Lotus build great drivers cars, no question. In my experience, the whole sill ingress/egress thing is overblown, but I genuinely think if a car is too comfortable & too convenient to use, then ultimately it’s just not unique or special enough & is just too dull to be a truly memorable drivers car. Maybe I’m a masochist, but I think you have to give something of yourself to the car, in order to get more back, or in other words ‘suffer for your art’. Enjoy your new whizzer.

I had an Evora 400 for a short time, but traded up for my Evora GT in the States, which is the best Lotus I can get. I did some mods on it and dyno tuned it to where it has 504bhp and the sound, as you say is amazing. Its performance is very close to your Exige 410. Cheers!

That "feeling fast but doing the speed limit" feeling you described is what makes these cars so special in addition to the magical cornering. I feel the exact same thing in my 2005 Federal Elise (111R) that I've had for almost four months now. Love love love the fact that I can enjoy and get the most out of it while doing it all legally. For most modern American performance cars, you put your foot down a few seconds and then you're breaking the law without realizing it. Hope you own and enjoy that Exige 410 for a very long time! With Lotus sadly no longer producing these special vehicles and with the Emira being their last planned ICE car, the Elige platform vehicles are only going to get more special and appreciated as time goes on.
@annie650s I have an Elise Cup 250, I love it to bits, it's also the only 250 revised shape in motorsport black with a full CF pack in the uk so it's rare, but it lacks in power, noise, and the brakes aren't the best, the exige was on a whole other level that it would cost thousands £ to get the elise to! Collection day tomorrow!!!! Hope you're still enjoying the v6 noise! 😊

I did! I actually did a week long review of the V6 manual version (it's on the channel!), but the Exige is my track toy. The Emira was good, but it was too close to my RS5 in terms of comfort and stuff. But, fantastic car and I really enjoyed my time with it!
I only briefly considered boosting my Elise. What you gain in mid-range torque is more than offset by rev loss and the F1 sound of the Larini exhaust on-cam up to red line. It is has all you want up to 125mph which is actually usable, and at 845kg will still outhandle anything. Plus with an Elise I have only had the roof on a handful of times making ingress/egress easy.
@@annie650s Is there anything more fun on 4 wheels? I have done 29,000 miles in 5.5 years. As for spec the motor is stock, I did the stiffening of the shift lever (super easy). The previous owner did a mild reflash, Larini exhaust, Sector 111 oil pan, carbon splitter and rear wing, higher volume Evora airbox, carbon roof (only on track days) and carbon roof bar (it looks incredible). I put on carbon side skirts and canards. I had the carbon side air inlet covers for the full 'Cup' package but took them off. I like the slotted strakes much better. Sport pak and touring pak from the factory. Keep daily driving!

@@annie650s in here Turkey we have very few Lotus cars. I can say 30 car max. Now on I am dealing with Elise Sprint 1.6 this car is only one in Turkey. If I can manage to sell my E36 M3 , I will own the first one. Exige is next step but Exige is harder to find there are only 4-5 and all are automatic 350’s :( The bad thing is we are not allowed to buy second hand cars under 45 years from abroad :( Because of custom rules :(
17s front, 18s back. I'll probably get a set of 18s all round to make getting track tyres easier though. Not sure what the exact size is, will have to check!

hello to a fellow Lotus obsessed Autist! I often think about swapping from my evora S to a 12c my favourite thing to do is big roadtrips so the Exige is out of the question I think. have you thought about taking it to komotec for extra power?
Is the autism that obvious?! Ahahah! The Exige is honestly way more usable than you'd think! But if you're going to go Mclaren, why not 650s? Na, doesn't need it really and I don't want to risk issues. I will go back into another Mclaren eventually, but probably keep the Exige as well!
When the chap was getting out, be careful not to push/pull on the roof, near the windscreen surround as the windscreen can crack. Wonderful car, congrats 🥂
It’s definitely a if you know, you know car. I try and explain it to people but the only way you can truly get it and appreciate it is by driving one!

I (nearly!) 60 and I get in/out of my 26 year old Elise no problem at all, don't even think about it. I attend 2 Pilates courses every day though.....

Agree 100%! The Mclaren was always, I felt, too fast for the road, but the Exige is just the most of everything in my opinion!
Cannot say the most fun in my 111R is done at legal speeds as its handling is its pure joy and is almost all above that.
Just bought my 410, upgrading from an elise. Can't wait to collect it!

I loved my S2 Elise. Dailyed it for 7 years. Brilliant haven't the roof off as well!
