I think the simplicity of the first one also has to do with the art styles, because the comic is hella detailed and the donghua (I don’t think I spelled that right forgive me y’all) is much more plain and one dimensional.

Me: “oh my god, Hua Cheng Comic version looks so hot, I’m going to see how much he is.” Me checks the Ringdoll site and sees both Hua Cheng and Xie Lian (in his ceremony outfit) and instantly crying two seconds later: “BOTH OF THEM ARE $800/$900 EACH IN US DOLLARS!!!!!” 🤯🤯🤯 (I live in Australia and I know that it’s going to be more expensive in my currency.)
