#28 | Building my off-grid bathroom (Part 1 - Foundation)
Welcome to the ''Pooping in the jungle'' series.
After everything I've built in the past year, the next thing that's VERY necesary is... a bathroom.
That way I can actually go to bed washed, and don't have to poop in a toilet anymore.
This video will cover the creation of the foundation, which isn't my favourite part, but is definitely very important.
Thanks for watching and joining the journey, and I'll see you in the next one!

#27 | Back At The Land After 6 Months (Nature Took Over....)
Просмотров 356Месяц назад
After 6 months of working my ass off in The Netherlands, I am finally BACK at my Slice of Paradise called ''Hollandito''. And as this video will show you... this was quite a shocker. I have never seen plants grow this fast, and my structures have been completely covered in vines and grass. To be honest, this was quite overwhelming to me... I thought ''How on earth am I going to clean this?'' Bu...

Welcome to the most wholesome building experience I've ever had. In the previous episode (#25), you saw how my good buddy Koen came over all the way from The Netherlands to help me build the second structure on my Dominican Property. We managed to set the main frame, and pour most of the concrete, and after taking some well deserved rest, we came back to finish the job! In this video, you will ...

Great job Eric! I am so grateful that the YT algorithm finally decided to throw your channel in the mix 👏🏾 So I've only just caught on today and binged your journey right here from chilly Hilversum 🌦 Your video's are amazing and I really love how they have great detail, clear narration, beautiful scenic views and as a bonus your humor and honesty about your why / vision! Please do keep it up, they give me the inspiration and courage to perhaps move closer to my 'homesteading' dream in Suriname 🇸🇷 I do still miss a bit more backstory... Why DR? How did you end up there? Who / What is the community you refer to? And finally please keep using the metric system so 90% of the world can understand your measurements - let those viewers who use the imperial system do their own conversions since they wanna use weird stuff like inches and feet 🤪

Check the difference between male, female and hermaphrodite papayas, looks like you have a few male ones you don’t need to many males. Also the big one you can cut it shorter and it should grow back so you can have the fruit more reachable.

Thanks for the comment, it's so interesting... I love the look of the male ones too, and as they give shade, I will happily welcome them... The large on is apparently a hermaphrodite, since it looks like a male, but also has given one fruit... I'm for sure going to keep them all tall, just for the shade they provide for other trees. Thanks for chipping in with your knowledge, it's much appreciated!

If the woodchips or sawdust are put In the soil, they will take up nitrogen for the first year or two. If they're just spread on top of the soil, they won't interfere, but instead will be converted from the soil surface upward into more soil ;) Which makes them a great choice for mulching pathways, where they can suppress unwanted growth, while gradually adding fertility that the plants alongside the paths can access.

    • @vikinginthejungle
