As someone born in 1950, the 1955 world as it is portrayed here is just awesome. Many things changed but at such a glacial pace, it was easy to forgot how far things had gotten. The movie also nailed the clashes of the two eras. If I was teaching a class in American history, I'd show the class this movie, "It's A Wonderful Life," and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." "Wonderful Life" shows segments of ordinary vernacular American life from 1918 to 1946. Despite being a comedy, a wacky one at that, the underlying plot of "Roger Rabbit" is how our car culture triumphed over how people for eons clustered downtown. This movie shows the effects of bustling downtown of 1955 and the suburban housing and shopping shift, leaving the downtown marginalized and neglected. (Robert Zemeckis directed both RR and BttF, playing on the same theme each time, but vastly different ways.)

The reaction style of looking away from the movie to dance and talk over key moments just isn't for me. On one hand I like more people discovering this great movie, but don't devalue it by ignoring the best parts. Left a thumbs down.

I didn't expect Jackie Jr to get whacked back in the day when I first saw the episode. But the kid had to go. Had too many chances and let's not forget he almost drowned in 2 inches of water.

I'm a bit late to this party but yes Clerks 2 and 3 are definitely worth checking out. I would definitely contribute a view and a like if you were to make reactions to those 2.

You're right, It had alot in common with Gran Torino to me too. The one thing that stood out was the complicated relationship with a priest in both movies, where maybe the main character was trying to get permission and forgiveness from God for taking a life because it was for the greater good.

I know I'm a little late, but I'm here for your reaction and thoughts. It's not in my personal top tier (but close), yet it is one hell of a decent film on all fronts. The story is such a fresh take on some old standards, and the whole cast is on fire!

Funny part is that they arrested Bruno after this for the murder of Carmine Gelante. One of the reasons why Joe's relationship with his wife was strained was because he was one of the first long term deep undercover agents

im 35 and the first time i seen this i was like 13? 14? around when i first started getting stoned. Alot of my friends just "didnt get it" but it was an instant classic to me. you gotta watch 2 and 3. the third one will get you in your feels. It was an amazing way to end this saga.
