How Some Koalas Helped Build Nickelodeon (Noozles)
In the late ‘80s, Noozles arrived on Nickelodeon as part of the newly launched Nick Jr. block, introducing a generation of kids to anime-whether they realized it or not. This mysterious and heartfelt series about magical koalas, parallel dimensions, and time travel was more than just an afternoon distraction-it played a key role in shaping the future of Nickelodeon itself.
But how did Noozles and the global koala craze of the 1980s help pave the way for Nick Jr. and even influence the rise of Nickelodeon’s first NickToons? And why has Japan all but forgotten about a show that left such an impact on American kids?

This channel needs to be more popular. Makes me mad it isnt!!
What's scary about the commercial? Honestly, younger millennials and gen-Z'ers (you know, the safe-space generations) are afraid of anything with eyes---even Teddy Ruxpin fills them with terror.
What is the name of the song in the beginning?
I was obsessed with this show when I was a preschooler! This, that other Koala show I forgot the name of and Eureka’s Castle. Took me till adulthood to find out it was an Anime.
Excellent video! Great analysis of a nearly forgotten cartoon from childhood.
This narrator's voice is a dead ringer for Terence Mckenna
Cool, they need to bring them back
amen
I'm much younger than most people who are probably watching this video, but I found out about this guy because I was watching the original Transformers movie with my mom and he voiced Blurr!
Although I never knew the man, I also have so many fond memories of John throughout my childhood. And the micro machine cars. 😊 On a side note, I had a severe stutter when I was a child (it's mild/moderate now) and I could have only dreamed of speaking like him.
Sounds like Ben Shapiro
I didn't realize that it's been that long.
I loved getting a wish book around Christmas time thanks again
This guys legendary I still have my original super van city and micro machines trains and cars and new micro machines when they came back in 2020 and the red new super van city
I remember these commercials.
This was great. I'm wnjoying your channel. I hope you continue!
doing a video about huggies diaper commercial of the 1980s.
I went as a California Raisin for Halloween when I was in kindergarten. I had the whole collection of toys.
Oh! I remember, so cute.
they need to bring this back
I hope you see how much of this show has been found, not alot, but like the clip of "i know where you live" was to a kid named aurthur, not the whole thing but some of it has surfaced
I loved the California rasins I had the action figures❤
Just a correction. The Comic ceased puplication in Denmark back in 2009. That was when author and artist Peter Madsen puolished the last album .
I remember watching Quark on German TV, and recently saw the live action movie. Thanks for the proof Quark isn't just the Mandela effect hitting me.
I had a bunch of them. My parents bought them from a place called “Pardini’s Toy Box”. It was a huge toy store all alone in a big lot.
Im 25 and i love the California raisins, have a huge collection and a tattoo
I miss the '90s
I remember seeing Omar first when I was a kid, so when Cuba was really making a name for himself in the mid and late 90s, kid me went "Omar has a brother?!"
This was remarkably done for a channel with such a low sub count. I can easily see you on the heels of Defunctland and similar documentary channels.
💖💖💖💖🙏🙏
Man love these videos! Such an interesting history to something I thought was so innocuous
It’s kinda funny because just today I got some of the Hardee’s toys from a garage sale, was way before my time but I swear I’d seen them on robot chicken or something and thought they looked interesting
I remember the California raisins what ever happened to um ?

Your channel is so good. Thanks for making it. I'm shocked you don't have more subscribers. You should start asking in your videos.
George Carlin called himself the anti Pete Best because Ringo Took Pete’s place as the Beatles drummer and Pete Best never got famous as the Beatles drummer and George Carlin says he took Ringos place as Ringo Starr and Ringo never got famous as mr conductor. You don’t need a DVD release since we can stream on You Tube
A Classic⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😊
I love McDonald's❤❤❤
15:59 Somebody wanted Dumbo’s Circus to be added on Disney+?😮
I recently picked up a set of four of those Hardee's California Raisins figures in an antique store in Massachusetts.
This show isn’t considered lost media. Basically every episode, including the Pilot with different hosts can be found if you look hard enough. Might want to do some actual research before spreading misinformation.
Who voiced over The Cab Driving Crash Test Dummy?! Is it Maurice LaMarche or Homer Simpson’s voice?!
I loved Valhalla and the Quark tv-show
Lorenzo will never be forgotten.
I was offended when I heard about Dumbo 2, how could they make a sequel without using these characters? And it's not like they were using characters from the original movie either, they're all too problematic. They had a new cast of Gary Stus all lined up for no good reason. Thankfully, not-Cosby/Weinstein put a stop to that when he was named CEO in 2006.
I never saw Vince and Larry as morons. They're smart, they know seatbelts save lives, but wearing them isn't their job. Their job is to show people why safety belts save lives by not wearing them. Vince just gets fed up with crashing all the time is all. And I don't blame him, it's a monotonous job. Plus, at times, he feels like the message falls on deaf ears.
Ah, executives take popular show, "fix" it to try to make it more popular, and then end up ruining it, tale as old as time.
<"GhostBusters - Great Value" was the peak of Ghostbusters content>
Though I was only 6 when Shining Time Station premiered, I was already a Beatles fan, so getting to see Ringo on a children’s show was an extra treat. 💙
I feel old lol I remember this show it was awesome
