Excellent! Stunning footage . Love your choice of music and how it's synced to the footage. Thanks for conveying the marvel and magnificence of these birds (and kangaroos too!)
Even though I am a Canberra based birder, I still thoroughly enjoyed your stunning video! The botanic gardens definitely have a lot more to see when you have the opportunity :) and Tidbinbilla is great too Thanks for sharing
Thanks man, been waiting for this to come out. Heading down there on a school trip, and I'm going to try spot a few birds. Thanks for helping me recognise a few birds!
It's so nice to hear the Australian magpie. Each sounds like a glockenspiel gargling cherry cordial. 😊 Seeing the two-barred finch(? Or was it a wren?) makes me wonder if it was given its markings to delight our sensibilities, or if we were given our sensibilities to delight in its markings. It's just too perfect for coincidence. Thank you for making this video!
Roger, a great video as are all of yours which I've just started watching. Living in Canberra, next time you are here I'd recommend the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. You could easily spend an entire day there with it's own wetlands, a ferny mountain creek trail, woodlands and open grassy areas. Cheers, Richard
Thanks Richard, yes that place was high on my list to visit but I just ran out of time (only had 24hrs), my next visit I will be going there for sure. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Not sure if it is still good, but down around Coombs and behind the defence college, on the Molongolo you will find a short stretch full of nursery trees. These trees are (or were when I last went there a couple of years back) full of nests for darters, cormorants and a few others depending on the season. You will have to go off the trails and clamber down to the river's edge to get some good views. The area also has a lot of other wildlife. Be quiet and patient you will find the ever present roos, wombats, echidnas, sometime rakali, and if they are still there, platypus.
Awesome video and beautiful shots!! Hunter wetlands is about 2 hours north of Sydney and it’s a really nice spot for birdwatching. If you’re ever passing by that area I recommend.

Yes I wish I had a few more days there. But I thought I saw a fair bit for 24hrs. Must return sometime

Awesome, there is some great birds to be seen, it is bloody cold this time of year though, may reduce the amount of species, have fun nevertheless

Thank you. Yes the Hunter wetlands is on my list of places to go and make a video of.
I love the funny😄 music for the Kangaroo
Haha thanks Veronica, was after something ‘bouncy’
Great footage Roger! I'll have to reconsider Canberra, I've not really thought to go birding there 🦜
Thank you Sonia. It is actually pretty good for birds, try summer when the snipes return.
Excellent Aussie bird observation footage. A big LIKE for the video. I'm a new friend here, a birder from Singapore. 👍🔔
Thank you so much! I did a video at Singapore not long ago check it out for some of your local birds!
@@RogersBirdingHotspots Sure, I'll check it later. I also make a birding video on local and Thailand birds. Please check my birding playlist.
I will do thank you ☺️
Great video , visited Canberra last year from the west. It really is gem of place for birdwatching without having to go out to back and beyond
Yes a big plus is that you don’t need to travel far. Thank you for taking the time to comment
Reminds of my 3 days in CBR in Jan this year! Thanks for sharing. Mulligan flats are good in the early morning.
I wish I had another morning when I was there to do Mulligans in the morning, only had one though so chose Jerrabomberra.
Thanks mate
Any time!
Nice video but music too loud
Thank you, I’ll take it on board but most feedback is the music is fine
