I'm sorry about all these typos with my phone. I was trying to say that every time I have asked someone from the new thought movement who was trained in the lines of thinking that Eric talks about here, when I have asked them how a child a very young child could possibly have attracted abuse through their level of consciousness, they just simply don't have an answer. And I have yet to read any new thought, book or listen to any new thought lecture that doesn't make a sweeping statement about this type of subject. They all insist that you can always experience what your consciousness has attracted and has a mental equivalent for. But when you bring up a real life example, how can a child for example have possibly attracted through their consciousness a state of abuse? My wife and I were foster parents at one time. So I have some experience with this subject. One of the boys we were fostering had been badly abused. How could he possibly have attracted that through his level of consciousness? There's no way a 3 or 4-year-old child can have built up some sort of mental equivalent or AQ to attract and abuse of adult into its life. And this is where I think all religious movements including unity and new thought, fall short when they start making sweeping broad statements like this. To stick with general principles and make generalizations is one thing. To make sweeping statements across the board that things are always a certain way does tend to drift into Pollyanna world when you come to situations like what my wife and I witnessed as Foster parents.

I agree. We need to not be arrogant. Actually, I've reached a point in my life where I don't engage with fundamentalists and evangelicals anymore. It only raises my blood pressure and gets you nowhere.

​@drianej I still have some friends and family who are evangelicals, and I don't criticize them and don't seek to stir up conflict with them or anybody else. At the same time, of course. I cannot help but be aware that I have a more open view of life and my place in it. I appreciate your candor.

I agree. Not all that happens to us in life is the result of our consciousness.

@@drianej I am so so glad to hear you share that. Ian. I shy away from rigid dogma of any kind. And even in the new thought world, that for many people is a dogmatic belief, but everything that happens to you I'm going to critically was attracted to you by your level of consciousness. It simply has not been my experience that this is a 100% universal truth, even though to a large degree, it does tend to prove itself to be true. True. Just not 100% of the time in every single case. I'm glad that you are open-minded enough to share that. I had a little bit of trepidation that you would not.

@drianej have you seen Carl Jung's BBC interview on Face to Face? He talks about, describes the 'Intuitive introvert' that's how it works within me, curiously in a 'insight' I was led to it. I help younger Intuitive introverts understand themselves a bit better, not feel so alone and isolated. Many of them say,' You made me feel I'm normal'. We created our own little community, so we're not so alone isolated (although as introverts, we are never alone, but it's nice to be able to connect to others too, & it's a very very different type of connection that we have to the non Intuitive introverts) Contrary to popular belief, We are also extremely outgoing people we LOVE life. Love living life to the fullest love having fun can also easily be the life of a party. In fact, people are drawn to us for this very reason. People love being around us, saying 'You're such fun with no dragg afterwards' Just have fun go home NO dramas or negative after effects' 🌻
