    For many this is their DBZ. My generation with the emergence of Toonami led the charge for anime to become so prominent in the states. Attack on Titan was the second coming of that which had numerous eyes tuned in to see what the hype was all about while becoming a bridge for an audience to discover the art form for themselves. Isayama, while not necessarily in the same conversation as Toriyama, will certainly be mentioned of fondly for his contrubtions years and years after the fact. A permanent spot in the top 10 animes of all-time.

    Can we all talk about the fight at the bar Paul had with Rudeus.Paul dissed(insulted)Rudeus first and Paul threw the first punch so objectively Paul started it yet a large amount of the fandom thinks the fight was Rudeus’ fault.Plus it was a grown man getting drunk and punching his son so anyone that likes Paul support abusive and toxic characters.

    I 100% agree. I'm also an avid blindwave and thenormies watcher and they've completely taken over any rewatching I would've done otherwise. Hopefully the added marketing value reaction channels bring is enough for the larger corporations to feel like it evens out in the end or we get some kind of content id system that lets reaction channels react to any content they want with a standard cut for the original creators.

    While I disagree with your argument, I respect how articulately you laid it out and how well polished this video is! You’re truly talented at making these essays and more people should be watching your work. Thank you for the praise you gave reaction channels which we do not too often get. It’s rare to be able to hear this perspective so nicely laid out. While everyone’s viewing experience is subjective, it can’t be denied that some people fall into the same category as you with the active/passive viewing experiences. It all comes down to two points. The first is how do the majority of people choose to rewatch shows and the second is what metrics do studios use to determine success. I don’t believe the rewatch view of a show/movie is what will push it over the needle to be considered a success. That’s decided right upon release like the box office for theatrical releases and week 1-2 streaming hits. As for rewatches, I can only speak from my own subjective experience on it: I recently did a rewatch of My Hero Academia by watching it on CrunchyRoll. I never even considered to watch a reaction on it even though I run a reaction channel and will occasionally watch some myself. I think there’s a specific niche of folks like us who enjoy reaction videos that don’t represent the larger mainstream non-internet dwellers on YT. Those mainstream viewers (actual normies) are the folks that make up the majority of streaming hits for different programs. I actually purchased my own personal subscription of CrunchyRoll because I was sick of always sharing The Normies login lol. The mark of a truly good show that deserves those additional streaming hits is one that will make you go back and rewatch in its entirety. Those shows deserve it. Most of the time RUclips/Instagram/TikTok will post the big highlight WTF moments anyway, in their entirety, that most people will watch as a market sub. Whereas with reaction channels, there is at least some back and forth engagement going on between the viewer and the reactor.

    Your argument is pretty weak. It’s like saying reading half the pages in each chapter of a book is re-reading the book. While simultaneously acknowledging and ignoring the reactor’s reactions and thoughts as part of the experience. Also your personal experience alone doesn’t have enough impact on the market to qualify reactions as substitutes. Especially in the context of fair use where every branch of those four factors need to be considered. I’m sure there’s other people who do the same thing, but reactions primarily became as big as they are on the back of GOT’s Red Wedding episode. Because people wanted to see people reaction to that episode. Not so they can rewatch the episode and ignore the reaction. You can’t separate those two aspects. The problem in the reaction community is channels who show the entire episode or movie. Those are the market substitutes and should be the actual focus of videos. Especially because it doesn’t seem like you are trying to argue that reactions aren’t fair use? In which case what even is the point of this? Just talking to talk??

    I think this interpretation is not quiet accurate, the reason behind Paul telling those words is not because of his consistent failures in life, but rather simply to show his determination and desperation, and truly show rudeus how serious he was, since just before that statement, rudeus had his doubts whether zenith is alive or dead, he truly wanted to make it clear that doesn't matter, thou it might seems telling those words to just prove his seriousness would be extreme, but for Paul he had no other way to make his genius son get how he feels, since like Eris, his also not good with words. (My opinion)

    Honestly, I think she and Aisha shouldn’t have been there. During that discussion. It was a conversation between husband and wife. Meaning both Rudy, Roxy, and Sylphie. Although I can’t blame her for being hypocritical back there. Her father was killed, while her mother is stuck in a dream like state forever. Then suddenly her brother commits adultery due to the loss of his father. She reacted that way because of emotions were somewhat spiraling during that particular moment. She was angry about the fact that her brother wanted to take Roxy as his second wife who looks like a pre-teen. That goes against her own religion. So that was a normal reaction. The series was just displaying this episode scene to create drama for the fans to talk about.

