous haul, thank you for sharing ☺☺
Thank you ☺️
I'm not much into acrylic but seeing all this paint and the swatches is just ao tempting! I was doing so well on my no buy this year until my family gifted me some "paint money" and I've been out of control since 😅💔
Oh I get how you feel… Im feeling the need to buy buy buy more! Enjoy your new supplies!
I love Nova Color paints - they’re like the perfect texture and vibrancy.
I just got them and each time I’ve painting I turn to them first. They are lovely! And i love how they are not plastic like when dry, oh and the colours 💙
What a fun haul! I have a couple of tips for you .... the inktense blocks have the color number embossed on one of the sides. I adore the Malabu markers. One thing I've found with using them is they are at their best on a gessoed surface. They smudge better and move better generally. Not sure why ... Love the permanence, only wish the line were as extensive as the Neocolors.
Thank you! I just looked and you are right, those numbers relate to colour. I too have found the Marabu work best on gesso, and yes ive only had them a little while and love them and now want all the colours, just wish there was more too choose from.
liked it. thanks. no music is good
Thank you ☺️
Wonderful!! Love this!! ❤️🌷
Thank you ☺️ So glad you enjoyed it
This is fantastic, stayed till the end ☺☺
Oh, thank you ☺️ so glad you enjoyed
This is perfect without music ❤
Thank you ☺️
Fantastic video, watched and enjoyed till the end ☺☺
Thank you ☺️ so glad you enjoyed it
I have watched many tutorials, and they are hard to follow but I so appreciate yours, you explain what you're doing and you do it slowly, I truly appreciate how slowly you are going, it allows me to see what you are doing. I can't wait to do this one on my own. Thank you.
I am so glad to hear you enjoyed this one and plan on painting it yourself. I too find some artists paint really fast and it is hard to follow at times. As a slow painter I was a little nervous that the video would be too long but hearing you say that you enjoyed it… just, thank you so much. Enjoy your creative time!
amazing tutorial, watched and enjoyed till the end ☺☺
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it ☺️
I was told that, in order for the art business I started to be successful, I have to find my art style and stick with it. People should be able to recognize my art just by looking at it. I was so busy focusing on what my style is that I lost some of the love for discovering what and how I like to paint. I'm not in it to crank out pieces like a machine. I'm in it to make what resonates with me and support my art supply habit. 😂
Thank you for sharing. Oh that art supply habit, I hear you there! 😂
THIS. You just explained how last year I learned to love drawing more by drawing ‘whenever I felt like it’ and how much more happier I felt no matter the quality. Social media did have me running in a loop of needing to draw a specific way almost daily, and despite the improvement, mentally I wasn’t interested in the process and don’t care for it after posting it. I feel like the advice I’ve given myself to draw whenever opens this freedom to experiment more without the pretext of it being ‘work/ a challenge’. Tho, funnily enough, I had the idea to draw everyday this month as a way to try the new art supplies I’ve bought, but it went as well as you said, lol 😅 I even had that feeling of being overwhelmed by negativity from not catching up on those prompts. My guess is that no matter how simple ‘drawing everyday’ sounds, sometimes it’s better to let your mind rest for when you really have the craving for it. I think this video’s a sign or like a reminder for me to go back to the ‘draw whenever’ mindset I had last yr. so thanks for that 🤗🥰✨ ((Btw, noticed the color wheel in background is the same as the one I have which is neat.))
Thank you for sharing 😃 So glad this video found you. I hope you find that balance and joy again, you got this! (( BTW… So cool, I love this colour wheel))
I spray my oil pastels paintings with Krylon Workable Fixatif and it seals them.
This is wild, thank you for sharing ☺☺
Thank you for watching, I hope this helps ☺️
It feels like you just explained my soul. Thank you. This has made me think for sure.
You’re welcome, so glad this video found you and it resonated.
Definitely box nr 1 🌼🤗💛⚘🕊
We need more videos like this one. Thank you
the turner palette is lovely!
Gloss medium is not a varnish. GamVar from Gamblin is more archival and removable.
I was a gymnast for years. I think of my sketchbook as my gym. It’s where the mistakes and the learning happens. Do you think Simone Biles just goes out and throws amazing routines? No, it’s the culmination of hours in the gym. Spend the time learning like no one is watching. That’s what sketchbooks are for.
I love that, draw like no one is watching
Beautiful cards! Was bummed to find out campaign ended, I wanted to pledge <3

The obvious answer for "what to do" with these unwanted supplies is to donate them. Do you have any local art clubs? High schools? That will help free yourself of the burden of relentless consumerism.
Oh damn I decided to check your stuff and this is lovely An unrelated concept but these could totally work for writing too Mystic currents below the ocean act as labyrinth's to varying locations, same path different destination, the hand of faith guiding the unsuspected who fell under
