    Hi, thank you, your videos are very helpful! I got my ektar recently and I've got one question, which seems a bit stupid but I don't want to mess up the film: if it's a half frame, should i roll the film every second picture or every single one?

    • @Anjroo
      @Anjroo 4 дня назад

      The camera itself is half frame! So use it “normally”, you don’t need to do anything special to it :) wind all the way, shoot, repeat!

    I know this was 5 months ago, but still here's my opinion: A: Warm colors, I kinda like that, except for a few pictures where the whites are too white and too bright (idk if that makes sense), a bit out of focus both close and far away in most if not all the photos but still shows more details B: Colder colors, I like the contrast between the dark areas and the light areas, better focus area, but somehow less details in landscape/buildings I like them both, A colors and B looks easier to get things in focus which means you can get details easier, prob will lean towards B, but I'm down to try them both

    In a former video you say that it is not good to expose disposable cameras to x-rays. Is it the same with this camera? And if I let them check the camera at the airport by hand, isn't it a problem when they open it and expose the film to the light? How do I avoid this problem? Should I buy a new film before each trip and finish it before leaving? 😅

    • @Anjroo
      @Anjroo 9 дней назад

      TSA will likely swab the camera without opening it, the point of swabbing is to avoid the need to open it! But I’ve heard horror stories where they try to open up cameras 😬

    FAQ’s: How much to advance? If it’s not advanced enough it won’t shoot, and it’ll stop you when it’s wound up enough to shoot! The camera is pretty user proof :) hard to mess it up What film? Whatever is cheap! Or you can also check out my video on what film to buy! What film should you buy? ruclips.net/video/9d79Ff9KOHo/видео.html How to get the pictures on your phone? Film is not digital at all, wherever you get the film developed will also scan your film, then they will either email you the film or give you a thumb drive. I don’t recommend Walmart! I dev/scan at home, so I can’t recommend anyone, however there are online sites where you can mail the film :) Hope this helps!

    I think a 35mm panoramic film can be developed at a regular photo lab just like a normal 35mm film, but do they scan it for you? Also how many frames do you get from a 36 exposure film?

    • @Anjroo
      @Anjroo 14 дней назад

      I got between 8-11, depending on how brave I felt haha, it has so much resistance on the advance that it feels like I’m going to snap the roll, but then I’m always shocked to see how much more film was left. Yes a lab could dev, no a lab most likely wouldn’t scan pano as it’s more niche

    I've been shooting film for a few months.. im still terrible at knowing when to shoot specially with the H35N with its exposure problems, but film photography has been teaching me how to accept failure as a learning lesson instead of making me feel guilty and stressed about which always make me give up on learning new things. It's also teaching me patience, not only with the developing process but also taking my time to look around and actually see the beauty in the details.

    I shoot with film for a variety of reasons. First, and maybe primarily, I inherited an old Pentax from my mom. I remember my uncle Less gave it to her as a gift when I was little. So it's a way to be close to her even though she's gone. Second, I guess I don't feel like learning how the menu works. My career has me using a computer all day long, and I just dont want to look at a screen when I'm off work. Third, I like playing with all the dials and switches. I kind of feel like a kid playing with a toy, using my imagination, transporting myself into a narrative that isn't my real life.

    If someone want to go to flim. I advise to go into the rabbit hole now. Firstly u will frustrated about everything which force u to do intentional shooting trying to capture the decisive moment in only one shot. Autofocus is handy but don’t rely too much on them. U will be frustrated by flim loading incorrectly shooting the blank roll. Or shooting the entire roll then rewind the flim forgetting that button the flim break. Frustrating about incorrect iso for u can only shooting in the light while the camera becomes the hipster necklace in the dark. Nothing in flim photography will help u. Only u is in control of the photo. Every mistake is u not the camera. Everything will force u to think commit and fail a lot. For someday u pick a camera into the street only shooting one to two image in a roll. While in digital u shoot thousand of them! But something in that image is absolutely work like magic due to imperfection of missing decisive moment. Som old flim photographer do spray and pray in flim but some is like me go out and doesn’t shoot anything lol. The shutters the docking that electric winding mechanism that flim rolling sound that noisy autofocus sound are like magic and felt stastified.
