The Vista is a beautiful ship, but it seems to suffer from so many mechanical problems and issues with the engines. I wouldn’t sail on it for anything.

Thanks for the honest and open feedback. I have a B2B booked in over a week and wasn't sure how I was going to react to being on such a small ship. I've been on the Breeze, Sunrise, Conquest, Liberty x2, Magic x3, and Horizon x2. I have the Celebration booked for B2B in November, so first time for Excel class. Will be interesting to go from the oldest and smallest ship to the (almost) newest and biggest ship Carnival has to offer within a couple of months.

Oh boy, we booked this cruise ship for next year October. It's going to Belize, a place we have always wanted to go to. I know other ships go there but this one worked best for us. I hope we have a better experience.

Did you feel alot of movement being at the front of the ship? We board next week, our first time in an interior spa cabin on Sunshine. We usually get midship deck 6.

What the British Navy did to the Pirate Republic was selfish. The Pirates did get the Last Laugh though.

I wish I could say we LOVE this ship but 2 non smokers are choked out on the Pride with the casino. We just cannot breathe with the amount of smoke that is all over. Older ship does not have good air system in casino and we love to spend a little time in the casino.

The PRIDE is our FAVORITE cruise ship, hands down. She is convenient out of Baltimore, has a great crew and we have NO faults with her!!!!.....

We just got off the ship like 2 days ago, this is my second time on it and I loved it. The only thing I disliked is if you don’t pay for excursions the second you get off the boat you are bombarded with 100s of locals trying to sell to you and some of them because very pushy. You can definitely tell there was some tourist traps. Other than that the boat and staff were amazing we met some really nice people. Our main cleaner I forget his name was on point remembered everyone’s names and was instant if you needed any help/ request

We sailed last year in a suite on the 14th deck and still had the same vibration problems.

I have sailed on the Pride twice, including a New Year’s Eve Cruise before it’s dry dock when the specialty restaurant was called David’s Steakhouse. I had New Year’s Eve dinner there with some friends, And I really, really, like that ship, especially the Serenity deck, I was there so often that I developed a great friendship with not only the bartenders but the lifeguards on duty there as well. And having a retractable roof over one of the pool decks came in handy when we had some rainy weather on one of our port visits, and the European Feel of the ship with it’s decor was awesome, it reminded me of being in a Old Fancy European Hotel, and you are right about the ships layout not making you feel crowded, even on the New Years Eve Cruise There were plenty of places around the ship to relax and enjoy yourself. I look forward to sailing on her again.

Yikes on the atrium elevators! I appreciate your review. I'll be sailing this month. It will probably be the only time I get to sail this ship so I'll just take that "glass half full" attitude.

I have been on the Paradise three times and have a fourth cruise scheduled for September. I have a special affection for the Paradise, since it was the first ship I ever cruised on, and I was on board for the 50th wedding anniversary of some very dear friends of mine. And while I have sailed on other Carnival Ships including the Mardi Gras, I enjoy the Paradise for a quick four night getaway to rest, relax and unplug from the world. I know that it’s old, has few amenities and is probably boring to lots of people, but if you want to just relax and enjoy yourself without the fear of missing out on the dozens of other things to do on the larger ships that can be overwhelming then the Paradise is a perfect ship to sail on.

My only complaint is that the video doesn’t show people. Makes the ship feel dead of sorts. Kinda like a liminal space, lol. Hope you had a lovely cruise !

I was on the Carnival Mardi Gras last week and they were letting people eat at Cucina del Capitano for free on the first visit. I need to be Gluten-Free because I have celiac, so the fact that they offered a GF version of breaded chicken parmesan thrilled me. So we went back on our last day. That day, they only charged $9 per person. Totally worth it! The meatball is also available in GF and was exquisite! My only issue with the restaurant is that they don't offer decaf coffee. They have dessert coffees but nothing free.

We are cruising this August, how hot was it in 2023 August?

Just got off Paradise on Monday May 13. The ship itself is fine. Well maintained. The crew is perfect. Only thing is it is a really small ship. But that's ok. The problem is the food. It was awful. There was so much wasted food. Guys burgers were so over cooked. They were like hockey puck. The buffet was the smallest I have ever seen. Only 5 items to choose from. Thankfully they had a sandwich shop. MDR only went one night on formal night and it was not very formal. Over all it is a nice little ship. Food not so much. Very disappointed. Thankfully it was a short cruise.

Please find a way to keep carnival in either Mt. Pleasant or North Charleston South Carolina!!!!!!!!

This is the BEST tour video on RUclips for the Sunshine! Thank you! Even though it is an "old ship" it still carries great reviews and people just have a love for it. We will be boarding the sunshine in a few days for our first ever cruise! We chose it because it's only 3 hours away from us, and the reviews made us not worry about the age!

My family really liked the Paradise over the Elation. Both were nice and enjoyable but on the Elation Carnival pulled out public areas and added more cabins. We actually just got off the Icon of the Seas and enjoyed the relaxing experience on these smaller Fantasy class ships more than the over crowded and super long lines on the Icon. Try getting a beach chair on the Icon, good luck but they will rent you one for $300 a day.
