Great video...I have a really strange question..the uk has a fair bit of low Mileage RS5s.. the prices are not too bad either considering...is this because of tax savings with electric now? ..just an interesting point I noted...I just bought mine out of the uk...2022 carbon black (8k miles)..

Hi Annie, love your honesty in the car reviews. People people don't criticize steering inputs, or can compare to Lotuses. Can you review a few Boxster/Caymans? Would love to hear a comparison with the Lotus. Maybe MX5, GT86, GR86 and S2000 if you want any further ideas :D

Very good review. Was surprised that feedback is poor. You have the same issue I have, once you have a Lotus everything feels dead. I fixed it by going back to a Lotus and sticking with it. Tried Porsche, Ms, F Type and I would love to do the Ferrari thing but service fear stops me.

Good review please keep honest. As you are obviously a real driver and enjoy the drive, sounds like you need to get rid of the dull Audi. Daily something fun, enjoy the drive everyday. Massive thank you for sharing and getting it, I agree people don’t get the feel. Made the 911 I had a feel like a RS5 boat. Very special car and the last real Lotus built in the UK now Lotus is sold off. Im over 6ft and have the knack for entry exit in my loved 220.

It's a nice car, but it's competition has keyless entry, more trunk space, better functioning electronics? It's gorgeous. I own a Supra that lacks an exterior trunk button and also doesn't lock itself when we walk away. I know, I'm a drama queen, but we also own a 2018 Civic that almost will cook your dinner! I like the features that make a vehicle more usable. Good luck, Lotus. I may end up with a used, well worn Emira in the future?

I absolutely love the Emira. There's not a better looking car for the money. I think if you review the exhaust in the context of an Exige, it wont be as good... But that's like saying one of the Klitschko brother's is less hard than the other. The Emira exhaust is subject to modern emissions, but that is easily fixed with a GPF delete pipe. It just more character than its competitors and if you value the experience of proper driving, then this is the one. There's nothing wrong with a point and squirt GT4 either. 👍🏼

Great video. Way back in 2003, I was considering buying a Ferrari 355 as had always liked the shape and the noise of the V8 so I hired one for a weekend trip to Dorset. Generally loved the noise (it had some aftermarket exhaust), the gear change which was much nicer to use than on 308 I drove a few years previously and the ride and handling but like you the biggest let down was the steering which was very light but had very little feel. It sounds like 360M has the same issue. I also wanted to get into track days and the 355 didn't seem like it would tolerate being run at high revs for a sustained period so I ended up getting a Porsche 996 GT3 which was huge fun and which i kept for many years.

I have exige 420 fe and a Mclaren 570. Love them madly!

Does have a few quirks but once you get around those it’s a brilliant all rounder. The Niam Audio is pants! Considering it was a 5k option or something silly, I’d rather chuck my AirPods in 😂

You really do a great job with these reviews. Fair, balanced and personality plus. I was able to test drive the Emira in the states well over a year ago. I think you know I ended up getting an Evora GT and then moding and tuning it to be pretty fast with great sounds. I found a curvy five mile stretch of road near me here in flat Florida. lol. I averaged over 80mph with a top of 110. Had a smile the entire time. Felt like being on a track. Cheers!! PS An electric parking brake is a mistake. If you are on a hill with a dead battery, no way to stop the car from rolling. Agree with the need for another 50 or so HP. PSS The Emira has yet to be delivered to customers in the US. They are here, sitting in parking lots because of the emission rules in California as it goes through the bureaucracy.

This is not a DB11 V12 AMR. This is a 2016/17 Launch Edition car with an AMR software update, which came with a new under bonnet badge. The actual DB11 AMR, which was released in 2019, is a good deal sportier looking, lighter and a bit stiffer.

press a button to unlock the car, really? 400hp in a 2 seater manual is the best configuration for any one who likes going through the gears with engine breaking and blasting out the corners, I can't see how you can compare a fast executive auto german autobahn cruiser with this tarmac scraper with proper suspension. Try a 1.9 205 gti to learn how to drive, then treat the emira the same then you might get what its about. I have one btw so I know.

I like your review but you missed the point it supposed to be a grown up sports car. That is the point thats what they are trying to do the I 4 is better lighter better weight distribution easier to drive Also the RS 5 is a boat and ugly as sin the lotus beats it on looks and design The Audi RS3 is not as good looking but price proformace practicality wise it gives both lotus the porsche cayman competitive problems

Great info! I spent the past year searching for a "all-in-wonder" replacement for my APR-tuned 2-door Mk7 GTI w/ DSG. I test drove a 2022 RS5 Sportback, 2021 RS6 Avant, 2022 RS3, 991.1 C2S, 981 Boxster, Tesla Model Y dual-motor, 2023 Panamera 4, and M240i. After all of that I determined that my Mk7 GTI was already so close to perfection that, rather trying to replace it, I would add a used naturally-aspirated 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 w/ PDK. I had also considered the Emira but the subsequent price increases, delivery time slippage, and lack of adaptive suspension made the used Cayman a no-brainer for my needs.

How do you find clearance in the 410? Speed bumps/ ramps etc? Thank you.

Good review. Interesting that you'd buy an Emira rather than your RS5, if you didn't already own a Lotus Exige. Looking at your "cons" (muted exhaust, keyless entry, manual transmission, needs 50-100 HP, and temperamental parking brake), the parking brake was addressed in the comments by an Emira owner, I understand why you'd prefer an automatic transmission however that's one of THE main reasons I'm eagerly waiting for my Emira since I +++ miss a stick (and I suspect there will be MANY who agree with that, especially with those transmissions being a dying breed), I'm also "spoiled" by a keyless entry with all of my vehicles so I'll reserve judgment on that, however I think it a small sacrifice for everything else you get with the Emira, my spouse will appreciate a quieter exhaust note...she isn't a fan of my current Corvette C8, and I'm gladly trading HP for the Lotus handling, but will look at modifying the HP if I really miss it. Thanks again for your review.

I've got a Model 3 Performance as my commuter car and imo it is the best daily for the money. Costs 7.5p/kWh at home and i get to charge for free at work. I have driven nearly 20,000 miles and it costs me just £71 home charging for a car with about 527hp. I previously had a BMW M3 Competition with 450hp and i used to spend £600 a month on fuel alone. Tesla is just the best for my needs, other ICE cars simply can't match it for daily use, running cost, AWD capability, tech and instantly available power. I still have 3.4L 981S when i want to hear NA howling flat six to scratch my inner petrolhead's itch. 😉
