This was the craziest transformation ever in wrestling. Never hear anyone talk about it. At one Rumble Muracco was bigger than hogan and leaner than warrior (look back if you dont believe me) Funny his physique resembled dino but was better. Makes sense that trained together...

Muraco is so underrated. He was great in the early-80s.

I never get tired of hearing old wrestling stories. There all behind us imo. The steroid/drug carnival lol made it a once in a lifetime thing. I know there are tragic stories from that but, they were the best of times in wrestling sadly. Glad we have so much never ending content of those days!

Muraco was such an athletic big man and he sold it in the ring so well. I gotta say I wanted to be built like him or Dino Bravo as a kid (big shoulders, massive chest and keg for a belly).

I got up to about 550 on squats and I loved them as they worked the whole body, though I was religious with all body parts back then. I had a sudden pinch nerve reaction in my upper left thigh, down on one knee, and realized (near 40 yrs old), I had to revert to reverse leg presses alone from then on, piling up the weights from all over the gym to get close to what I needed. A bit harder on the back that way than the knees. Never would touch steroids, already heard about them - I was 6' 4", only 215. Got a degree in fitness and nutrition too. Good ol' healthy days. I can listen to Don all day.

I was a kid when Dynamite Kid came into the Portland area. I think he was there more than a few months... he came in young and fast, and had moves nobody had ever seen. Great worker even at that young age. He was here long enough to have feuds, lose a hair match, stay bald for a while and grow his hair back. That had to take more than a few months. It was great watching "our" guys (Piper, Dynamite, Adrian Adonis, Matt "Doink" Bourne, Billy Jack, Hennig, Bryan Adams, etc) go on to the WWF... although they made our top heels (Rose and Oliver) into jobbers, which made me sad.
