Very nice beautiful ly captured
Hey great great video! I have now watched it a few times. Did you have a guide with you?
Thank you so much. Yes we did have a guide for one day when we went to some of the parks on the other side of the island. Most birding I did myself though using Grab to get to the different locations, usually first thing in the morning.
A fantastic place and fantastic bird and animal images. Thanks so much,
Thank you Gil. It was brilliant place
What wonderful creatures. You captured their images with a great deal of sensitivity, as always. And I love how you made even the pair foraging a discarded pizza crust somehow look just that little bit elegant and sophisitcated. Looking forward to the next video in this series!
Thank you for the lovely feedback, I really loved the pizza birds, they were so unaware I was there, too busy eating. Hoping the next video is done soon, but will be a bit of work so probably after the new year break.
Such an amazing video Roger, our Botanical Garden is a great place to visit, cant wait to watch the new episode Jardín
Thank you so much. It is a really is a beautiful gardens. The next one will take a while to produce but will be so worth it
Another great video Roger! Looking forward to the next one at Jardin. What sort of transport did you use to Guatape and Jardin?
Thank you so much, we used private transfers between location. You could also go via bus but we were after the quicker option
Looks like a great trip
Thank you for taking the time to comment. It was an amazing adventure
love the vids roger
Thank you so much, this was a fun one to film and put together
Blue Gum Track was one of my most productive birding site during my visit last year, along with Penrith Weir. Both site accessible with public transport & has easygoing safe trails 😆Thanks for the great video!
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I’m glad the videos were inspiration for your trip. They are both excellent locations to get close to some of our birds.
The birds are so beautiful, the video is so good. Vietnam also has many species of birds. Please visit!
I would love to get to Vietnam sometime! For birds and food 🍲
Bolsa Chica is where I officially started birding! ❤
It is such an accessible place to view birds. And they mostly seem not too worried about people so makes it a great place for beginners.
really like youru channel i have been in this park for more than 5 times, but you have seen more species than me haha. will you doing a bird walk anytimes soon?
Thank you for your kind comments. I don’t really do bird walks. If you don’t already have binoculars I highly recommend using them. You will spot a lot more birds with them. Especially on the islands there.
Another lovely video Roger, so nice seeing the different species, similar to our Aussie counterparts, but not the same. Amazing world!
Thank you Sonia. It is pretty much the same the world over, similar species just a little different. Our Aussie versions are the best though 😀
@@RogersBirdingHotspots undoubtedly! 😁
I love that clip of the seagull flying and the first one with the pelicans on the island. The still of the Great Blue Heron is awesome! Interesting spot👍
Thank you. There were some interesting birds at this location. My favourites were the dowitcher and the reddish egret.
Yes, they are Howler Monkeys.
This is amazing! May I know which time of the year would be best to see more of these birds at the Treatment Plant?
Thank you. I was there in December. Different seasons will have different birds. If you want a chance to see the Orange-bellied Parrot winter would be the best time to visit
@RogersBirdingHotspots Thanks for the advice!
Hi, the Mallards don't look right, they may well be a cross bread. Love the videos.
Thank you. Yes you are right. Someone in the comments identified them as Mallard X Pacific Black Duck.
Did the cockatoo say “I don’t know” 😹
Haha quite possibly
Very informative
Thank you
ooh, this is close to one of my surf spots! definitely gonna check it out 🙏
Surfin and Birdin, sounds like a great day out
Delightful! Followed you here from Instagram. Thank you for the gently paced video and the bird identification provided AFTER I had time to guess. I did better than I expected! I grew up in south Louisiana and live now in the Piedmont of Georgia, so west coast birds are a mystery (except the ducks & herons, of course. I have learned so much from the wonderful IG photographers. Thank you.❤❤❤
Thank you and welcome to my channel. The ‘bird guessing game’ is the very reason on put the name up as late as I can. Really does help test you bird id skills. One day I’ll get to Georgia, you must have some amazing birds over there. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
The hawk/crawdad "interaction" helps me appreciate the power of your cockatoo's beaks. Seed inside, cocky would have had that open in one go. Thank you for showcasing our wildlife in such a respectful and engaging way. You saw a lot in that "little patch". Many of these guys don't seem to be around North Carolina, but we have plenty of others. One day, I hope. Cheers from Alamance County, NC/US.
That hawk was quite an amazing watch. Our cockatoos are incredibly strong with their beaks, I got bitten by one once, gee it hurt! North Carolina would also have some amazing birds, I had a quick look at what is around your area, you have some amazing owls. 🦉 thank you for your comment.
"...about a 40 minute drive from downtown LA" at 10PM on a weeknight...otherwise it's 1.5 hours easy! 😂😂😂. But seriously: Malibu Lagoon is also the world famous surf spot. If you like sports photography you can kill two birds with one stone (pun intended)
Haha, it actually took me 45, though I got there at 6am, so not much traffic. I saw the surfers there, I was more focused on the birds though
Fantastic look at some American birds Roger! Love the lobster dinner at the end, he was being very careful not to get nipped...beautiful shots too.
