Mexico celebrates death in many ways, and this museum is a great example of how the country accepts death opposed to fearing it. TORREÓN, Coahuila | The City That Guide Books Don't Mention | MEXICO

Many, including Mexicans, view Torreón as a place to avoid. Apparently it’s an industrial town with not a lot happening. My Lonely Planet guide book doesn’t have a single mention (other than the dot on the map) about Torreón. Another book I have (published 20 years ago) also fails to mention Torreón - all of this combined made me curious; WHY / HOW could a place be so bad that it’s swept under ...

21:39 Beautiful! There is video of Queen Elizabeth II standing in a car parading through this very spot in the 1960’s or 70’s. Through my ancestors in Zacatecas, I am very far cousins with her, that would’ve been fun to see. Thanks for the excellent video and relaxing walk!! Nice work

Great content, I really like your style, it’s not fast and obnoxious, full of video of stuffing one’s face with food like they tend to do nowadays. And you give good shots of the architecture 👍🏼 My family is descended from two of the four founders of Zacatecas City. When you were having a beer, I wanted so much to have one with you and check out the sights! Saludos!

Dude paid the cheapest possible airbnb in the entire city and yet the fool was expecting the 5 star experience! 😂 This is the opinion of an ignorant traveler who clearly knows *nothing* about Guatemala City. If you go to Chicago would you stay at Englewood? Westminster in London? Common sense will stop you from getting the shittiest airbnb in town. And yet... He walked around for 5 days, filming constantly and nothing ever happened, but he says the place is unsafe because "people kept looking at him"?

Zone one is a so, so zone. I'm from Guatemala City, and won't disagree with you on the things that you have seen, and you are right its not so safe crime has been an issue for decades in our city. Tho with that said Guatemala City, has more to offer got to Zone 10 or zone 16 and 15 also parts of zone 4 and 9 you would see different things there and better. I honestly appreciate the rest of RUclipsrs, not because they "sugar coat" but rather they show a good image of Guatemala city that is already severely damaged. While i understand you were brutally honest one thing is right you only focused on the bad parts of one specific zone. I'm not gonna compare Guatemala City with a city of a first world that would be stupid, but i can compare Guatemala city with the rest of Central American capitals and many people say it's one of the greatest in the region, also while Guatemalan tourism is in the preliferies, Some tourist said they enjoy Guatemala city because that's where the real people are as opposed to tikal or Antigua you would only tourist in those areas.

I watched your video and feel sorry that you have spent more time critiquing the place than enjoying it. I have visited Guatemala City, and yes, there are wrong places, but unless you are from an underground area with no other humans around it. No place in the world is safe or one hundred percent safe. Every single city in the world has good and evil. I live in the United States, and sadly, three famous cities top the fifty most dangerous cities in the world in 2023. As a tourist, you must exercise common sense and follow your instincts. Why would you visit an area that looks lonely and has no business for you to visit? Or if you feel so unsafe visiting this particular place, stay in your own safe country.

I recently moved to Guatemala at the age of 22 to live with my fiancee, were living in Zone 3, I'm from New Zealand, I feel safe but my parents in law and one of my brother in law are lawyers, my fiancee is a doctor, I have a lot of support, this is not the place where you can casually stroll down random streets like back home. There definitely are lots of piles of rubbish around. Its a convenient location and lots of great food around. But many parts of the city are very beautiful, and I'm a kiwi who has never even been to Auckland the biggest city in my country, so for me Guatemala city is the biggest an most beautiful I have seen in my life. I love how green the city and country is, makes me feel at home coming from NZ. Is it as safe as western countries? No. But the people here are far less spiritually dead like people in western society's, there is far less nonsense happening, there is a real passion for Christ with Guatemalan people. Extreme violence, but also extreme hospitality and kindness is los guatemaltecos.