  • @kingnamor7777
    @kingnamor7777 Месяц назад

    Honestly I don’t hate or like her. I simply see her as a powerless girl who was dealt with a bad hand by life. But instead of wallowing into despair due to her being just a normal girl suffering from middle child syndrome along with thinking that she is a burden on her father and was sent to her grandmother who constantly berated for not being better as her half sister and being compared to her older brother. She instead works hard to achieve honorable achievement.

    in this second argument, both of them are right and thats why it hurts to watch in a good way. rudeus didnt want to worry paul, and paul was both too tired and drunk to see past his facade. when people say that rudeus’ demon continent arc was easy, i just remember he nearly sold one of his most precious items, literally got his eye gouged out, and was trying to fix an entire world’s perspective on one race, partly because if he didnt, his companion would have an even worse life and/or they would get killed. Paul had been working himself to exhaustion, as was rudeus, and both of them had someone depending on them, norn and eris respectively. it was neat how they went through journeys that paralelled each other, both starting out in a barren land, with someone to protect, and taking on the mental burdens of their travelling parties respectively. this argument hurts in a good way to watch because they both have such similar experiences, and did similar things to survive, putting others’ needs before their own, like rudeus restoring ruijerd’s reputation and protecting eris, and paul raising norn without any of the things you would need to raise a child such as food and a secure place to rest. both meet each other near their respective breaking points, with rudeus trying not to think about anything other than getting eris home, and paul being obviously exhausted both physically and mentally, and it results in a very powerful scene, which leaves you feeling hella emotionally involved with these characters and their respective journeys (at least i felt that anyway)

  • @Freedmoon44
    @Freedmoon44 Месяц назад

    Both Paul and Rudeus both grew as the series continued Rudeus needed to start truly maturing after his first life was a mess, an adult who couldnt confront the world is little more than an adult in name. Paul needed to truly start maturing as his own impulses led to countless mistakes he felt guilty about. One grew to become a better person, the other dedicated his everything for a final endeavor for the sole purpose of fixing his mistakes, becoming the dependable father he always wished to be and his familly always wished to have

    There's something that I need to outline because it wasn't in the video but should've been. Paul had no reason to not believe in Rudy as he, at that time, was a model child that never did a thing to make his father believe he couldn't be trusted, as mentioned by Rudeus. On the other hand, Rudy had all the reasons in the world to think his father slept with his companions as it is very much in character for him to do so, far as Rudy knows. So where I think Rudy shouldn't have berated his father without inquiring further than just presumptions, there were precedents supporting his beliefs.

    Rudy was like 9yrs old there? Like bruhhhhh, that argument at the bar doesn't even matter. He's a child dropped into the most dangerous demon lands. How Paul could not see that is insane. Doesn't matter if Rudy is a prodigy, he's still a child in need of protection. Paul truly was a failure of a father. Talking about rescuing his family, well rescue his son! Right in front of him and doesn't care Rudy is alive. Fascinating show, Paul is a shit show.

    I dislike your framing of Rudy being in the wrong during their second argument. I assume that's not what you meant to say, only that he's no longer in a position of authority. I agree with that position, but Rudius is clearly the character the audience is expected to sympathize with during their second encounter. He's just a child happy to be reunited with his father and trying to express himself as best he knows how. Paul's inability to look past his own circumstances makes him unable to see that until Geese reframes it for him. So I think it's inaccurate to say this is where Paul becomes a father to Rudy. I'd say this is where they become equals. But Paul still has some growing to do before he's ready to impart the fatherly wisdom Rudy needs.

    No. Paul on the 2nd argument was still wrong. Rudy asked him several times but Paul never explained. I do understand Paul was depressed and pretty much given up, but you can't blame a child no matter how much of a genius he is. Paul was wrong. Even geese sides and explains it to paul. Thats why he apologized later.

    Thank you for pointing out Rudeus is Paul's equal. The light novels CLEARLY depict this and talk about it, they make Rudeus the same height as Paul and I took this as meaning that Rudeus is on the same level as Paul. With Rudy starting his own family and Paul and Rudeus working together, but the anime doesnt do this, clearly showing Paul looking down at Rudy. Yet in the light novels Rudues is specificly super tall, only Zenoba is really taller then him
