Thanks for the honest and open feedback. I have a B2B booked in over a week and wasn't sure how I was going to react to being on such a small ship. I've been on the Breeze, Sunrise, Conquest, Liberty x2, Magic x3, and Horizon x2. I have the Celebration booked for B2B in November, so first time for Excel class. Will be interesting to go from the oldest and smallest ship to the (almost) newest and biggest ship Carnival has to offer within a couple of months.
I have been on the Paradise three times and have a fourth cruise scheduled for September. I have a special affection for the Paradise, since it was the first ship I ever cruised on, and I was on board for the 50th wedding anniversary of some very dear friends of mine. And while I have sailed on other Carnival Ships including the Mardi Gras, I enjoy the Paradise for a quick four night getaway to rest, relax and unplug from the world. I know that it’s old, has few amenities and is probably boring to lots of people, but if you want to just relax and enjoy yourself without the fear of missing out on the dozens of other things to do on the larger ships that can be overwhelming then the Paradise is a perfect ship to sail on.
Plan to go on her again next year. I have sailed on every. Fantasy class ship excep the Inspiration. The first was the Fantasy. I don't care for the mega ships. I really wish Carnival would build a new version of this class. The oldest ship in Carnival fleet is the Sunshine built in 1996 as the Destiny. This and Carnival Elation were built in 1998.
Oh boy, we booked this cruise ship for next year October. It's going to Belize, a place we have always wanted to go to. I know other ships go there but this one worked best for us. I hope we have a better experience.
It's an older ship and with that has some issues but I'm sure you will enjoy even so! We still had a great time. We had a good idea what the experience would be like from sailing on some of the other fantasy class ships and wasn't surprised. Enjoy your cruise!
We leave in a week on the Horizon and we can't wait. A few years ago we were on the Conquest another older ship. We had a blast. I'm sure the Paradise will not disappoint.
Yikes on the atrium elevators! I appreciate your review. I'll be sailing this month. It will probably be the only time I get to sail this ship so I'll just take that "glass half full" attitude.
My family really liked the Paradise over the Elation. Both were nice and enjoyable but on the Elation Carnival pulled out public areas and added more cabins. We actually just got off the Icon of the Seas and enjoyed the relaxing experience on these smaller Fantasy class ships more than the over crowded and super long lines on the Icon. Try getting a beach chair on the Icon, good luck but they will rent you one for $300 a day.
I went on it in September.it was a real snooze cruise. The food was barely edible and ran out of lots of things after day 3 on a 6 day cruise. Apparently a lot of reviewers have a different agenda than a regular cruiser. The entertainment was lacking. Only saving grace was the cruise was really cheap.
I was debating on booking between Elation and Paradise, after seeing there is no alchemy bar I’ll be staying away from Paradise for now until (if) it gets some upgrades.
Just got off Paradise on Monday May 13. The ship itself is fine. Well maintained. The crew is perfect. Only thing is it is a really small ship. But that's ok. The problem is the food. It was awful. There was so much wasted food. Guys burgers were so over cooked. They were like hockey puck. The buffet was the smallest I have ever seen. Only 5 items to choose from. Thankfully they had a sandwich shop. MDR only went one night on formal night and it was not very formal. Over all it is a nice little ship. Food not so much. Very disappointed. Thankfully it was a short cruise.
Thanks for watching and your feedback on your cruise! It seems the food has taken a hit on a lot of their ships. It may be due to them trying to cut costs but doesn't help the quality at all.
Even with all the things we disliked about Paradise, we still enjoyed the cruise. It is an older ship, so we were not really surprised by most of what we experienced. You will have a great time!
We are going on Carnival Paradise tomorrow 😅😅😅. Thanks for Sharing!
You're welcome. thanks for watching!

looks like a family cruise good time to me (short enough to see the family that get on your nerves)
LOL, true! Thanks for watching and posting!

We agree, the smaller ships are more relaxing and great for short cruises! Thanks for watching and posting!

Thanks for watching! I didn't realize Sunshine is older but did know about them renaming her. I'll be sailing on Sunshine in a few days.

We just went at the end of February on the Paradise and the atrium elevators were still as you describe them. I was a little bummed.
We love riding them and was really disappointed that both were down. Thanks for watching!
We sailed last year in a suite on the 14th deck and still had the same vibration problems.

You are right about the smaller ships like this one having limited options for entertainment. The fares are pretty cheap though.

Elation is the better of the two. Thanks for watching!
My guess is Paradise is going to be decommissioned once the new Excel ship is ready to go. Could explain the lack of any dry dock upgrades
You are likely right about that and that would explain the lack of upgrades during the last drydock.
