This documentary is so old. When they were building the Stan Musial bridge over the Mississippi River. The evangelistic homeless shelter has been closed for years now. I bet all these people are either dead/housed in jail or still homeless. Now they are in tents right in front of city hall. I love my city. I hope they are all ok wherever they are at.

You know, the government needs to remember that they might be helping these people now, but in the long run, they'll be putting more money into social security that is, in dire need. You ever notice how all those people that work at shelters drive really nice cars?But yet they say that the government is cutting the funding and they can't house as The first thing they're gonna do is they're gonna pay themselves.And every year, people who work at shelters give themselves a raise.And then any money that's left over is what they use to manage and maintain the shelter.But first thing once they get government-funded money from the federal government or the state.They're going to pay themselves first.They're not doing this for free many people as they used to in shelters If they got rid of the homeless think how many jobs would be lost they get.How many good paying jobs would be lost In the town that I live in now, the woman who is the director of Saint Vincent de Paul that runs the homeless shelter. She makes $200000 a year. There was a 6 month waiting list for the homeless shelter.

Finding your video gave me closure from that fateful year at Waka! It was my second year attending, both times camped at riverside, LOL. As you can imagine, it was BEYOND a shit show! We were all the way parked under trees by the river where everyone would chill and man, I just can’t ever forget my boyfriend waking me up in the middle of the night to evacuate. But like you said, once we got through that storm, the weekend was absolutely perfect! I miss our Wakarusa days and I loved hearing your story. Thank you for sharing, friend!

God Please help O.G. and everyone else. The unhoused are human beings,made in the image of God. I have been homeless one time in the 70's with a 6 yr old 3 yr old and 3 month old. Thank God I had a car there was more help and in less than 2 months and help from friends we had our own place. It isn't like this today. It is so much worse and a lot harder for these precious souls. ❤❤❤

They are all like everyone else. They need love and compassion and that gives them the will to survive. Take away the love and compassion, and they become bitter and they stop trying. You can have the most expensive home in the world, and if you don't feel loved, you will die or destroy yourself. I don't look down on people that are homeless because any of us could become homeless and i know what addition is like as well but i do have a problem with homeless people that don't try to better themselves, that don't wanna try to work and especially the ones who litter trash every dang where because they're completely lazy and ungrateful and could care less like that girl that through that glass liquor bottle like it was nothing,that pisses me off!!! I'm retired & living (homeless) on my ss chek, can't get goobermint help for housing because they say i make too much $$,, but what i make can't even pay for a cheap apartment,, unless i want to live in a rat roach and drug infested trailer park,, and then i wouldn't have nuff left to buy food....... Been homeless for 2 year's now & living in a swamp,, hunt trap & fish & doing good.. Adapted to this life good, will probably die eventually out here but i will die happy & free..🌴🐊⛺..
