This is amazing! Thanks for posting it. I’m a Gen X Er and this reminds me of being in the elevator, grocery store, shopping mall, or doctor’s waiting room in 1980. It’s wild to hear some of my lifelong favorite songs Muzakized . Fame! I have a cassette tape of me singing that song when I was 5. I feel like roller skating or dancing 💃🏻🪩🕺 edit- the next song slowed down, looking forward to funky town edit to my edit- take your time do it right was great, some of funky town sounds like a video game from the 80’s 💀 this channel is cool I subbed

I worked at Montgomery Ward in the 80's. I use to go up stairs and start the muzak tape. Even then i liked the background music. I wish i could find the extact music on that tape.

They actually used to play this all the time in lots of stores til like the 2000’s, I think they stopped around 2009. When my dad took me to Walmart when I was 2, they played “I wanna get sedated” out of all songs and a bunch of old people were dancing to it. This was in 2009, my dad was shocked to hear regular music at stores at the time. Today when I was helping my dad with the groceries for DoorDash, I started listening to this and it actually fits.

I remember Every Breath You Take Muzak from when I was shopping as a kid! That was my all-time favorite song, so hearing the Muzak version at the store was such a treat, whenever they played it.

I'm gonna also count this as a 4th of July upload, because of the Star Spangled Banner.