Thank you Sonia. I’ll openly admit our birds are much more exciting, though they do have some gems over there with the hummingbirds and herons.
@@RogersBirdingHotspots we are so lucky in Australia we are spoilt for birds!
This video is beautiful. Happy I got to meet you and hope you will return again to see the elusive owls. Shari
Thank you Shari. It was so nice to meet you too, thank you for the tips on where to find the vermilion flycatcher, that was one of my favourites. I tried a few days later for the owls again, no luck 😞
Nice video as always. Just want to point out your Goldfinch looks to me like a Lesser Goldfinch.
Thank you. I was tossing up between the two, but I think you are right. I will update the description to reflect that. Always hard to get 100% of the birds right (especially for a foreigner)
Magical Place with fantastically stunning birds and wonderful Antilopine Wallaroos. Thank you for great enjoyment.
Thank you. I was mesmerised by the wallaroos as well! It really is a magic place
Off-topic question: Do you have a calendar featuring your pictures? Not to pressure if you don't, it's just getting about that time. Thank you!😄
No I haven’t really made any Calendars yet. Maybe next year I will look into that. Need to find a good place that does them first.
And that's probably the hard part. It was worth an ask though. You'd know good pictures, let's just say 😉😄. Good luck this week. I hope your weekend was a pleasant recharge.
...And thank you again ❤
Lovely film that brought back memories of my only birding trip to Malibu in the Spring of 1977.
Oh wow, I wonder if the birds you saw back then were the same as what I saw when I went. Glad I could bring back some memories.
@@RogersBirdingHotspots The highlights were a single male Allen's Hummingbird and my first ever Caspian Terns.
It really enjoyed your film of the LA birds. We often travel to Seattle. We have seen a number of the ones you found, but quite a few were new to me. I love the international birding tours and look forward to the next one
Thank you, I should have another video out in a couple of weeks, from a different location in Los Angeles
One day I’ll get to Seattle
Amazing variety of bird species...
It was quite amazing the variety that can be found in this small country
Thanks for this great video, very patiently put together. Sg nature conservations & biodiversity has come a long way since independence. Thanks to the good work of our National Parks Board in greening this tiny island city state and balancing development with nature.
They really have done an amazing job with the parks over there. Loved visiting them all
Great video as always! Interesting to see birds from other parts of the world (and some that were familiar here). The Snowy Plovers were adorable!! Looking forward to more of your trip from the US 😀
Thank you Karen. I really did love the plovers over there, just so cute! Was also cool seeing pelicans different from our own.
This was starting so well...but then..that pathetic crap music. Made my ears bleed. Who gives a fuck about the birds with that cacophony of garbage.
Oh. You didnt get to see the straw-headed bulbul... Dairy farm should have plenty... Great video! Enjoy watching it
Yes I did see them and photographed them. Didn’t want to put them in the video though as they are critically endangered and heavily poached, didn’t really want to share the locations of them
@@RogersBirdingHotspots I see. Thanks for being so considerate towards wildlife! Am glad you have a great birding experience in Singapore.
So happy your beautiful films are going international!
Thank you. Was over there for other business and wasn’t going to waste some good opportunity to do some birding!
I hope your other business sends you to North Carolina for a month or two. Lots to see in a few hour's drive. ...and no carnivorous dropping koalas or cute-looking frogs that spit venom.
Great video, Roger! Very interesting to see the different species that live in California, looking forward to the other U.S videos 👍
Thank you. It is always fun to go somewhere new and all the birds are new. I have 2 more videos from Los Angeles in the works
No shortage of interesting birds in Malibu, that's for sure. An enjoyable little documentary👍
Thank you ☺️
Superb video with birding and picturesque views. Regards from India 🇮🇳
Thank you. One day I’ll get to India and make a video there
@@RogersBirdingHotspots Welcome to India 🇮🇳 India is blessed with rich bird diversity 🦚🦩🦜🦉🦅
Have just found your RUclips channel and love your process of showing the bird some discussion then naming and having the name come in as text. Gives a chance to try and name before you do and the fact there is no discussion on how the shot was taken i find very relaxing. There are lots of channels that discuss how shots should be taken. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the lovely feedback. I try and make the videos as I would like to watch as a viewer. I think it is important to label each bird so you can learn. I also agree there is no shortage of channels on how to take great photos, I watch a lot of them. There are not so many where these skills are put into action (mainly as gear/talking head videos get a lot more views). I just want to share the world’s birdlife, not so interested in talking gear.
Hey Robert I’ve started watching your videos at night with my mum to prepare for bed, this channel is so iconic, your camera quality and work is amazing, love the occasional narration and titles of all the birds. We love learning about all the different types in Australia. This is now one of my favourite RUclips channels. Keep up the amazing work, you are my #1 birder! 🐦
Thank you so much, these kinds of comments make all the work worth the effort. We are very luck with the birds we have here, you will see I am also sharing videos from other parts of the world too. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Enjoying your video. How do you access the forest track near palmdale please.
You can walk/drive along Palmdale road. When it reaches the bushland there are a few spots where you can follow 4wd tracks and you should hear/see plenty of birdlife.
beautiful photography. Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to comment
