K5 BLAZER SOUND DEADENING THE ENTIRE FLOOR
Просмотров 2 тыс.Год назад
I finally finish out all of the rust in the floors and prep it to install sound deadening material covering the ENTIRE floor - front to back of the m1009 k5 Blazer. This should help keep the heat/ road noise to a minimum.
I HAD to cut the ENTIRE end of the bed off the k5 Blazer.

In this video I found more rust under the end of the "bed" in the K5 blazer (m1009). I cut it out and replace it with some flat 1/4" steel bar. Hopefully it turns out the way im thinking.

    Just watched your video, and had exactly the same problem, which was never there before, after replacing my fuel pump with a NAPA unit for a no start/fuel sender issue. Logically, I couldn't see why the evap cannister would be problematic: I was leaning towards a problem with the fuel pump because that shutoff valve is incorporated in it. I'm glad I saw this before I invested. But at 69, I am not stoked that I'll have to go under the truck for a third time (I replaced the vent solenoid). BTW, superfun video!

Also for patches in the floor area. My interior is bedlinered so everything blends in pretty well. I've never had anyone notice the method I used. • @rndlife
      @rndlife Год назад

      Be sure to pressure test the cap on the reservoir, It may just be failing. If it is, its a dirt cheap fix. Remember temperature and pressure are relative. Water boils at 212 degrees at sea level. The higher the pressure the higher the temperature can go without boiling. If the spring in the cap is failing, then the system wont hold proper pressure thus causing it to boil and blow out of the tank at a lower temperature.

    A couple of quick things: That's not the original back battery tray. Never heard of a cold winter package. That's very interesting. The hydroboost is the brake booster, driven by the PS pump. Those are semi valuable (or used to be) for gas cars with very aggressive cam. These rolled off the assembly floor in woodland camo, not olive green. Many were sprayed tan in Iraq. Then they came back to the USA and some were given to police / fire and they painted them whatever. Someone welded over the radio antenna mounts on this one. Should be forward mounts. It's more valuable if you reinstall them. New steel wheels are dirt cheap. Like $70 each. Merrick sells mounting plates for modern rear seats - third row Suburban. The hitch mount is very weak. Remove it. A modern K5 receiver mount is much stronger. The service lights must be on if you want brake lights and turn lights. The other switch is for infrared cats eyes in the bumpers during night vision use. The trans and transfer case also have some kind of custom heating stuff. Axles are both 10-bolt. Rear is LSD. Front is open. The transmission issue sounds like a vacuum pump issue. The diaphragm rots out over time. That assembly fakes out the vacuum of a gas engine. Great video. Thanks. DM me if I can help.

      @@rndlife i fixed The issue as well, it turns out I had a bad fuel pump since I had gotten it from a cheap auto parts store… but i heard that this is a pretty common issue

      @@kevinfrancisco3821 Yep VERY common

      @@kevinfrancisco3821 Yeah apparently the aftermarket sending units are built alright, but there are small details like the spring pressure on this one or other small things that they sometimes get wrong. Buying OEM is usually recommended, but if you like to tinker a bit, and you have the time things like this will def help us understand the systems that make the vehicles run, and how they work. lol

    Dude, I got the same issue with an ‘08 frontier. What do you recommend I just changed the fuel pump because it when out. Go to a junkyard and find me one of those I guess. Awesome video

      Sorry I diddnt see this comment sooner. Apparently the spring was different in the aftermarket unit compared to the factory unit. Thats what literally fixed ALL of my fueling issues.

      A pulley might be getting to a point where it's not turning freely. Belts and alt. can be fine but if pulleys are grabbing or hesitating -- just not turning well -- it will cause issues like not being able to charge your battery. When the vehicle shuts down so does the steering. I don't know Nissans well but I'm a former Honda Class A tech. Good luck.

    Hey, good video. I have the same problem with my Nissan frontier 2011 crew cab, 4.0 motor. We replaced fan clutch, radiator, thermostat and water pump and still have the issue. Any idea what else could be?

      Be sure when burping it you have it on an incline. I just backed into a ditch so the front end was elevated to get all the air bubbles out. Some people claim you can just jack up the front end to achieve the same result, but I have not tried it.

    I see they didn't add a magnetic starter..on yours..if yours is a 5 hp..unit..2 stage...pls add one to yours. It will save you troubles....I'm a compressor guy. Nice unit.. they cost around 300 bucks....IR bottom line..there saving themselves money..costing u more in the long run..if you buy from a farm store..look at there 7 hp. Units they pull about 60 amps..and come stanard..standard.. unit that pulls 25 to 60 amps need a magnetic starter..rule of thumb..I have a 3 hp.2 stage unit..came with a starter..srandard..standard.. the factory.....60 gal. Made by Saylor-beall..in st.johns ,Michigan..USA made. Great video..ty..
