I think Hackintosh seems a great idea until there's a security update which means having to uninstall your Hackintosh (losing all of your files in the process) and doing it all over again.

Thanks for your business over the years, and your nice comments. I don't know how to explain the differences you are hearing based on what I know about the two cables, but we do have other options you may want to try some day if you are curious.

Qobuz is so much better than Tidal.

two are better in my opinion... scatter them in different corners, opposite to each other & hear the magic of Low frequencies submerging from distance into the centerpoint and fill the room.... i have 4 Subs in all 4 corners of the room

Roon Rock seems to run OK in Proxmox. Am still migrating to a dedicated NUC 13 Pro Core i7 box to take advantage of HQPlayer, etc.

I too am a Blue Jeans cable user (speaker, interconnects, digital coax). I use same coax cable as you between my CD transport and DAC. I started with the Amazon Basic Digital Coax. I use Roon too. I replaced my standard 5ft. USB A to B with an Audioquest Cinnamon 2 1/2 ft USB cable between my Bluesound Node and Mytek Brooklyn DAC+. Not sure it made much of a difference as it’s too difficult to swap cables for a listening test. With your sound samples via RUclips it was hard to discern the difference, maybe a little more bass with the Cinnamon. Thanks for posting your video.

Does this have to be done immediately after install in one step or is trial an error okay here? I’ve redone my config making only the changes needed for this but I’ve made a few mistake and I’m thinking maybe I should do fresh install with the edit completed and try again?

Hii, i have a mobo Asus prime h410m-e and intel i510400 with igpu, but when i boot the usb, only appears windows, not the sonoma install

My legacy version no matter how many times I re-install the software, it keeps crashing on me. So i cannot actually test the difference.

I'm starting to collect physical media specifically 4K discs, but I think the standard blurays (which typically come with the 4K, though not always) should be good enough for streaming. They'll take up way less space and probablly good enough quality to stream when I'm not at home etc.

Do you know if it works with FENVI WiFi 6E Intel AX210 PCIe Wireless and if not would it work with Ventura?

I once had a 13" 2011 Macbook Pro. It had a replaceable 2.5" HDD/SSD, replaceable RA; (2 Sticks) a replaceable battery and a fully replaceable DVD drive. HOW is it possible that a 16" M3 Macbook Pro has not a single upgradable component and less components overall?

New thermal paste will also work wonders for an old mac. I just got a 2012 mac mini and used OCLP to install sonoma. It was running really hot at over 90℃ playing a few youtube videos. Applying new thermal paste brought those temps down below 85℃, not to mention lowered the fan noise You might find 4k editing possible after that maintenance.

I have the same 2012 MBP. I could not ditch the CD/DVD drive prob because of the need to use CD or DVD for the VM Oses under Parallel. Or probably because I am too lazy :).

This was 100% the golden age, peaking up until mid-2015, just before the butterfly keyboard generation were introduced. Ever since then, I feel like apple's design choices just haven't been anywhere near as solid. I mean as powerful as the new M-Series chips are, we have ugly-ass notches on laptops and even the software if suffering, with them trying to make MacOS like iOS.

This lasted me 10 years.

Hi when i install mount efi and i run the program when pressing my mac os drive it says: There is no EFI Partition associated with that disk. I think it has to do with the fact that i should have partitioned the disk or something but i followed your video and i didnt see it. Trying hackintosh on a kaby lake i7 7700hq laptop. Ooo that's the best one! Your friend rocks! This specific version (2012 MBP 13") is an interesting case. As it was the last model to have an optical drive and multiple ports, they produced it for four years. You could still buy one brand-new in 2016, and it wouldn't be old or leftover stock. The only difference was it'd ship with the newest OS at time of manufacture. I was so lucky when I got mine in 2015. Best Buy was selling them as a Black Friday "doorbusters" deal, for $900... and it didn't sell out! I think people looked at the 2012 part and thought "eww, too old" and as such, there were plenty left when I went later that evening.

It's just so cool to see other people having the exact same journey as I had a couple years ago. Try going for a 2015 Pro if you want to continue with this. Great things are ahaed. ^^ Keep up the good work :)

This is the guide I was looking for! Any experience installing Hackintosh straight from latest Sonoma image? You mentioned you had issues with your Wifi and reverted back to Ventura, I'm thinking to try the Ventura Image instead of Sonoma since I'm having issues booting (Platform not supported). STAY AWAY of i Drive, one of the worse and most mediocre developed software i ever have tried. The shitty software, while staying in pause, after couple of standby start up circle in your computer, the software itself gets out of the “pause” status and then enter to a endless loop of “retrying”… retrying WHAT? If I did not resume it Also, do not expect a simple drag and drop system, go away if that is what you are looking for, they sell you some storage space but no, they do not sell storage space, they do sell managing your backup, the way they want not your way. There is no status indicator for each step or folder, just an overall indication, and once the backup is interrupted and need to resume or something you don’t know which files has been uploaded or what states or progress they are You could have the fastest net, but they will do whatever they want, from stuck numbers about its progress but using all the bandwidth and no progress to a extremely slow upload speed If you increment your backup in 5gb, and the already backed up files are up to 50gb, it will show a upload of 55gb.. WTH? If you and just one file to the backup it goes through all the process of verification for all the other files and good luck if you get out of the "retrying or verification status"

Not sure why you wouldn't just use Itunes, especially when using Mac OS. Its much easier and faster.

Your video gave me the confidence to finally give this a go, thanks man. I built my first Hackintosh in 2019 with Mojave. Still working great, I am about to embark on the OpenCore method with Monterey. I have installed a second SSD and created a new BIOS Profile and noticed that Clover was still being used to boot from the newly formed USB boot loader. Do you know if that is normal? I am problem solving an ACPI issue that hangs on boot and just realised the Clover boot screen was showing...it was so familiar I overlooked it.
